Hi ,

Is the anyone that can help a little noob like me, what is the difference between CPU and GPU on Zcash?   worth mining on CPU or on GPU?

Thanks

I am not an expert in mining but as far as I know, Mining on GPU gives you more hashes or power to mine more coins than CPU mining. So get a Graphic card for mining. Start with at least a 2 GB card and I am also heard that AMD graphic cards are better than NVIDIA. Google and you can find more information.
NVIDIA cards are better on some algo's and AMD are better on other algo's. Nvidia is good on high memory usage  coins.

Watch out, Zcash is another scam

In a few days we’ll see the official launch of Zcash. It’s yet another alt-coin (ZEC) with new features. Think of Bitcoin but without public transactions. The maximum number of 21 millions coins isn’t chosen by accident. This project really wants to be the anonymous version of Bitcoin. But there’s a catch…

In a few days the network goes live and dozens of people will buy/sell coins on exchanges as this is “the new hot thing in crypto”. Well, it’s a free world isn’t it? And everybody should be free to launch and trade whatever they want. But Zcash uses the exact same tactics spotted at the launch of Ethereum. The idea is quite simple: while the the whole world is used to Apps and GUI’s you launch your project without one. That way a few nerds (including the founders/devs) have a big advantage over the rest. How big? Think of a small group of people (not even 100) that mine all the first blocks. Guess who’s making the market when trading goes live? Indeed, the few nerds that know how to compile this stuff while the rest is in the dark. Don’t be fooled with messages like: “Yes we are working on a Windows GUI” because it will take them years. Remember this Ethereum Mist video? Guess what, it still isn’t there. We do have a light version of Mist but it doesn’t even come close to the video. I guess the devs aren’t paid that much for their work….

GPU mining gives more hash power than cpu mining and some AMD graphic cards have better results compared to NVIDIA when it comes to getting good hash rates, but i do not think that you can mine Zcash with GPU mining or am i missing something

You can only mine Xcash with CPU (need a lot of RAM)

If you want to try out your CPU's mining you can use this miner:

https://github.com/ocminer/nheqminer

It's also linked at

https://zec.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=gettingstarted

Run with

Code:
nheqminer -l zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -u worker.1 -p x -t 4

@ocminer Thank you!

What a difference between nheqminer and nheqminerSSE2?

The sse2 version is compiled for special cpus with sse2 support, just Google your cpu and you should see if sse2 is available for it

Zcash coin might be interesting, how Zcashshare coin (Tradesatoshi), but Zcashshare is more difficulty to mine, because (only CPU) and the price of coin 900 satoshi... I hope that Zcash usual will be easily than Zcahshare) This is two good coins from developer Tongue  Cool

For anyone interested I am offering my GPU farm for rentals.

Similar to cloud mining however at the fraction of the cost and for a shorter period (1-2 months).

We would use escrow which would protect me in case ZEC mining isn't profitable and the buyer might want to bail early and to protect you to make sure I am mining on your pool.

I am doing this out of pure speculation because I think I will make more renting out my GPUs than mining it directly.

Unfortunately there isn't a GPU miner available yet however I am pretty sure when one does become available I should be able to have 200-500 H/s available for rental.

PM for details and more info if you are interested.

0.025BTC/H, 3Monthes contract , All include.

Can you give us any reassurances about the legitimacy of your business? Some pictures and videos from your mining rigs would be good. Also how can you have such good rates? Are you using GPU mining? If so, is the miner open or closed source?

On your website I couldnt find any info about z cash mining
