I think that is quite optimistic unless a whole load of things fall into place and bitcoin is adopted by a few lsrge companies, perhaps 2017 it could hit that level?
I really doubt this would happen even by end of 2016, at most reaching $700 I think if all the factors goes on our way and reaching those number doesn't matter if it's going to down after it so hoping for a stable price, I would even be happy with $500 at most though.
If you are a miner you want more and more. I don't see any speculation acurate enough to say what it will do in a year. A year is a LONG time in crypto time. Anyone that say's they can predict accuratly... is most likely lying. As there is not even a good equation they could say they have had.
There are also a lot of factors. I just don't see how this can be done accurately.

I am very tasty for the price of bitcoin to reach $1000. If it does, I am going to buy a gaming PC. Yay.
I'm actually thinking of that too since there is incoming halving. Plus a lot of people had the same prediction that 2016 is the year of bitcoin and the price will rise.
Maybe this topic should be in the "speculation" section. At least this is the kind of topic I use to see in that place.
Although I do not think it is likely, I think it is still possible. Perphaps when we are close the halving BTC may go up and then hype /media attention will take it to much higher levels. But I do not think it is sustainable.

It's already 2016$ and I don't think this is going to happen unless we are at least couple of months behind the halving block reward or after it .
