I think you should to invest in Ethereum and BTC, these are the main cryptocurrencies, and they will grow up soon, and you can take profit.
The selected coins you chose are quite good to invest into. You can also add more good altcoins like etherum and Bitcoin as well because when the bull market returns, solid coins are likely to grow with bitcoin more and a lot of coins on coinmarketcap wouid die off.
good strategy just invest half of altcoins that you mentioned they are good for long term investment and half invest to an ICO, but you should careful to invest of them you know scam ICO's are multiplying.
I think you should use 50% of the money to invest ico. The remaining 50% you should invest in topcoins to ensure your safety. Ico is always risky, and when starting new coin tend to decrease. You should be careful about distributing your money.
I would definitely put some on Bitcoin (300usd), Ethereum (300usd), XRP (200usd), NEO (200usd) and hold the remaining 1000 usd so I can buy again and do dollar cost averaging everytime there is a big drop on the prices of the coins that I have mention.

If I were about to invest certain amount of money, I would divide my investments into 3 parts:
-BTC (at least 50% of the investment)
- valuable altcoin: ETH or LTC (25%)
- other altcoins.
Guess that strategy is gives you a solid ground and a reasonable chance to earn more BTC.

Everyone have a suggestion where to Invest, either for ICO or on the posted Coins in the market. One should consider a well research market plan for such an investment. Remember, Market is Volatile, it is unpredictable, price value may goes up and may goes down dependent on the vilume of investment or the market movement. I think at the moment everything can be a good choice in long-term investments, prices that are relatively cheaper and almost more than 70% of value are lost. it is likely that if the market returns to stable growth, there are many crypto that can exceed the price previously achieved. it's just that, here we must be able to learn and be patient.

It depends on the risks you are willing to take, if you want to have the least risk you should stay in BTC but if you are looking for a more profitable but riskier alt you should take inspect them by yourself, I would taking a look at NANO (not all-in of course) it's a DAG that has Instant and Feeless transactions and can do 700+ transactions/s so it's way undervalued for what it is (the price is down 95% from ATH).
