I don't think that it's possible, i mean even halving can't rise price so much in just 10 months, it may be around 600$, not more

I think it's not impossible, bitcoin has good penetration in the eyes of the market. the market will be very large in 2016.

Why the panic selling, you ask? Bad news from Hearn quitting Bitcoin and calling it "dead" and cryptsy going Gox, admitting to a loss of 13,000 Bitcoins and hundreds of thousands of litecoins. On top, the last pump to 450+ was fabricated in China with fake volume when signs were actually bearish. This is the rebound aka correction.

Waiting for price to go down to 350 this weekend.
I think people tend to exaggerate both ways: to the upside and to the downside. Mr. Hearn was very negative about Bitcoin in the last two years. Did it change something in Bitcoin price? I doubt it. Cryptsy is not Mt. Gox's size of the hat. A much more realistic is comparison to Mintpal. Did it influence the price of Bitcoin when it ceased its operation. Yes, a bit, but not Mt. Gox like. That is why I believe we will have a correction, but not a big one. Technically, support cluster between $350 and $400 looks very solid, containing many support lines. The correction should stop on one of them.

I do believe bitcoin is able to reach this amount this year. It's just a matter of when.
I believe that if it doesn't happen before halving, it will happen after.
Then again, it's hard to tell because I don't like to have high expectations and then be let down when it doesn't happen.
For now I'll be in the background and watch it happen.

We are ready, but if just might be going to happen or not.
Now a lot of people that is panicking, because is going to 400 dollars.
We have a hope after the halving, because it can go higher.

The panic sellers are yet alive again.
I'm not sure why they are panic selling again. It's normal for an asset to go up and then go down again.

What's the need to sell again?

That's the question I'm asking myself as well.
Unless some people out there are getting a lot of profits out of the value they are selling for.

If the price increased only 50 $ every month by the end of this year BTC would reach 1000$.If we look at what happened at the end of last year, just one big pump easily could double the price.Of course there is halving that will surely help to achieve this goal, or perhaps something more Smiley

Yes indeed.

Bitcoin just needs a little pump and it will reach $1000

Right now, a lot of people are freaking out and selling, they will regret doing this

dont fall into dream man, its unreal almshouse almost 120% growth in this year, unfortunately
120% growth is definitely doable in a year, and more if you realise the fact that this is Bitcoin, very volatile animal.
Look how much it went up since summer 2015. Now, having said that, I also have to reckon that it is much more difficult to double from the absolute bottom, than from where we are now. As I wrote earlier, I expect only getting to $500-600, if halving is the only story in the store for 2016.

I have a feeling that this target can be reached before the halving period when people will try to buy lots of bitcoin which means that the price would be increased.

As mentioned by others, the block halving will certainly cause a price increase. However I'm gonna guess that the price doesn't reach $1000. The price may reach as high as $700 or $800, but I doubt it will go any higher than that. I'm just trusting the feeling in my gut about this one, I don't really have any evidence to back up this speculation.

The price will go well over $1000 and may even go into the 2000s range, or it might completely crash. Only time will tell.
Not too sure about the latter, because the market is so large that it is hard for Bitcoin to crash.

As everybody else here I hope we will see the $1000!!
I also hope we will see it before halving and that maybe we could reach a new ATH shortly and then stabilize around the 1000.

On halving alone - it is not gonna happen. If there is something more, we may reach $1k territory again. But it has to be something important in terms of adoption, something that will fundamentally influence Bitcoin. Otherwise, I don't see $1k price, much more likely we will stay somewhere between $500 and $600.
