good right now I have this pointed at bitminter. 12 nano 'ice' furies and 36 antminers

Nice.. I only bought 6 antminers   Cry  But it should be a big step up from my 5970 and now 2x 6970s (traded my brother for one) that I have now.  I have a couple 600Ghps cards on the way, but they won't be here until probably March, assuming Butterfly Labs doesn't choke on delivery again.  I have read that some of those cards have actually shipped now, so I guess there is a possibility that I might get them in February since I have a March/February delivery window.

Did you overclock your ants?  If you did, do you happen to have a link to what I need to do to do that?  I have a nice cold basement and can aim an nice air filter fan right on to them.  Not really concerned about power costs at this point.  I run the air filter anyway, and the computer will be running anyway... so the difference in power probably won't be that big of a deal.  I have some of the cheapest power in the country too.

Thanks for the links too!  Looks like I have some reading to do.  I'm a bit out of practice on my tweaking.  Do you prefer cgminer or bfgminer?  Or does it matter?  I tried GUIminer before I found Bitminter, but I didn't get it to work correctly.  Bitminter is just stupid easy to get working, so I love it.  but I don't mind getting my hands dirty if I need to.   Grin

Thanks again!

right now the oc option appears to be only with cgminer

I did oc to 2 gh

1.6Gh/s with the stock     my setting has 0981

change the bmsc-freq from 0681 to 0881 see if you get aaround 1.8gh   most of us are having an easy time setting the oc  at 1.8  = 0881 or 2.0 gh = 0981  .

I have 36 sticks going on a 49 port hub all set at  2.0 gh  I should get 71 or 72 gh.  I am getting 69 gh.  comes to  1.9 a stick  that is  with bmsc-freq 0981

First I have 1 stick plugged in

I have a very simple start.bat file

     cgminer.exe  --bmsc-options 115200:20 --bmsc-freq 0981

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4279482

this brings up the antminer cgminer at the point where it asks for pool

pool : stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333      I put in bit minter on the left after pool hit enter

then

user: philipma1957_(my worker)

password :  just hit enter

then stick AMU 0  comes up     Since I have modded the driver with zadig from silabs to winusb  The first stick pops up.  It is a pita to do it the first time.

So I am back for good. I am pointing 122 gh. here  all in sticks..  ANTminer sticks are absolutely amazing.  Right now the doctor has not done the software for them and you need to do the custom cgminer build from antminer on github…

What are you using for the driver? I built a parallels virtual with windows 7 and pulled the custom cgminer but it whines about needing a driver.

Thanks

okay  you need to change the silabs to winusb  use zadig

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/

download 3.9 but you don't use it for antminers

you want use  zadig from the above 3.9 download  to change the drivers  and

see if your custom cgminer download has a zlibdll (sp) file  about 83kb if it does not pull the one from the 3.9 stock cgminer

Thanks!!!! Just getting zadig from that site did it. The zilib I had already located. When first running it I got that "Welcome back to windows - dll missing" and went and found it (The zilib)  Grin

Hi all,

I just found a decent price (well, not as bad as eBay at least) on some USB antminers and ordered a few.  Do I need to do anything special to use them when I get them or will they be detected by the bitminter client?

Oh and another question O wise ones....  I just traded some stuff with my Brother for another 6970.  I put it in my main machine in crossfire, but Damn it gets hot and loud!  Is it possible to put it in another machine with a 5970 not in crossfire in the third PCI-e slot so it has some breathing room.  I'm not really using that machine for much of anything but mining at the moment.  (yes, I know it isn't profitable, but I'm having fun messing with it.)   Grin  then I could stick it in my nice cold basement where I wouldn't have to listen to it.

Edited because I realized shortly after posting this how stupid that question was...

to those that moved to cex.io .

 myself included.

Read the new rules that take place in feb and come back here to the doctor.

Pretty simple cex.io got a huge edge by allowing trading without asking for id's  and frankly it is why I used them as trading the LTC I earned and the NMC for free was nice.

But  on feb 4th they will comply with law and you will have to give them an id.  A real copy of your passport, your drivers licenses  plus proof of address. Since I did this with vicurex
I do not want to do it with cex.io

So I am back for good. I am pointing 122 gh. here  all in sticks..  ANTminer sticks are absolutely amazing.  Right now the doctor has not done the software for them and you need to do the custom cgminer build from antminer on github…  I am running 36 sticks on a 49 port hub hashing just under 72 gh.. I did a software overclock to  2gh a stick.   they do not pull much power.  I am really happy with them…  These are the next best thing.  The lowest price on ebay   for 1 is about 93 for a pair about 180 and someone is selling 5 for 429 .

They will drop in price and when you get one to compare to the old asic miner stick  you will see that most likely these are the new asic miner stick ( with a new name AntMiner).

My guess is Aisc miner backed these and in the next 2-3 months we will see 100,000 plus get sold.

Oh I am removing the link in my signature to cex.io asap.  Link has been removed and replaced with a simple truth about myself.

How does this affect miners mining with their own equipment?
it affects everyone.  here is why.  you have to had purchased at least a small piece of gh to join the pool…that makes you a trader. If you convert the nmc to ghs or btc you are a trader. I do not need the annoyance of more record keeping .

Right now I have .1gh and 4 gh in referrals at that site so when feb 4th comes I am not handing over my  ids to them .  They would be  third trading site make that fourth trading site that has my id. 2 went belly up I still belong to vircurex. I just don't need to do that any more. I will just sacrifice what little I have there.  I will stay with a pure mining site like the doctors. No trading thus no need to hand over a shit load of ids.

I think it might be wise drharibo to post what you actually updated in your latest software update mentioned in post #5475. Now I know the answer is right above it. But as our bad luck has coincided with that, I think that is where people are getting the silly idea you changed how we mine or something.

lol, this is too funny...nobodys holding a gun to your head to mine here.  Dont you think its odd that nobody out of the top 50 is complaining?  When i started mining here, 7 days to find a block was the norm.

I was in the top 15, mining for the last 2 months but the latest series of DDOS and the data centre incident made me switch to Ghash.io
It was a good run, mined around 80BTC.

GHash IO ?

Bankers and rich guys, centralized banking to bitcoin ? That what you want ?
Or do not care, just want BTC.

Looking at the graphs on blockchain.info, ghash.io has an estimated 37% of the hashing power for the past 24 hours. They have been growing rapidly, and were at less than 25% a month ago. If they continue to grow at this rate, it's highly possible they could control 51% of the network.

DeepBit used to have 51% of the network, but why abuse a system that brings you steady income?
If you perform a 51% attack you would only kill the trust in the network and so whatever you managed to steal will be worth much less.
And I doubt that this will happen, because people (including me) will move to another pool if they ever approach 50%

OK my point to you is, we will miss your help here. Thats personal, the way it should be.

""I spoke with eleuthria and the local math wizard organofcorti and they both confirmed there is no easy way to precisely confirm the pool luck, which is a deal braker for me.""

PS you worry alot about things you have absolutly no control over Smiley It is the nature of that beast "LUCK"

Well, I am not gonna lie. I am not a big fan of fees and I am even surprised at myself for how long I stayed at Bitminter. Probably I would have stayed even longer if it was rock solid, but there were quite a few downtimes recently, so I decided to check the competition.
With the always increasing difficulty I think DrHaribo should probably find new ways to keep miners, because soon the variance will be so big that a lot more people will leave.
Overall I have positive impression from the pool and its admin, who is always willing to help Smiley

Haha! Yes good people, I can spot em, Phillipma1967 is on track I wish to follow, he is "lucky" or smart as he is ahead of me, but we on same wave.
Had a feeling about Docs place, the GUI miner is The Only ? Java client friendly to newbs.
Just got CPUminer going for some kitteh, next will be BGM and CGM I can feel it looming on my horizon.
Linux perhaps later on down the road.
We all had to start somewhere, I promised Doc I would stick with him and intend to do so.

I will give you my take on luck, I just applied for account on Mt Gox decided since I cannot mine very fast, I will get some BTC from cash.
So the price will now go up while I wait for confirmation. - guaranteed. was 600 just a few days ago.

As soon as I buy, BTC will plummet back to where it was, and I will spend the BTC on mining gear.
As soon as I have no BTC it will rise, so I will be doing you all a service, just telling you when I will buy or sell Smiley
Road of hard knocks, been that way my whole life... Never won a bet or anything gambling, Because I know it will turn out opposite of what I do.

If you can get you gear back here and help us out would ya,. If I had BTC I would pay your fees for you Smiley It is pennies to me.

Being Chinese, I am now wearing red underwear to ward off the bad luck.  I STRONGLY SUGGEST IT!
my brother teaches english as a second language to Chinese students. I will put on a pair of red jockey under pants right now. Followed by a red jockey undershirt!

 Is this TMI?

Seems to have done the trick!!

Lets hope we don't see another block like that for a while.  99.8% CDF  Cry

Let's hope so. I have had more than enough visions of people in red underwear for now (actually it works better if it's a hot chick in red underwear.).

Quoted for posterity.

Is that why I have such bad luck?  I don't have any red underwear!  Maybe I need to go shopping!  Now taking donations for red underwear!  I spent all my money (more than I should have actually) on new asic miners, unfortunately they won't be here until March.   Cry   So I'll be adding 1.2-1.8 Thps in march.  I might have to sell my pre-order on one miner.  I sold some gold coins I had stashed away to get some money.  now I don't have any more gold to sell if I get in trouble.

My wife has some very nice sexy red underwear...  Maybe that's why she is so lucky!  OK.... so I do have some good luck.  I have a sexy wife in red underwear.   Grin

question to the doctor   antminer sticks are flooding the market  they are a killer stick.   when do we get support for these?

Looking into this. No ETA yet.

Is there still a problem with the pool? It looked like things were starting to return back normal yesterday with my payouts amounting to the total number of bitcoins I am supposed to be making every 24 hours. Today I have only received 2 payouts thus far, less than half what I should be getting every 24 hours.
