yes, eth has many things to prove this year. after the big price collapse last year, investors were fed up with eth, even its hard fork wasn't that successful but after a couple of months, we can see a positive impact of the fork! So, Ethereum's dApps and upgrade network are the main elements which can bring the popularity of ETH back again! And, after all of this, I believe Ethereum will win in this year.

Ethereum needs to solve its main problem this is a problem of scalability and only then the price will start to grow
As far as I know the ETH network update has already happened and everything well, but as we see today the price of ETH doesn't increase. But I am sure that by the end of the year the price will increase significantly.

Well it might be while on the other hand it might a breakthrough year, as this space is unpredictable. To begin with, I think Ethereum team should work more to ensure the blockchain is scalable so as to achieve high TPS.
