I would keep some in bitcoin and look for some low cap undervalued coins to put the rest in. Do a lot of research and check out the activity on social media.

As for me, I would not invest in an ICO. At the moment, there is too much deception in this area, and it is quite difficult to find really worthy projects. My advice to you-invest in bitcoin and some altcoins, and will be a good result.

Stellar, ripple and ethereum are great if you buy them, but try to see EOS and NEO coins at a stable price you might be able to make a profit. I think if you want a long-term investment you should buy a lot of coins ethereum, of course, the current price is declining but it is the right time to buy it as an investment.

If I were about to invest certain amount of money, I would divide my investments into 3 parts:
-BTC (at least 50% of the investment)
- valuable altcoin: ETH or LTC (25%)
- other altcoins.

Guess that strategy is gives you a solid ground and a reasonable chance to earn more BTC.

Buy ETH. With 2000$ you can buy 4.4 ETH now. You just hold it till the end of the year. You will get at least 4000$. The market will go up in August and by the end of 2018 I firmly believe that the ETH price will be double that of the current

IMHO choose couple great ICOs, remember Quarckchain? All new blockchains are making X on the first listings.

Inform yourself on Oyster PRL project, it is good project and the price is pretty low now. But don't invest all your money on it, because it is too risky. Find few projects that have protential for growth and invest in more then one project.

Investing in ICO for me is not so bad if you can choose the right project and you also understand that, all the money you invest better is not kept in one place, the one I like most to use Bitcoin and also Ethereum, the obvious coin ahead, over time will grow big in the future, it is not in a hurry in investing, taking in a very cheap price, save for the long term will earn several times profit, hope you understand what you want.

You need to split your savings into a few baskets. Bitcoin, Ethereum, ICO, and possibly another two coins.

I think investing in icos is too risky for me as I have never luck to invest into a good one.  I will prefer you invest $1,700 in to about five existing project and which is doing very well in the market. The remaining balance can be invested into some good icos that are doing well.

I think Ripple and Stellar are much better than you investing in other altcoins, even ICO. That's because, Ripple and Stellar are excellent altcoins for long-term investments because of the currently relatively cheap price but with ongoing development.

You should take a risk with some portion of it and definitely consider and ico or a newly ico to market. A lot of icos end up tanking once they hit the market.
