Community Update:: [Sad News]: Nigerian shot dead after resisting robbers access to crypto phone

Nigerian Man Shot Dead by robbers to access his mobile phone with crypto

Quote
“Investigations so far have also revealed that the bosom friend of the victim arrested had hinted one of the suspects of the discovery of $10, 000 in the victim’s Bitcoin wallet and then contacted the other suspects for the robbery operation. “From the confessional statements of the suspects, their intentions for carrying out the operation was to dispossess Iroro of the $10, 000 in his Bitcoin wallet but were disappointed to find out that what was left when they struck was $400.

I don't want to bring this news, but I guess everyone in crypto should understand the dangers whether online and offline. And another sad thing is that the man doesn't have $10k, but rather $400.

Also, we need not to tell anyone of our bitcoin stash, otherwise others might be tempted to robbed us as what happen here.

I just say make I share dis 1 here 4 our consumption becus it dey important 4 all of us wey dey dis forum. Dis tin happened 2 our country person who no fit keep secret 2 himself, abeg make we shine our eyes and mind not 2 tell our secrets 2 our enemies. Though, dis 1 done happen 4 us 2 learn 4rm.

I no say make we no keep friends ooo but say make we dey very careful of de friends we keep nd tell secret. May dis boy soul rest in peace and de souls of de departed, Amen.

Finally a campaign being managed by a Nigerian! Massive congratulations to CryptoPreneurBrainBoss on his recent appointment as the new manager of both Bitvest & 777 coin signature campaigns. It's a very important feat ad this serves as an inspiration for other Nigerians to break limits and build a good reputation here on the forum. Thanks for your continuous contribution to the African community on Bitcointalk.

@nelson4lov, sure. probably as his (#CryptoPreneurBrainBoss )level increases on this forum he can apply for for the position of mod. on the African community hangout. Currently, another member of this forum is occupying this postion but, in future i think we can help vote for a new moderator by getting with the thymos & co. Atleast, someone who knows the Africa culture could be suitable for such position.

Thanks

Recently, i have been following up with what is happening in Africa (especially in Nigeria) It's so sad when you look back to find there is no where for us to call a home due to the govt. by crook alliance of political crook

It's true that the way our country's government / politics has been no good. However, instead of waiting on the government, we can make our own paths different from the one the govt has laid down for us. Currently, Nigeria is one of the few countries that doesn't have a strict regulatory system so we can take advantage of that.

Well, we should use this as panel to educate, support & assist ourselves. Those who are good at writing, designing, offering technical support --  should kindly link to the African Btc comm. after posting such thread within the marketplace of this forum.

Definitely. A quick look at the forum shows that only a tiny fraction of the forum's population are Africans. Compared to other countries. I'm sure that in the near future, more  africans will embrace Bitcoin and blockchain.

Occasionally, i go on fiverr and other mini freelance site(s) in search for virtual worker's who could be of assistance. So, it will not be a crime if, i decide to outsource to a fellow African Brother's/sister's who are competent in such area's.

Maybe, next time you need Virtual workers or workers for a simple gig, you can  post it here. I'm available for gigs like that. I'm a computer science student currently self-learning  web development. We also have other users from african with different skills.

@nelson4lov,

"......Maybe, next time you need Virtual workers or workers for a simple gig, you can  post it here. I'm available for gigs like that. I'm a computer science student currently self-learning  web development. We also have other users from african with different skills...."

Sure, i will. also in regard's to your other comment, maybe we can START doing something for ourselves instead of just complaining about the govt. We've been complaining about this for decades now and this has made little or no impart on Afri-economy.

So, we need to change that. You see, it is onething to talk about a problem, another is to take immediate action in a timely manner towards solving the problem. else, we'll get no solution.

Getting solution is the right approach seems to be very difficult because most of us in AFRICA are used to living based on fate & excuses.
So, i believe the Africa generation need's some kind of training in order to shift their brain to a different path.

Let me be more practical on how brain is wired to easily grab millions of excuses in midst of challenges.
The early stage when i decided to invest more time on myself by reducing the amount working for somebody else (my boss) in order to acquire  the necessary home based biz training's.

I spent most of my time analyzing my abiity in the wrong direction. oh, i donot have this & that skill instead of focusing narrowly on some of the area's where i have indepth knowledge while acquiring  more.
Month's after month i was still at same level instead i started losing the already posses skill's.

And one day i decided just like every other person reading this comment today that i'm going to start-up and do something for myself.
I did made lot of silly mistake at the early stage but, i did not give up because of the passion to do more. At a point, the few of losing my money left.

There is an inward satisfaction whenever you start assisting or serving other's within your area's of specialization. This is the secret behind any successful home based biz. Making money is just other part of it.

I think someone here on this forum wrote an article on how to magnitize your passion. Yes, passion can be very rewarding ONLY if, we can be patient enough to educate, train redirect our mindset. Most of us are easily diverted to what is booming (hot) on the the web.

I also made this mistake at the early stage. Unfortunatly, what is hot today might not work for you or may not last longer than expected if, does work for you.

***I hope this contribution help someone to get started & stop procrastinating.*****

Thanks & sorry for my long contribution.

I'm awaiting your response.

Longest time bros, make I start from here, the campaign wey you join fit they contribute small small as e go determine how active positively or negatively your post go dey. If you dey spam, post irrelevant replies (just to get paid) or your post in general no make brain then nobody go reason you merit. Many forum users dey judge the book by it's cover so immediately they see your signature (Cryptotalk) they go assume you to be spammer meaning even though dey for reason your matter, they go just ignore you.

I go advice, you make your post very different from any other posts on the thread you wan reply, that's no post generic spam and probably you go attract some merit soon. Check the first post you go see merit giveways you fit apply for merit there and just enjoy your stay on the forum.

Important information: Nigeria Naira becomes first Fiat currencies to be listed on Binance.
Fellow Binancians,

Binance has opened deposits for the Nigerian Naira (NGN) through Flutterwave. We have also added trading pairs BUSD/NGN, BNB/NGN, and BTC/NGN to the Stablecoin Market (USDⓈ) as of October 24, 2019, 12:30  UTC. Users can now start depositing NGN and using it to buy BUSD, BNB, and BTC.

Note:
For users who'll be interested, there's also a trading contest. Head over to the link above and read more on this information. Trade carefully and smartly, don't forget; exchanges aren't wallet don't store your coins on them.

Red flag: Don't go investing in a project just because it's based in a particular region especially africa most of this so called startups are just scammers/greedy fools hoping to take advantage of victims. As big as bitcoin is, it hasn't conquer (have much influence) on africa talk less of some altcoins. Invest wisely (DYOR).

Unless 'it' (the method of exchange) Finds High-Value Utility in the Socio-Political Space,
