Some people have PMed me about how witness mechanism works in DECENT. This might be some other people's curiosity too, so I decided to write here as well.
First of all: miner = witness. These words are interchangeable in DECENT. They mean block producer.
DPOS is an algorithm whereby stakeholders elect an odd number of block producers. Each round the block producers are shuffled and assigned a time slot in which they should produce a block. With this process in place, the longest chain is considered the best chain. It is impossible for a minority of block producers to create a longer chain because they would be producing fewer blocks per minute than the majority blockchain.
There is a rank. The most voted witness is number 1. The second most voted witness is number 2, and so it goes.
At this moment, the number of miners is 51. As a result one need to be in the top 51 most voted miners to be assigned blocks. The probability of being assigned a block is 1/51 if you are on the active miners list (top 51) or zero if you are out of the list. It doesn't make any difference if you are number one or number 51 in the rank.
Every 24 hours the votes are calculated. So you will not see your votes increasing the "total_votes" figure until 0:00 GMT.
If you have X DCT your votes will be X*100000000 (one satoshi of a DCT results in one vote). You can vote for as many witnesses you want with the same votes. You don't split votes. The voting power is the same regardless of how many miners you voted for. For example, if you vote for yourself with 5000000 votes, you can vote for me and we both will have 5000000 votes each. You will not lose a single vote for voting for me.
We are on the early days of DECENT. I personally believe 51 is too many active miners. The community will probably vote for less, because a high number causes a longer time for the last irreversible block.

Alot of bounty posts on this thread, I think by now the team should start collection of addresses and soon the first batch of tokens should be distributed to the bounty hunters, it is interesting that these developers will ask for support during their campaign but find it difficult to distributed the tokens promised after the ICO
yeah they must turn the table and give the coins to the bounty hunters so some weak hands will dump and some will buy that dump, that will be seen the true price of decent.

I believe at least 60% of the bounty share will be with strong supporters so if you are hoping all 1 million coins would be dumped then think again. DCT probably launched at a time investors are uncertain about bitcoin and exiting but whatever happens to bitcoin has nothing with the strong tech and idea behind decent. Soon as exchangers pair DCT/USD/EURO and partnerships announced/contents start running on decent, we will touch the moon.

Try running on Ubuntu 16.04 instead. DECENT mining has not been thoroughly tested on Windows.
Miner creation costs 0.5 DCT. Some other actions cost 0.005 DCT. You probably did one.

In https://liqui.io/ DCT is IOU as well. Why don't they bother to change to mainnet?
Because liqui still waiting for their ico coin to be distributed by decent team. IOU dct doesn't exist in real.So liqui have to wait a little until they received their initial purchased DCT from ico. Can dev give us an estimate about how much (%) dct they distributed to investors till date?

So if we take the account balances and divide it by 100 million, then that gives us the total supply. If we do that to the vesting balance we get 20,931.16269181 DCT.

Do not deposit on that page, they have a lot of problems with deposits and withdrawals, and they do not have credibility, I was traded snm there and removing them was a nightmare
