The Christmas matches were all excellent. We've always seen very competitive games. I watched all the games and I enjoyed it immensely and I'm sure everyone who loves the NBA enjoyed it as well. As LeBron said, Christmas is the day of the NBA.
All the games were very close. There were incredible individual performances. Wemby, Bridges, Kyrie, Maxey, Tatum, LeBron, Curry, all of them had great performances. I haven't had such a good NBA night in a long time. I don't have high hopes for the All-Star game, so yesterday's games will be special for me until the playoffs.

Miami Heat has already released statement about Jimmy Butler on trade rumors. Here is the statement from the Miami Heat x Pat Riley:

Statement from Pat Riley

"We usually don't comment on rumors, but all this speculation has become a distraction to the team and is not fair to the players and coaches. Therefore, we will make it clear - We are not trading Jimmy Butler."

Reading the comment from that post, they still believe that Jimmy Butler will be traded. Lol, just in case that happens, I want to see Jimmy Butler playing in Charlotte. The question is, what is the chance of that will going to happen.

I don't know if I would believe anything that Pat Riley has to say.  He seems like he would only make a statement to manipulate the situation.  Still, everyone seems to say Jimmy isn't going anywhere so we'll see.  I think where there's smoke there is fire and Jimmy is probably worried about his reputation and doesn't want to be looked at like LeBron for leaving Cleveland.  It seems obvious that Jimmy wants out though.  Even if he does stick around to finish the season, I'm guessing he starts next year in a new uniform.

The Jimmy Butler drama continues as he wants to be out of Miami before the trade deadline which is February 6th. LINK

Six-time NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler prefers a trade out of Miami ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline, league sources told ESPN.

ESPN reported in the Inside Pass on Dec. 10 that the Heat are willing to listen to trade offers for Butler, and that Butler wants a win-now contender in any deal. Butler has not formally requested a trade, sources said, but is believed to be ready for his exit.
I highlighted "win-now contender" because he wants to win a title now that he's nearing on his post-prime years. The Heat now wants to center their team around Bam and Herro which are obviously younger. Based on that article, he's open to trade destinations such as Houston, Golden State, Phoenix, and Dallas. With these 4 teams, I believe the most team that will need him the most is the Golden State Warriors especially now that Steph is at the same age as Butler, they're on a win-now mode as well. They can just trade Wiggins, some young players and draft picks.

Butler will have a player option next year so if things will not be working on his way, he can just opt out and be a free agent. TBH, the receiving team would be at a disadvantage I believe especially if they will throw many players just to get him and, in the end, he will just become a free agent. It's like throwing your future into somebody that can't help you to win a title for at least 3 years.
Would love to see Jimmy Butler traded to the Pacers but I doubt they could make that happen. Usually I don't wanna see my team pick up older players but Butler still has a few years left and could really help a team become a contender. Guess it would really depend on what the Pacers had to give up for him, Long as they kept Myles Turner, Haliburton, and Siakim they could trade the rest of the team IMO.

Curry hit some insane back-to-back shots to tie the game, but unfortunately, the Warriors couldn’t hold their defense and allowed Reaves to make the game-winning layup. I was really hoping the game would go to overtime as that was the only way the Warriors could cover the spread.

Even with AD unable to return, the Lakers still managed to beat the Warriors on their home court. This Warriors team just isn’t the same anymore. I keep promising not to back them, but somehow, I always end up breaking that promise. It’s frustrating!

That back-to-back basket excite the fans but unfortunately Reaves manage to made that layup and win the game, it's something that for sure those who back them expecting that they will play good at home all are dissapointed, especially that they are playing against AD-less Lakers, it was the determination of all Lakers players who gives them the win, LeBron leads them in scoring but Austin got his triple-double and that winning last shot that gives them the win.

Curry did have some great moments yesterday but it wasn’t enough. Even his end of game heroics were when the game was seemingly already out of reach. The highlights are less impressive in a loss. Wemby on the other hand not only got the win, but was a highlight machine. Some of the things he did yesterday were unreal.

Many people got disappointed on what they see since its like they are only good on early quarters but got choked on crucial minutes. Many people though that they already got the advantage on that game knowing that AD unable to return while Warriors is doing good and playing at home.

Guess nothing much to expect with them this season since its like they cannot keep up their momentum and at the end they end up losing.

But even though they get disappointing ending still this game is fun to watch.

A good day of basketball. I think Christmas Day is the one thing the NBA is doing right these days. Having all the games on a single channel is a nice improvement. The only real surprise for me today was the Philadelphia 76ers beating the Boston Celtics. Other than that, the stars shined as expected and the better teams won.

To be fair, 76ers had their full healthy roster including Embiid while Maxey is on fire that he can duel with Tatum toe to toe. Boston has been losing a lot of their previous games so this is not a big surprise.

Besides, 76ers ranked should be higher if they have this line-up consistently without any injury. It’s not a bad lose for Boston since they are already losing prior to this match.  Wink
We still need to see Paul George though to really contribute for Sixers and not just rely to Embid and Maxey. They've gotten him to be another scoring option but it seems that he is still struggling to make his impact on the team. I do agree that they should be in the better position but Joel has suffered some injuries early and then restriction minutes was put into him. But if they are completely healthy like the Bucks, they could really be a good team in the East and they can show their full strength and should in the better position by now. So let's see how their health will go and hopefully Joel is not as fragile this season like AD.

The fact that Lakers are going nearly %50 recently is a good sign. I think giving Lebron that famous break helped them a lot, many Lakers fans are even calling for a week break for Lebron after every 15 games, which would be a new method of resting, but could really work out great for them. If they do that, like seriously give him a week break after every 15 games, there are 50 games left, which means about 3 weeks of break for him, and could help him a lot to keep himself rested for playoffs as well. That sounds like a good deal if you ask me and could get his 40 year old body to regenerate enough to do well at playoffs.

Plus, they are ranked seventh now, that seems like a good deal, one win and they are in playoffs and I believe they could do fine, they won't face anyone too tough this year.

The team that won the California derby was the Los Angeles Lakers. The bad trend continues in Golden State. With the defeat in this match, they lost 9 times in the last 12 matches. They had a good start to the season, but they have been losing constantly lately. They need to catch a winning streak.
Draymond Green's very little contribution to points in recent matches also affects the team negatively in critical matches.
Although he contributed defensively with 10 rebounds in this match, his 3-pointer was bad for his team.
As for the Los Angeles Lakers, things seem to be going well for now. King LeBron is at the helm of his team at full capacity this year.

Yeah, not sure what happened to the Warriors lately, they started hot but they can't hold the momentum of winning. Now they have acquired Dennis Schröder, but still not enough for them to make that big win.

And then are known to be a good home team, but in this games against the Lakers, they disappoint their fans on Christmas game. There are now talks about Kuminga being offloaded by the Warriors as well. Maybe next year something big is going to happen to them within the trade deadline.

I think there is also some upset, as the Dallas team lost to the Wolves and Warriors as well against the Lakers. As for the Wolves win, they are lucky that Lucky got injured in the second quarter and was not able to come back.

Although they have build a good lead from the beginning. But Mavs shows that they can bail without Luka with just Kyrie and Klay and rest as they climb back. But ANT put the team in his shoulder and put a good lead in the last 40 seconds. I have been criticizing Randle for not passing the ball, but this time he did, he even had an assists to Gobert for easy basket. So they are now improving at least in this game.

LeBron James and Stephen Curry are putting on a show through three quarters on this Christmas Day game. Wiggins started off doing pretty good as well. Through three quarters LeBron’s Lakers are winning, but it is still anyone’s game. I feel like these Christmas Day matchups are more exciting than the NBA Cup.

They already made a mistake for trading Holiday and now they want to repeat the same situation with Middleton? Crazy that they already have those good players that can help them win a championship.

It's worth noting that Middleton hasn't played many games over the last 3 seasons(including this one), and his stats have slipped compared to his performance during the Bucks' championship season. With that in mind, I wouldn't be surprised if Middleton finds himself a new team next offseason, especially since his current contract with the Bucks is coming to an end.

Well, so far it looks like Wemby is going to have the stat line of the day after helping his team upset the New York Knicks. The Philadelphia 76ers also destroyed all my parlays by beating the Boston Celtics. That’s what we have so far. Now it looks like we’ll get to see Steph and LeBron face off, followed by seeing what Durant can do…

Yes, he was part of their core team, he just got injured that's why he can't play that much and him this season. But he is still reliable for them, although what they lack is the second unit. They are not that deep like their previous years, but the good thing is that they were able to catch up right now and winning a lot of games lately including the NBA cup.

Hopefully it will not be a curse for them, just like the Lakers last year, when they won, they went nosedive after that and can't build a momentum from that series. Next for them is against the Nets so I think they can also win this game.

Yeah right though there's nothing impossible with how the owners and the management treat their players, they are all aiming for the business side, if they'll trade him then maybe just like Holiday he's more reliable after being traded, unless Middleton went to a non competitive team then he might end his career without any competitive achievements.

Though if it's still possible to work with their chemistry they are still competitive and like what you mentioned after winning that NBA cup might be giving them a good boost to play harder.

They already made a mistake for trading Holiday and now they want to repeat the same situation with Middleton? Crazy that they already have those good players that can help them win a championship. But they let those good guys go away and start rebuilding with new player. if Bucks really aiming to win a championship they better create a solid second unit since as being mentioned this is what they actually need. They have a good team already and I think what they need is to make theirselves comfortable on how the coach handle their team so that everything goes well to them. Its good that they win the NBA cup since this will solidify their belief that their team is capable to win more games and hit their championship goals.
