From the way that I see it, every year can be bitcoins year, as long as the bitcoin survives. And we are really lucky because bitcoin is becoming more used and even stronger year after year.
you are definitely right about that in my opinion, i think that in the future the price of the bitcoin is going to be growing so next year is going to be big 
2017 could hopefully be the year that bitcoin finally starts becoming mainstream and the general public start to use it.

The fact is media will never show the positive sides of bitcoin and we all know that media has never supported bitcoins and that is reason bitcoin hold negative image in people.

Yeah, me too, so far 2016 has a bigger achievement already and we have witness that until now. Currently the price is rising so we don't know it this price pump will be great and surpass the all time high in the past, with this trend $1,000 dollars is easy before the end of this year.

The development of the bitcoin has slowed a lot recently. I think the trend will continue in 2017. So the price will not rise much.
Maybe the more cryptocurrencies introduced in the market the more it slow down? It probably creates more confusions especially to newcomers and to most people that have less or no knowledge at all.
Bitcoin will always be there holding some price, but I think 2017 will be the year of altcoins and we will see many new and innovative coins launched by that point.
Let's hope to that! It's good if we are gonna see a different page of the book of crypto-industry, not just always bitcoin.
But we should not forget the pioneer and which gave birth to them all.

Yeah and we have witnessed the same thing in this year as price almost went double compare to last year so if price crosses $1k in 2017 then it can be called as an year of bitcoin.
Yes it would be called bitcoin year if it reaches that amount aside from the day bitcoin was deleased. Everyone must be all happy especially those people who are patient with waiting for the bitcoin price to goes up again. I just wish that I have saved atleast half of bitcoin as I could make a really good start with it.

To be honest I hope that 2017 is going to be the year of the Bitcoin because 2016 has not really been a good year for the Bitcoin.
We still have a couple months before 2016 is going to end so maybe something will surprise us.
2016 actually has been good to bitcoin, considering we opened up the year at $400 and we're closing down nearly $600. And in this year as well, the community has grown quite an exponential rate and we've reached far more people and more materials for publications were done than in the past years. I see bitcoin ads floating all over. We still have a couple months before 2016 is going to end so maybe something will surprise us.
