Personally I'd suggest you to go for bitcoin, ETH could quite easily be a huge failure after an epic pump & dump. Bitcoin is the real deal

Split your investments 50:50 or 30:70 in favor of Bitcoin. Also after the fork Bitcoin on the main chain might go down considerably in price so you could buy then and net more profit.

thanks for the opinions fellas, and explanations to back your thinking!!

@mrcash....really?!... you personally think 100ETH is worth less than 1 BTC?....Is that a general consensus between those "well versed" in the game? (I see you've posted quite a bit in this forum, so I assuming you know your stuff somewhat....enlighten me por favor!)

If your are talking about right know I will go for 1 btc or else 10 ETH in future like 5-8 years later maybe.
So ETH is gaining it value but bitcoin has gained it.
So according to me btc will be best.
But ETH also by seeing it price growth

I think ETH is better, I am trading PPT and Veritasium tokens on EtherDelta. It's an easy 10-15% profit daily, market moves up and down all the time, it's very easy to make money in my opinion.

BTC is at risk now with the things on August 1, I think that is risky to invest in it now, but ETH is cool.

Bitcoin is the main Crypto-Currency, the best one. Some people like to invest in ETH or diversify funds among different currencies, but I personally would prefer for now to put all my tickets in BTC. The price will probably increase a lot in few months (who knows, maybe 50%-100%), I'm not sure if ETH has the same potential... I don't think so.

1 BTC worth much more than 10 or even 100 ETH.  Cheesy

Especially because you want to put it into a cold wallet for at least 5 years, BTC potential is huge on long term.

With $3000 to invest, is there any advantages to either, with the expectations/hopes that they both will continue to grow?  Just trying to see what others would do, as I plan to let this initial investment sit for 5yrs minimum in a cold wallet.

Thanks ladies and gents!
