For the same price? The Vegas are way scarcer than 1080Ti nowadays. Even newegg (yes, not the third party sellers) sells for $1300.
With that being said.... I think 1080Ti is more flexible in the algorithm choices. As far as I know the Vegas are better only at Cryptonight.

Yeah I just played with the OC settings and set the mem clock to +1000MHz and I'm now pulling 68MH/s.

Mine are set to 75% TDP and no overclocking at all. I guess my results are still within normal range.

Yeah using the Phi miner now, thanks. What kind of hashrate are you getting? I'm pulling 60MH/s with two 1080 Ti's which seems a bit low no?

What are you planning to mine? If your doing something like cryptonight (monero) the choice is obvious. Go with the Vegas
If Equihash then you need to be looking at 1080's. If power is a limiting factor then you should be leaning towards Nvidia

No clear cut answers, each of your available choices have strengths and weaknesses. The question is what are you planning to do?

Are you using ccminer to mine luxcoin? I downloaded it from github and my Windows Defender detected a malware. I probably downloaded an outdated version though, know where I could find a more recent one for Lux mining?

What is so bad about altminer?

Zpool has been up and down frequently as of late. YIIMP has been good on uptime but the stratum is constantly hammered.

All gtx 1000 series it is not possible to change bios, hence you can change timings there

All gtx 1000 series it is not possible to change bios, hence you can change timings there
