That's very clever thinking. It seems to be a new trend for devs to scorn bitcointalk and move to other platforms like slack and discord.

Doge probably started it off by moving to reddit.

Bitcointalk is still the centre of the crypto world, and they will get more interest in a project by participating in an ANN thread here.

This is true, but the competition doesn't sleep. While Zilliqa may have achieved an incredible number of things, it isn't like all those other projects were standing still. There is more than just technology. Bitcoin and Ethereum have the advantage that their networks kind of grow by itself by now.
