I actually got a payment today that was a straight shot (after a couple hundred hops) back to this address from the 150k withdrawal on August 31st.
A payment from where? Gox? SR?
Not sure, I'm waiting on a response from the sender.

Keep us posted. I'm very interested in learning more about this address.
I sent BTC to SR. One hop to an address provably controlled (via input-combining) by 1Dky. End of story.

1)  this is the god damn pirate wallet, 90%+ confidence.

2)  built this year, starting right when his scam was ramping up

3) died when the scam died

4)  rule out Gox / Silk Road, and it's only Pirate left:
4a)   SR does 22M in business per year, profits about 1M, and is likely quickly converted to USD
4b)  Gox isn't that stupid, wouldn't build a 500kBTC wallet (that's 5% of ALL btc) and this is not how a Gox cold storage wallet would look (why is it built in weekly / monthly regular headshots? only during this yr?  ending with a super-launder?)

Provide this "proof" I will try to make something of it.  If they are moving the coins to another address and storing them the same way we should soon see an address pop up in the top 10 richest addresses.  I feel that whoever's address it was didn't like getting so much attention and they split it up among many different addresses.
Not necessarily, if they've learned a lesson, they may be using multiple smaller addresses.
Obviously you didn't bother reading the rest of my post that you quoted.  Roll Eyes

I have "proof" but the problem is that they use a spinoff payment mechanism that changes the large balances they are paying from over time. I don't have time or the tools to go up the blockchain to prove it, but all Silk Road withdrawals in the last three weeks can be traced back to 1Dky and the addresses since broken off of it. 1Dky looks like it is/was a cold storage for Silk Road of some sort. My guess is that all new deposits are going into a new single address that is cold storage in a similar manner, just in reverse.

For the record, I suppose we can't rule out this isn't MtGox, either, but if so, it would mean that Silk Road is storing huge amounts of Bitcoin in MtGox's cold storage, because my tests have all been moving coin into and subsequently out of Silk Road (without purchasing anything).

Would you mind sharing your data with he community, so someone can use it and work on that?

I dont think there is confirmation that this address is owned by anyone.....

I am absolutely certain it's owned by someone.
Are you 100% on that?

Cats are remarkably manipulative. It would make sense the market player isn't someone...

So cats aren't people to you? Wait a sec, I have a 4chan post to make.

No need for you to be certain: someone definitely has the private key (else, there would be no way to send coins from it).

I think there are some claims that there is proof of silkroad deposits getting to the address in just 1 hop, but I have yet to see any transaction links of that claim. I dont think there is confirmation that this address is owned by anyone and it is related to a lot of different services; silkroad, mtgox, etc... but that is bound to happen with an address holding so many coins.

Why the 50BTC txs? Could this be related to GPUMAX (assuming it was said that gpumax has shared wallet with bcst)? Only speculating  Wink

There is more to Bitcoin than bitcoins.
September 11, 2012, 11:56:33 PM
We've seen coins before go directly to 1Dky after being deposited to Silk Road - that's a single hop.

Alright. Case closed, thread locked? Also, this:

Probably because too many eyes looking at it is bad for business.
I suspect you'll never see an address with that amount of Bitcoins again, even if the address belongs to MtGox and not to SR.

What would you do if 400 geeks spent most of the day looking at your bank account and posting on a forum even the tiniest tx you made in or out of your account?

I don't think that really tells you anything useful unless you plan to track the coins back a couple hundred steps.
