HZcharts

I'd like to announce HZcharts: http://hzcharts.coin.emergate.net (or HZcharts.coin on Emercoin decentralized DNS)

HZchats is simple website for viewing information about assets and accounts on Horizon's Asset Exchange. It also provides a public api for retrieving live asset price and volume feeds, that can be used to list assets on sites like coinmarketcap.com. HZcharts is heavily inspired by http://nxtreporting.com/ as I use that a bunch and couldn't find anything equivalent for the HZ platform.

It's a work in progress which I'll leave as basic for now, and develop more if it benefits the HZ community.

I've also issued an asset on Horizon called "HZCHARTS" (id:17035415330002870030). For now, purchasing the asset should simply be seen as a way of supporting development of the site.  Smiley

I thought it could be helpful to have a better overview of Horizon's Asset Exchange. There's a lot of junk / abandoned assets on there though, so hopefully it can improve!

I've started a dedicated thread here. Please post there if you have any suggestions, bug fixes, or things you'd like to see. Cheers.

Great work!! Like altsheets, I just bought some of your Asset myself. Smiley

Funny...three of my own Assets are in the top ten. And I've been having a convo with a new investor in two of them - all through the goold ol' Arbitrary Message system. Grin

A consolidated "Portfolio" view coupled with a slate of of high-quality assets to choose from can only elevate Hz standing as the go-to distributed asset exchange.

As a show of appreciation for the outstanding vision I've also taken a small stake in HZCHARTS and look forward to seeing the project evolve.

Speaking of forging with/without pool, it is fun to forge and see "forged blocks by account" on webpage. Yeah, nice to see your amount of blocks embedded between all the others. It kinda does something to you when you see that.

However I want to lease my balance to a tiny pool for a while, who would like to take mine and forge away?

EDIT: If someone wants to forge (and not lease to a big pool) and also see your own blocks in the pie chart grow (on HZ website) but you have a sub 50,000 HZ balance so it doesn't feel worthwhile forging with say 10,000 HZ please PM me here and you can add the 1000,000+ HZ I want to lease out and that will give you enough to forge away and be able to see your results  Smiley Don't worry about feeling obliged to reward me proportionally for found blocks - I won't either. Smiley The idea is to have some fun with it. You can forge up to 36 days per single lease agreement.

If PM on HZ platform:  NHZ-KGPH-8FZU-W843-EQPA2, issuer of the FREEDOM asset you can find here: https://explorer.horizonplatform.io/?page=asset&id=1918076501414611727 (let me also know if you would like some FREEDOM in your pm)

Really appreciate the response pizpie.  What other goals might an individual have if nodes only current function is to mine HZ?  Or are there plans on further developing this network somehow?

The reasons why someone may want to run a node right now are (list not necessarily complete):
- forge without a pool
- have a fast local connection
- provide a gateway for a service (BitNation, Coinerz)
- custom configurations (i.e. not deleting pruned data)
- and of course to just secure the network

There have been ideas and to some extents plans and development for features that could make running a node profitable later on, but there's not enough resources to seriously implement anything in the near future.

Result so far of poll "what is the best in HZ" suggest HZ holders like the low price more than a higher price at this time (3rd highest % in results so far), so its a good thing then that support @43 was broken, but mind that it didn't spike through 43 with a mega spike - just a gentle push lower to around 30. Nice.  Smiley

I have a question.  Given that the coin distribution to federated nodes is scheduled to end soon what incentive will owners reap from continuing to run their node(s)?

The reason I ask is I was thinking about investing in getting a couple of nodes setup but starting to think now it wouldn't be prudent.

Thoughts?

The distribution of HZ as an incentive will end once distribution is complete. Running distribution through nodes has been a great incentive to have a lot of people running nodes, and people who are only running nodes to mine HZ may turn them off if their only goals are monetary driven.

Wow, kudos!

Very very VERY cool.

I had always hoped for such a system.

Now I can finally see the trades of my AAssetHZ as a graph:

So cool.

So the alias "alias": "nrsversion" always contains the newest version number?

Node bounties are only paid for the latest version.
As usual you have a 7 day time window to upgrade to the latest version.
The time windows is triggered by an alias "nrsversion" update, which is also used to announce new nrs version witihin the hz client.
The last 'nrsversion' alias update was on '12/13/2015 23:00:26 UTC'
Transaction id is 13358822116601159558 and block id is 6751858650703315890.

He's right. I updated within the timeframe and the subsidies keep rolling into my account every day.

Newer than 5.3 version of Horizon released?

Yes, I'm waiting for Nick to announce the new release Smiley

https://github.com/NeXTHorizon/hz-source/releases/tag/hz-v5.4

changelog:
New API call getRichList added. This request is very expensive, therefore it is protected with a password (nhz.adminPassword) for non localhost access.
Versions less than 5.2 are blacklisted.
Only calculate checksums when checkpoint check is disabled.
Checkpoints updated and phasing block checksum added.
Bouncy Castle library to version 1.53, Jetty to version 9.2.14 and weupnp to 0.1.4 updated.
If you like to install the new version over an old version, then please remove the old library folder "lib/" before you start the installation.

Looks like 5.3 should have been paid, but mine weren't??
