The question is, what happens when a coin skyrockets to a price satisfactory to every investor? Definitely, more than 90% of the investors will begin to withdraw in order to make profit. This is one of the factors that has caused the drop in price of Bitcoin. It is called the correction period and until the investors reduce the withdrawal and reach a stage where another set of investments are made which surpasses the withdrawal, the bear market will continue.

I would argue that 90% of the investors would begin to withdraw in the case you described in the first sentence. Most of the current investors are not traders and they are not looking for profits in a short term. The main factor which caused the drop in price was not the selling by most investors, but rather the selling by a few but very wealthy ones, who are called “whales”. And we will continue seeing the bearish trends every time the price rises significantly until they will run out of their stashes, in other words, until all the coins they have will be distributed among millions of long-term investors.
it seems they know very well what to do, with the current conditions, indeed i think the whales are planning something to get big profits. technically the bearish trend still continues

The bitcoin has corrected far more than it was expected and I think all the big whales probably are out of the market and might be looking at opportunity to buy back lower so that they can make huge profits as bull run might begin when they enter and can en cash profits before the year end and have a great year. Keep buying on the dips to get the better profits on your money.

this year is a bad year for the crypto currency world. many crypto users or crypto currency investors have gone bankrupt and turned into traders or miners. at present, crypto prices continue to move down 70 percent from prices earlier this year. and at present, a critical condition for crypto users is because they are all worried that they will experience a large loss because their assets have decreased in value very much.
if they stay calm and well understand about cryptomarket they would not sell asset in bearish market.they made a mistake when become investor, didnt prepare their self well.

As we witnessed a bearish year which lasted longer than the prediction and some people was it was the bad year for crypto but i feel it was a the year of correction as the value of crypto were overachieved at the end of 2017. Hence we are having a correction period to what the real value should had been? Kindly share your opinion.

Yes, the bubble in 2017 had to be corrected and balanced out for Bitcoiners to make some profits in 2019. Even the stock markets has to go through some correction phase, now and again. I think we have reached the bottom end of the correction phase and we are going to get into a Bull market soon.

I hope Bakkt will be the trigger for the Bull market and it will push us back to a even higher ATH in 2019.  Wink
What goes up must come down. The cryptocurrency market is under heavy correction because there was a huge pump in the market which may lead to huge dump also. Hopefully we're expecting the market to start recovering very soon for 2019 to make crypto great again.

Yes, I agree with you that 2018 is a year when almost all crypto currencies undergo massive corrections, this greatly affects the mentality of new investors who have just entered in 2018, this makes them very confused to take the attitude of price movements, they finally sell panic for fear of experiencing a deeper loss, this panic selling action is certainly a trigger for deeper price corrections, I hope the next year will be a year where the price of crypto currency is very potential
That is because changes will surely happens because it needs a creation with master piece that is the reason why 2018 will be the year of massive correction. It needs to prepare for specialty creation the can be lead to the futuristic and adventurous. Every year their will be possible to happen either great idea or non sense but everything will happen for a reason.

Yes, at the end of 2017 there was a huge HYIP on cryptocurrencies and prices soared very high, so it is not surprising that this year there was a recession. It is not known how long this will continue, but if we want to be successful in this industry, then we must remain here and believe until the end in crypto-currencies.

It was something like that, but I could not call 2018 the year of correction. The correction simply cannot last for many months. It was a period of stagnation as perssimist say, and the optimists will call it the stabilization.
In my opinion, we can no doubt call it the year of correction because the market is down and it has natural tendencies to get back to the point of equilibrium so yes this year has been a recovery period.
each rise movement there always correction to make market become healthy.after peak movement investors take profit and make market down was normal in market cycle.
Yes it is normal to see the rise and fall in price sometimes it get high when most of people try to buy bitcoin and get income for holding it long time, reaching price at peak is itself and sign that now is the time to sell our coin, so after too much selling price gets down, so that is time when we should buy and hold to see the price to be high.

Well, the price rally took place in the last quarter of the last year was the result of the involvement of the big whales and institutional investors. However, the price could not recover at the rate at which we were expecting and hence price never reached high levels in the rest of 2018. However, I believe that the year 2019 would be the path-breaking year and we should expect the growth in this year which would shape the next decade. After all, we must realize the fact that crypto sector is still in the basic phase of development and we have a long way to go.

We are still in the early stage of development and adoption, that's true, but the "long way" may be much shorter than it seems at the moment. One of the first steps in the direction of higher adoption, imo, is realizing that the word "correction" shouldn't be used when talking about processes like those which were happening during this year. "Correction" implies the rectification of errors, but we can't really say that the $20k price for 1 BTC was an error. The same word was used a lot during the 2014-2015 decline from $1,200 to $200, but can we say now that $1,200 for 1 BTC was the wrong price? I propose to use the word "correction" when the price is rising rather than otherwise.

Now when we are aproaching the end of the year we can indeed say that this year was the year of correction. Although after last year everyone expected bullish trend to continue and Bitcoin goes higher than ever just the opposite happened. There were no biger fluctuations all over the year but I think there were no biger injections on the market from big investors and whales.
I expect for 2019 to bring some positive movements but still I don't expect to see too much pumps. Let's get pleasntly surprised.

2018 - the beginning of the bearish year, 2019 will continue to be bearish one and only in the end of 2019 we will see some rising

Does not seems that you will have to wait for 2019 end. It could be well before itself where the rise will happen and may be in Dec this year itself we can see some bounce back to happen. So it seems you being probably not invested in this dropped market infact it is the time to make purchases with lower value and hold it for some months.

Are you invariably telling us to take the correction of prices as the sole reason for the persistent price slumps throughout the year so far? I think we should at least have a little step up in the prices. The current price situation is too low for the market.

Judging by how the market had feared this year its very obvious that its has been very bearish and probably a year of correction as rightly said by the OP however how long this correction is going to last? is a  question begging for an answer because bitcoin had so far defies many predictions and speculation this year.

I am not of the opinion that the current phase of correction will last only one year. Look back and see what happened after 2013. There was a continuous three-year correction phase from 2014 to 2016. I am afraid that this can happen once more.

I think its obvious that 2018 is not good year for cryptocurrency. 2017 is best year for cryptocurrency so far and its true that 2018 is correction year. Hopely next year is good year for cryptocurrency and the price bouncing up

Yes, in my opinion, we will experience an entire year of correction after the 2017 bull run. Probably 2019 will be a better year  Wink

I agree and many shit coins are needed to be removed in the market
Let this bearish market decides who will stay and needs to go

Most of those coins do not last long in the market anyway, the real problem is that after those coins disappear there is a new coin ready to take its place and that happens because investors do not learn their lesson, they invest in useless project after useless project losing money in the process thinking that this time is going to be different when we know that it isn't.
