Becky, that's not true. There are truly several lazy youths in our dear Naija. Walk around your area in the morning and you will see several chatting away their lives unnecessarily, in unproductive arguments and needless discussions.

Can you specifically provide us with these estimated numbers of lazy youths in your environment or country? Definitely, there are lazy ones around us but not a yardstick to draw a conclusion that the youths are lazy. We all know some part of naija that are lazy and should not be generalize, that will be a good argument here bros. One percent of Edo youths are lazy and not Edo youths in general, so, i agree to disagree with anyone who cannot differentiate the lazy one from the hardworking ones among the youths.

Yes, Edo love traveling out of the country but very few(little) of them does that and not several(numerous).

I've been off the forum for a while, but just recently returned and am elated to see a gathering of the African community (mostly Nigerian though).

Welcome back, the initiative of this hangout thread was made after an attempt to get a local board for the Nigeria Community failed but decided to make it an African hangout thread so other neighboring countries won't feel left out but if I notice only Nigerians are actively contributing to the thread, like 10-15. I no go waste time make an strictly 9ja business.

Nigerians believe in proves, for them to give their attention, let give them proves of our payment(Cashout digital to fiat) myopically.
So true. I remember even my younger brother showing great doubt about the conversion of Bitcoin to fiat until I showed him the cash.

Sad  are you a christian? i envy your faith brotherly....keep it up.
Yes, I am. But that isn't why. It's just that gambling is against my fundamental principle to life. Don't you see church goers who indulge Baba Ijebu or the now famous Lotto. Dem plenty well well here for Imo State.

....Due to gambling the youths are becoming lazy and hungry for quick money which resulted to scamming others when they fall out of luck with betting.

Grin my G no body wey e dey lazy 4 naija even in africa, dem just want us 2 stay intimidated by calling we d youth lazy ones but dat one na lie em be.
Becky, that's not true. There are truly several lazy youths in our dear Naija. Walk around your area in the morning and you will see several chatting away their lives unnecessarily, in unproductive arguments and needless discussions. And when you try to talk them into online business they ask you if the reward is instant. I once Introduced a guy from nairaland to this forum in 2017 after I read his post filled with his frustration about life and unemployment. He told us he was a graduate and sounded like he would commit suicide anytime soon. I got concerned and chatted him up. I guarded him on opening an account here. He was from Osun State but lived in Ibadan and had an aged mother who was looking up to him financially. He sworn he wasn't lazy and could survive any rask. I told him about Bitcoin and this forum. But after the registration here he scampered and that was it. I chatted him up after several days on telegram to know why he wasn't posting, and he started talking trash about how he didn't understand the comments others were making. I just blocked him.

I think the greatest bane of Bitcoin in Nigeria is the MMM syndrome associated with it.....

Yes, have heard someone referring to MMM when i tried introduced her to the world of digital currency but personally, i wouldn't blame them becasue they where greatly affected. Many investment went down the pit and my humble self was also involved.

Nigerians believe in proves, for them to give their attention, let give them proves of our payment(Cashout digital to fiat) myopically.

.....Even here in this forum I don't join in any signature campaign that requires posts made in gambling section.

I don't condemn anyone who engages in gambling. It's their choice to make.

That's cool, for they will give account of their self...........in eternity......

Are you referring to the signature logo Brainboss is wearing? I don't think he will object to that. It's the African heritage. But if you're referring to avatar, you won't be able to wear it because of your rank limitation.

Not the avatar but the signature.

Well I read an article sometime in the past concerning the influence gambling has on Africa youths and I must say I wasn't happy with what I read. Due to gambling the youths are becoming lazy and hungry for quick money which resulted to scamming others when they fall out of luck with betting.

No doubt betting has a strong hold in the Africa community and again that can be attributed to the high rate of poverty but will that be the perfect catalyst? Sure when you talk of publicity gambling with cryptocurrency can do the trick but what category of youth will such advert method introduced into the African bitcoin (cryptocurrency) community, just gamblers right? Well that's not the best catalyst

I think the greatest bane of Bitcoin in Nigeria is the MMM syndrome associated with it. A lot of Nigerians still see Bitcoin as another level of MMM. I came into cryptocurrency during the wake of that infamous MMM of 2016. In fact, it was my research of that MMM that drew me to Bitcoin through Google search. So, I think a lot of education and awareness has to come up to sensitize our fellow brethren about Bitcoin.

We all know that African's are in love with games(Soccer), if our local games store could have the possibility of adoption into their system to accept Bitcoin(cryptocurrency) then, we may be heading toward adoption becasue of the spirit of soccer that lives in us both young and small.
I completely agree with you here on the sport thingy, especially getting Bitcoin posters into sports arena or inscribed on the jerseys. But I don't go with the gambling angle. I don't do gambling. Even here in this forum I don't join in any signature campaign that requires posts made in gambling section. I have missed a lot of opportunities on that here because it's against my principle. I don't condemn anyone who engages in gambling. It's their choice to make.

NB:
Am not yet be accepted into signature campaign sir, can i switch to your initiated campaign, please?, i love making fun with what i believe in.

NEW TOPIC what are the possible catalyst for adoptation of bitcoin in Africa and how effective do you think they will be?.

.... what are the possible catalysts you think will resurrect the buzz Africa had when it comes to adopting blockchain technology and bitcoin.

The only possibility of the Africa Countries(Continent) to have their fair share among other countries of the world in term of Bitcoin(Cryptocurrency) adoption is through Gaming approach(Gaming industry to be precise).

We all know that African's are in love with games(Soccer), if our local games store could have the possibility of adoption into their system to accept Bitcoin(cryptocurrency) then, we may be heading toward adoption becasue of the spirit of soccer that lives in us both young and small. Particularly in Nigeria where young energetic soccer fans can get involve when it come to football. They will go after Bitcoin(cryptocurrency) in order to get their games place on bet than the use of fiat. Let the adoption start from the younger generation becasue through this, there come a true adoption.

Quote
How do we achieve this in Africa countries too?

Lets collectively work with all the betting companies around Africa Continent to start integrating into their system the acceptance of Bitcoin(cryptocurrency), as they have done to our local currencies.

Am proud to be a gambler, who does things reasonably, responsibly and above all securely, to avoid addiction.

I was just thinking, blockchain developmuin in Africa haven't been headlining the news as it usually does, what are the possible catalysts you think will resurrect the buzz Africa had when it comes to adopting blockchain technology and bitcoin. Government approval shouldn't be considered, as a possibility of that happenings anything soon is very low and other nations don't have their government approval yet blockchain development is improving yearly in those continent/countries. How do we achieve this in Africa countries too?

It's great seeing the African community here on the forum and am happy and willing to join the movement.
Would you mind introducing your location using the format stated in the OP? That will help keep things in proper perspective and orderly too.

Suggestion in regards to location search options, what about adding a drop list or something similar that your viewers can just select a location they intend searching for businesses in. I tried searching for businesses in Port Harcourt with the key word, "buy bitcoin" but all I saw where businesses in locations outside Nigeria and Port Harcourt in general.

Hello I am new to this thread. I live in London not Africa but crypto is  a global movement and I believe it has more potential for good or harm in Africa than anywhere else.

https://cryptostar.money/country/world/africa/ lists 185 crypto businesses in Africa.

It is my website and welcome any advice or feedback you can give me.
Cool site! I have created a thread with a list of Bitcoin service providers in African countries (I see it is already linked to in the OP). I will investigate at your site what businesses can be included in my list. I linked to Cryptostar in the OP there, so people can search in an up-to-date business directory.

If someone knows other directories of African crypto businesses, be welcome to post them there!
