Lakers are at risk of not qualifying even in the play-in tournament.

They are ranked number 10 now and the Spurs have a great chance to replace them.
What are your thoughts about their situation guys? Looks like they are a complete failure already.

They had already played with a low performance all year and they caught a new losing streak all the time. When the team is missing even one or two players, they don't have much chance and they lose the matches. I think it will be difficult for them to play the playoffs this year, even if they do, they won't be able to do anything and they will be eliminated early on Cheesy

I think that would really happen because if they'll be lucky to pass the play-in tournament, they are still going to face the Suns in the playoffs and we know how good this team is doing lately. Lebron cannot handle his team with an inconsistent Westbrook and an injured Davis.

What are your thoughts about their situation guys? Looks like they are a complete failure already.
What worse with them is that, their 7 games will be one of the hardest and the deciding factor as well whether they will enter the play-in tournament or not. Just see their remaining games and 5 of them are from the top teams right now.

With regards to them being a failure, its pretty obvious that they are. Many are expecting that they will at least win the championship but now look what is happening with them. There is also a chance that they can't even enter the play-in since they are 11th if they will continue to play like this. I think I will agree with what others is saying here that they will not enter the play-in because of their schedule and the absence of their players when they need them the most. Lets move on with them I think and talk with other teams as well. Many are talking about the Lakers too much that we forgot other teams already. Smiley

They are already out of the playoff picture, currently ranked at number 11 but tied with a win-loss record with the spurs.
Spurs are playing with Memphis now, they were down but now in the 4th quarter, they played better and were able to make this a very close game.

2 points lead by Memphis only, I would expect that they'll win this game and make the home crowd happy.

Yes, but the Spurs lost to Memphis, so Lakers are now back in the play-in picture.

Lakers need to win their next game so they would go ahead of the Spurs, right now, they are still in danger of losing the opportunity to play in the play-in tournament. Lakers next game is against the Jazz, this is a tough game for them, but they need to win.
I just made a quick google search into what is the record of LA Lakers when they are playing on the road and its quite disappointing to see.
Out of the 37 road games so far, they only won 11 of it and lost 26 with a total win percentage of 29.7%. You can see it here.

What's even worse is that the 5 of the 7 games that they are playing is the top teams and with that 5 games, 4 of them will be played in their own home court that means Lakers will play on the road against the top teams in their remaining schedule. Just by seeing at their win-loss record, I don't want to expect too much with this Lakers team anymore. They are done this season. The next 2 games of Spurs are against the Blazers which is struggling right now though the remaining 4 are against the top teams as well.

Yeah, that what an ouch moment, with Johnson missed that shot. A very good and deceptive play by the Spurs and they executed it very well to perfection it's not that ball didn't fall for the Spurs. It was a valiant effort though, I have the Spurs +5.5 when I sense that they are going to come back from the deficit, so a good win for me.
Pops still have that kind of slick play, truly one of the greatest coaches. Written well, execution is near perfection. He may just have put more English in that ball that's why it rolled. That feeling might've sucked for him as it was just there, the big win to be on top of the Lakers.
What I love is how the Grizzlies are not just giving any win to any team. They may be the number 2 seed now and protected for a playoff spot but if someone wants to steal a win from them, they have to earn it. They always play hard no matter what so I guess the Spurs will appreciate that instead of glooming over that missed layup.
6 games are left and the next two should be easy ones. Back to back in their home against the Trail Blazers.

That's a nice stuff for the Grizzlies even though Ja wasn't there to play the game. I just hope they'll be able to showcase this during the playoffs when they need it the most and the pressure is more superb. I wouldn't doubt them but playoff atmosphere is on a different league.

They'll be an improved team this coming playoff as they already earned a good experience last playoffs.

From what I saw in this team, they are full of chemistry, though they are a young team they are brave enough to face the top teams in the NBA, and this season is their biggest chance to win a championship, so I will watch them closely and make sure I'll also put my bet every time they play.

Last year was break out run of Memphis, but they fell short. But just like any other teams, they mature this year that's why they are one of the hottest team and clinching a playoff berth, winning their conference and then coming in at 2nd place is already a big accomplished for them this season. So we will see if they have the momentum and carry that in the playoff because that is the most important aspect right now. To reach the finals in the stack up Western conference.
IIRC, Memphis beat the Warriors in the play-in tournament but they lose in the first round.

It was a lesson learned for them, and they really make that as an inspiration to get better, and like what expected, they now belong to the top 3 teams in the West and of course, I believe they'll pass the first round as a sign of improvement.

Lakers are lucky the Spurs also lost their game against the Grizzlies in a close battle.
The ball rolled in the ring and went outside, Keldon Johnson devastated as he lay on the floor. But that was an amazing game they showed and I really wish that ball went in.
That win could've been separated them from the tie in the 10th seed with the Lakers.
While on the Lakers side against the Mavs yesterday, meh.  Embarrassed Doncic dominated the game.

The game between Cavaliers and Mavericks drew my attention a lot last night. It was an important game for both sides in fact. Because if Cavaliers won, then they were going to have an important victory for top six. If the opposite happened, then Mavericks were going to consolidate their place in top six. Thanks to especially their performance in the third quarter, Mavericks won by a result like 120-112. And they have guaranteed qualifying for 1/8-finals now. Doncic was great again by 35 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists.

Memphis Grizzlies has made history again by winning the game today against the San Antonio Spurs which made the Spurs out again in the play-in tournament. The Memphis Grizzlies have won the Southwest Division for the first time ever. They are strong without their star player Ja Morant and even stronger when he is on the court. This young team has a promising future in the upcoming playoff tournament and they have all the means to turn things around and win a championship this season.

It is quite sure that they were always at risk of not even playing in the play-in. I mean look at the team now, they are very inconsistent and an exact opposite from the supposed superteam that would dominate the league.

They are now in the 11th spot and the San Antonio Spurs have successfully replaced them from the 10th seed. I can see that they will be consistent on losing on their upcoming games. How can I say so? Well, just look at the teams that they will face in the remaining games Grin

Both teams have only 7 games left to play before the end of the regular season. So if Davis and LeBron don't come back, the current Lakers roster will likely only be able to win one game against the Thunder. By the way, the Spurs will also have difficult opponents in the upcoming matches. However, they are a bit lucky because they will play against the Blazers twice.

They are now totally eliminated I think even Spurs will lose some of their remaining games.

Looking at the Lakers' remaining games schedule, they will face some of the monster teams in the league, Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets, and Golden State Warriors. How can they beat these and get a 4-0 win.

Low chance for the Lakers to get a win at these teams even they will play healthy and Anthony Davis will be present.

There is not much time left for a solid game: Cleveland Cavaliers - Dallas Mavericks. Mavericks are seen as the favourite team of this game now by the bookmakers. The odds are paying out like this: Cavs: 2.10, Mavericks: 1.76. Mavericks are in a good condition in their conference. Their place is secured for now but I can't say the same thing for Cavs. Because they have gone down to the seventh position in the standings and fighting for climbing to top 6 again. Maybe it will be hard but Cavs might have a chance here to win.

As of writing, the Cavaliers are in lead at 7 points after being down for at least 8 points max in the early minutes.

But knowing Mavericks, that shouldn't be a problem for them not to bounce back later in the game. If the Cavaliers will able to maintain their good ball rotation after redeeming the lead, they can probably win the game.

Anyways, too early to speculate as halftime is just approaching. If you think the Cavaliers will win, try betting on the Live Bet although it should be good timing when they are downed by 5-8 just a while ago.

... . On the other hand Embiid and Harden made a pretty good duo. They just lack of bench players who can score, they definitely need more points from other guys if they want to go on in play-offs.
The Sixers bench players outscored the Buck's second unit if you look at the stats. It's probably bad decision for Doc to have a starter play for 20 minutes and score only 2 points in one attempt. Maybe he needs to draw more plays and let the other guys get involved with scoring instead of relying heavily on Embiid and Harden.
