@kaydenC wow 73-77, be prepared for RMAs haha ;p
No, but really, i cant imagine running cards for more than 6 months 24/7 at that temp, i dont do over 60, and thats just the "one hot card" that usually happens.
50° is my usual, makes for long life, is 7% hash really worth almost 30°? DAMN :/

I Think around 70 - 75 is still acceptable.

looks like i'm going to the correct direction,

I believe your airflow setup is wrong, You should consider this image as a reference.

The intake for FE of air gets from the fan point and exits at the point where your insert your HDMI port.

Temperature around 60 degree during mining is impossible without water cooling or powerfull external air conditioning. My guess: something is wrong  with sensors of your Zotacs.
Let`s assume that you significantly decreased power voltage and gpu core clock. You`d lose around 25-30% of power to make it happen, but decreased voltage would make your system highly unstable, so once again - something is wrong with your sensor or you are using external air conditioning.

that is such a load of horseshit. 90% of my gpus are below 60 C no extra cooling.

Just need to leave ~80mm gaps and hang the gpus vertically and force fan ~60%

lol i have a feeling you havent been mining long and/or dont own many cards Cheesy   the HEADACHE/time consumption of constantly having shit break down becomes ridiculous, and guess what? most retailers get preeeety tired of your RMAs, and will blacklist you from doing it
not to mention its not really the intended use , so your kinda a scumbag for abusing your warrenty in that way haha, but i wont judge Cheesy
I just take care of my shit, plain and simple, but i think thats the mindset of a previous generation, not the new gens Cheesy
It depends on what you count as "many cards". I've only been mining for the last two years though. Currently mining with 36x GTX 1080 Ti's + 1x GTX 1080 and 36x RX 570 + 2x RX 470 + 1x R9 Fury.

The retailers can't "blacklist" me because they have to follow the law. They wouldn't want to go out of business, you see.

Now, I feel like there should be more than 7% difference (obviously depending on the algo), but yes, it's absolutely worth it. Even if it was 7% higher hash rate, and even if the cards would break down in 6 months, it'd absolutely be worth it.

7% more income for 6 months is a lot more than the 1-5 days it takes for me to RMA the cards. And seeing they all have 2-3 years warranty - yes, absolutely worth it.

You`ve got Zotax 1080 ti, right? Are you using any additional external fans to cool backplate of your gpus?

Btw: you guys using CWI miner? the interface is, like, MUCH WOW, VERY SEXY.
I think you have to PM them to get in, but they say it will go open beta soon as well Smiley
Also, it hashes JUST as well (i think better), then SP mod, and its FREE, and dosent violate GPL lol
https://spee.ch/b/cwi.PNG

Forget that... if you are mining SiGT than go with ccminer 2.2 new release.

https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases

for 1080TI at 70% TDP i am getting 51 Mh/s +100 core clock -50mem clock.

makesure to get x64 version for 1080ti and x86 for gtx 1070s etc... weirdly the x86(32 bit version works the best)

Set the intensity to 26.5 and see the magic happens  Smiley

Note: you can do that by adding -i 26.5 at your bat file

Yeah...mine are good for nothing, I should just throw them in the trash!!

That`s a truly good example of how your shouldn`t keep your cards. I`m not trying to be rude, just a simple tip. Btw, I also have 5 x 1080 ti and I know what kind of heat they generate.
Ask folks here about their GPU average clock and temperature, because right now you are not only killing your gpus, you also lose money due to overheat when mining.

There`s one exception: u`ve got air conditioner located just above this case.
so what's the ideal way for 1080 ti miner ? Open Case ?

Mine are in open air racks

Still pretty hot, my mining room is about 35 degrees near the back. Those cards are 80% TDP, 80-90% fan, 77 degrees.
Cards closer to entrance is in 30 degrees ambient, 70% fan, 73 degrees, same 80% tdp.

Pascal's pretty sensitive to temperature, my FE cards hash 2-3% slower than the Evga SC2 cards as they are 10-15 degrees higher.

The racks have standard 16 inch home fans blowing on them.

meh, tbh, the INTERFACE is well worth it for me, ccminer is great and all but it kinda sux to sit and watch your CMD window waiting for each card to only show like every 30 seconds or more the actual stats :/
So with a 5-8 card rig i have to stand there and wait for ccminer to tell me one by one with other stuff between the wattage and other stats Sad
CWIminer has it live, all the time, right there
A simple remote into the rigs, 10 second look and remote out gives me all the info i need, instead of 5-8 minutes per rig with ccminer Sad

AND i usually set the "-q" option on ccminer for a clean screen, so 1/2 the time it WONT show stats at all as i told it NOT too haha

to each their own, i have my new fav miner Cheesy

I have 3 1080Ti and i am starting to debate is it still worth buying a 4th 1080ti and i am so tempted to take newegg/bestbuy 0% financing for 12 months to build another rig to mine... and have it pay off the bill directly in 1 year...

any advice on whether to keep buying 1080tis or wait for Vega to drop much appreciated... really hoping vega mining numbers will start coming out soon...

Wait 2 days for Vega and see how things look 😀

Yes you are absolutely right... i am sure nvidia will have some really good sale if the vegas are really decent... besides the rumours has any one seen/heard any solid mining hash rate reviews on Vega?

yupp, vega seems a bit of a miner flop (LOVE the look tho of the 64 liquid-cooled), but the green team miners may see 1080ti's get 100$ off to compete with vega. The NDA releases in like 10 hours from this post globally, im sure mining numbers will come soon after, but if you have read all the forums like i have: dont expect much. AMD mines ETH only really, and ETH relies on vega having WAY more mem bandwidth then it does to do even 50mh/s :/
no "driver updates" will fix that

i bought an antistatic brush and little electric compressor, i go over the machines every 3-4 weeks to keep them nice and clean Smiley

I do that too. Smiley
