Four players have registered so far for today's tournament, but I'm sure there will be around 20 in the end(it's a pity that not 200, tho).

It seems vast majority of players prefer to register in the last moment and cut it close. There is still only 4 of us at the table. Maybe that is a part of the tactic so we don't know who we are up against Smiley

I am hoping for 18 players total with all the late regs included. That way I can keep my place at the table Smiley

Btw, thanks to @tyKiwanuka and others for suggesting to switch to 4-colour deck! Done. Indeed it is easier to play with a 4-colour deck. No flush will be missed from now on, even after two beers.   Grin

It looks strange first few hands, but after you get used to it, there is no going back to 2 color decks.

I stand with Ukraine.
Just sent 400 chips to „youcantwin“, so I'm playing today and tomorrow. Smiley

I went through this thread once again looking at those screenshots, intermediate leader-boards and discussions ... Idk, maybe it's because I'm doing good in the current series, but I enjoy rereading this stuff. Smiley

My personal status quo:

- Since switching over to sharing passwords with all "regulars" in advance, things got way easier, so that was a great help for me and we should definitely do this in future, too. Wink

- No more late registration in future series (easy!)

- We need to find a way to get rid of that 200 extra chips sending... I do not mean to get rid of the "extra prize pool" but about the hassle of sending those chips... If anyone can come up with an alternative... that would be greatly appreciated!! Cheesy

Please let's discuss this here and share your ideas/thoughts: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcointalk-poker-series-format-discussion-lets-keep-them-all-in-one-place-5247993

I guess we can leave this for a while then atleast until the 2nd series is over, 2 more games + Grand Final.

That is a given. It would be unfair to change rules in the middle of the series without really good reason.

No actually this idea was meant for the 3rd series in the first place anyway. I just got this inspiration from you in the last game. To be honest, I managed to get the third spot was because you knocked out alot of player in the last 10 people  Cheesy

I got 3rd position with 8 points, knocked out probably 1 or 2 guy while you get 9 points at the 2nd position with atleast 5 knockout probably. It was still good that you got the 2nd position and also 9 points but at the same time you could also be not getting any point at all even if you knock alot of people out if you ended up losing before top ten

but it would be a hell to implement fairly and probably not worth the hassle in the end. We should have a simple and straightforward system to make it easier for admins and newcomers.

You are right on this, it is a hassle anyway

Honestly, I don't think our current system is "bad"

It is great system indeed , just trying to add some point initiative for all those great knockout

I will not be as active as I used to be on bitcointalk going forward for several reasons so the timing isn't really perfect for me, haha - I will still try my best. Wink

You are doing great job for this community game, no worry and just take your time off for now

I agree - we can of course discuss changes in the respective thread SteamTyme created but really, let's try to keep things as simple as possible. I also love bounty kind of stuff, Knockout points etc. but implementing that... that's tough... even finding a consensus is going to be tough, not to mention the implementation.

Honestly, I don't think our current system is "bad" - if we get rid of that late registration in future (that some of you "hate")... I don't really understand what's so bad about how we are rolling atm - the points system could probably be pimped but other than that? Well, share your thoughts! Don't forget though, this is a poker series with a championship game...

@arallmuus thanks for the idea and yeah, let's discuss - I am always open to suggestions!

i'm open to KOs for points, although i find this common situation frustrating: player A takes most of player B's stack, then on a subsequent hand, player C finishes him off. player C gets the points of course, but player A is really the one who should be rewarded.

That kind of situation is tricky indeed, its the same when there was a bounty on Tyki's head. When he was down to his last chip, alot of people was throwing their chips on the table hoping to be the one to knock him out

There is no such perfect system but atleast I thought it could be an alternative to get some points instead of just trying to get into top ten  Smiley

i think everyone got exhausted with trying to figure out the perfect points system.

Coming weekend are already the last two games of the series. The time passed quickly again. Somehow it doesn't look good for me in this series and I only got 4 points. Next series I also play with poker cards and not with pokemon cards. Maybe it'll work out better.  Cheesy

i'm still in it---barely holding onto a spot, tied for 8th with @Improved. i definitely need some points this weekend to avoid getting bumped off.

it's not over until it's over. two strong finishes (top 3?) and you can still make it. Smiley

Im just wondering this, is it possible to add some sort of point for knocking out player in the 3rd series later ( Provided that we have the 3rd series ). So instead of trying to get into top ten to get points, some player could also be getting it after they knock someone out.

Something like half point or for each person knocked out (?)

Might trigger some big action from the start of the game I guess or perhaps putting up some point bounty on random person for more points, probably could make the game much more interesting. I am not sure if this is possible so yeah any other thoughts ??  Cheesy

Unfortunately, I have again no time and I also think I have no chance to come into the top 9 anyway. Either way, I wish you all a lot of fun on the next weekend and I'm curious who will participate in the final.  Smiley Cool

Anyway, I managed to kick you out (and at least 5 other players, maybe even closer to 10) so that something Smiley
It's a shock that you did not finish at 1st but this was your day mate. You destroyed everyone. And it was a good combination of skill and luck however the luck factor was higher than anything else in this tourney.

Congrats, bitmutiny, on beating someone favoured by poker gods in the end! Smiley

The poker god surely didnt love Trofo until the end of the game  Roll Eyes but still a grand achievement to be able to knock out that many player.

Don't know about everyone, but Trofo destroyed me, that's for sure. Smiley

Getting pretty weak pocket cards almost all the time, I decided to go all-in with QJs, and was immediately wiped out by Trofo with his AJo.

From what I know, QJs and AJo are equal in regards to their ability to bring you victory, QJs is a bit better even:

But, as others already mentioned, poker gods were with Trofo yesterday. Smiley

(Btw, if you're not familiar with that table yet, take a look. It can be pretty useful. It's not a computer simulation. "The statistics are based on 115,591,080 pair of pocket cards dealt at the real money tables.")

GG, everyone!

Congrats, bitmutiny, on beating someone favoured by poker gods in the end! Smiley

LOL Trofo
You gone ALL IN with some low cards?
I was watching your show. This was the third luck from bitmutiny. He could not capitalize his first two lucks though. You cam back strong.

Anyway, congratulations bitmutiny. Finally you got the lucky boy LOL

Yeah I lost my patience, the game stopped to be fun and I rushed it a bit. Could have won that last hand even with that cards. I had him in one hand before when we were all in until the last card flipped. I guess I had to stop being so lucky sooner or later.

Anyway, I managed to kick you out (and at least 5 other players, maybe even closer to 10) so that something Smiley

Gratz @bitmutiny

Betwrong and 1r0n1c should already have qualified for the Grand Final, but not 100% sure, maybe someone can run a simulation Grin

bitmutiny got his first money finish today (and it was the win !), BitcoinGirlClub his second.

yahoo62278 unfortunately ended his streak today and we are down to 7 players, who participated in all tournaments thus far.

Another Trofo luck LOL

I gotta say with the lowest chip holder on the table I had this urge to increase my stake but see how he got it? Called my over 4.5k chips with a Q10 int he pre-flop but in the flop he got more two 10s and I was fucked then.

F you Trofo 😘

Anyway, I managed to finish at 4th. Good improvement after all.

Damn guys, I'll get hiccups from all the talk about me.

I really had good luck on my shoulder today. I think I went all in at least 10 times and won almost all of them. Hope it will hold for a while longer.

Dang Trofo, you and I were discussing about how changing seat my affect your luck yesterday and today you seems to be rocking the table with the same seat . Top 3 now, lets see how your luck pull you to the top until the last second  Wink

I can only say that SwC doesn't like me last two weeks! I am losing tournaments, in cash games it's even worse situation. When I get flush I lose from full houses, when I get 3 of a kind I lose from straight... with top card pair I lose from two low pairs.. And now with A 9 I lose from Q 6! And mostly (in 90% situations) it happens on turn or river! That is the brain-teaser! Smiley

Happened to me as well in the last two games where I got 11th place , two times in a row. Sometimes the game just hate us that bad  Sad However I got few lucky hands today

Edit : I tried to bluff and paid the price lol  Cheesy. I need to learn to control myself to not bluff at some crucial times like the top 3 darn it

incredible how well Trofo is doing at the moment  Cool
congratulations for the courage and some luck🍻

You are saying it some luck? This guy is calling in calling in everything and getting luck LOL
He called big in pre flop with 44 got another 4 on the deck and there are many more hands where he was lucky, in fact extremely lucky and got away with them.

See this.

And this too

and in many more hands, he was lucky AF. 🤪

Well I guess I will not play grand finale this time! There are two more games, but with these cards I get I doubt I can do anything! Most of my winning hands are lies and it's just a luck that I won anything! Unlucky period is killing me!

these are the type of hands that make people say poker rooms are rigged for action. Tongue

bad weekend for me at the tables!

Bad weeks! So bad that I am thinking to not play poker and slots ever again (I had some nice gambling nights with some new casinos, but no luck for me apparently)! Smiley

For sure, I will not play cash games for some time, I will wait for next Saturday to play poker again!

Efi I owe you chips for this week! I turned off SwC, so I will send you chips tomorrow for this and next week! Smiley
