Dallas Mavericks sent Tim Hardaway Jr. and 3 second-round picks to the Detroit Pistons, while adding Quentin Grimes to their roster in return.
Smart move by the Dallas Mavericks. After all the role of THJ to the Mavs, he didn't even did it right and now he's going to a shitty team.

Well, no offense about the Detroit Pistons. They were once one of the best team but that era has been gone long time ago and that roster way back then was good compared to theirs now.

While I appreciate Cade Cunningham, he should be transferred to a better team and get some help from other stars.

No way Detroit let's cade go that would completely destroy theor rebuild.  He is the piece that needs to take the next step.  In terms of moves I think it was a good one for Dallas.  Quentin is a solid backcourt defender and with Luka and kyrie getting all the pressure on offense q can just spot up and shoot 3s all day.

It will be great for Mavs to add additional shooter in their team and KCP for sure would be a perfect fit on their team. Hardaway Jr Performance decline that's why I guess Mavs should trade him to get more better player that can help their team in terms of perimeter shooting next season.

KCP contract is much lesser than Hardaway Jr so I guess maybe they could save some from acquiring that guy.
If we compared their performance, it will be KCP who will win because he played good defense and can shoot the 3's when it matters, in short he is a clutch  player and Dallas would be lucky if they'll be able to get him and trade Hardaway who are barely used in the playoffs.

To bad for Miami to have bad season due to injury but I guess next season they can recover their roster still intact and I still guess they are still a title contender team. Its good that they secured Bam because he's so really helpful and a total performer on Heat. For sure next season still exciting with their team.
Injury is fine but it's Butler, their best player so the impact is really huge. I think Miami should get another player that could really help Butler to lessen the load, a player that is a good scorer and could generate points in the paint and outside so he'll be unpredictable.

KCP seems to be targeted by the Dallas Mavericks. This will be phenomenal if they can acquire him. He has a higher defensive rate against guards and they badly need that considering how they were lacking in defense and it surfaced in the series against the Boston Celtics.
But I bet he will be pricy and the Mavs might let go some of their bench.

Yeah, we will be sort of their replacement for Hardaway Jr if they can acquired the veteran and experienced of KCP, but it will cost them a lot and money too as for sure it will not be very cheap. But let's see who will be the next one to go.

For Duncan Robinson, I also observed that his playing time has suffered, and if not for most of their players getting injured last season, he might not see some playing time. Before him and Hero combination are deadly, specially that both can shoot from the outside although Hero has evolved so much now. He is no longer that catch and shoot player but he can play defense and penetrate the basket. So Duncan should learn from Hero to not just rely on his outside shooting.

Bam Adebayo signed a 3-year, $166 million max contract with the Miami Heat.
This is good for Bam, he's been doing well for the Miami heat so he deserves that.
Yes, and he deserves it. It will be hard to find a big man as agile as him and he is growing. He may not be the best in defense but his offense is surely something to look forward to.
The Miami Heat doesn't lack good players, they are just with different injured players and I think Coach Spo should think about maximizing the usage of Duncan Robinson. He played really well when he was given good minutes.

He got injured if I'm not mistaken and his role diminishing when Kyrie really blend it well and bring them to the Finals. Just unfortunate that after having a good season last year, Tim Hardaway will now be on a not so championship caliber team.
While the rookies drafted to any team are totally but someone who's been in the league thrown to a team like the Pistons is like that no hope is there to even reach the seeds or playoffs.

And this could be the start of the decline of Hardaway Jr career, being thrown to the Pistons who had a lot of problems and the worst team last season. Just very unfortunate, but he had to accept it and just take advantage and show what he is made of out of the Detroit team.

Clint Capela could still be their center, but his plays as well is declining. It will be interested to see Risacher and Trae combination. Risacher is more of a wing player, catch and shot so probably they beef up and will go with outside shooting this season.
Can't say more about the Pistons being a worst team on this era. They need to rebuild the team and get more help from other veterans. But it seems that they can't extend their budget to have some better players.

Good luck to the new tandem for the Hawks though but we haven't seen Risacher and Trae play. The chemistry will still depend on how well they are together.

Because there is a chance that they might do well as per the expectations that we're having.

As for Trae Young, I don't think that the Hawks are going to trade him, they have the number 1 pick overall in Zaccharie Risacher. So maybe the Hawks are going to experiment him and Young that's why they are willing to let go of Murray.
Trae is the face of the Hawks just as the Memphis with Ja and the rest of the faces too. They're going to make something out of Risacher and Trae but I think that they need a real big man.

Trades are coming. The Atlanta Hawks have traded Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans for:

Bam Adebayo signed a 3-year, $166 million max contract with the Miami Heat.
This is good for Bam, he's been doing well for the Miami heat so he deserves that.

KCP is now a free agent.
Denver nuggets guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to decline player option, will become free agent

Rumors going around that the Golden State Warriors are blocking Andrew Wiggins from competing in the Olympics on Team Canada because they don’t want to take the risk of him getting injured while they try to trade him this offseason. Pretty messed up if true, but the Warriors have been pretty good to Wiggins so I guess this is him returning the favor by being silent on the issue.
I've read this as well, this is bad for Wiggins. He's got no freedom to represent his country for the Olympics and then he's the expectation that he's gonna be traded away by the Warriors.

Good for KCP, perhaps he is following Bruce Brown footsteps wherein he got a good contract after leaving the Nuggets the previous season or the season that they've won the ring.

Quote
Bruce Brown will remain a Toronto Raptor for at least a little while longer.

The team announced that it has picked up its $23 million option for the guard before Friday's deadline.

Brown, 27, joined the Raptors in January as part of the deal that sent Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers. Through 34 games in Toronto, he averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists 55.7 per cent true shooting.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article/raptors-picking-up-bruce-browns-23-million-option-for-2024-25/

So most likely he might be getting around that contract or that amount of money in year or even more. He is a good role player in the Nuggets though, so for sure Denver will have to find a replacement for KCP, a player that can bring more into the table at both ends of the floor.

The Murray move seems a lot like the Hawks are throwing in the towel and rebuilding. I wonder if Trae Young is next… I think we’ll probably see Trae Young traded if you ask me, but I haven’t heard anything official on that front yet. It doesn’t make sense to keep him in a rebuild to me. He’s their next best trading piece.

I don't think the Hawks will trading Trae Young, there have been numerous talks about the need to trade either player since their season ended, and to rebuild they'll definitely be need one of them as well, the decision obviously is to stick with Trae Young now, there still will be a number of trades by to get completed by the Hawks in my opinion most likely from the free agency pool, because they sure still need few key pieces to solidify their roster.
Atlanta could get a haul from trading Trea so if they are thinking of going for a complete rebuild, now is the perfect time while Trea is a hot commodity. 2-3 1st round picks is possible for a player with his talents along with a bench player or 2.
I agree trae is a liability on defense great shooter and make great plays but he dont have a chance on other players , today's nba point guard guards are like PF, players really evolve, trae is still hot in the market, lots of teams willing to have that kind of skills, since they have defenders, and need a scorer.

I am curious if there are any sportsbooks in the NBA (accept crypto) that you are able to bet on NBA draft events.
I'm just curious because I haven't yet tried it, I am also curious what the odds look like and how you can bet.
IIRC, last year stake has it for the sequence of picks. Unfortunately, I haven't checked it this time before the draft happened.

It was also available in sportsbet the last time I checked, but like you I was also not able to bet.

We can see the odds here ;
https://www.ajc.com/sports-betting/how-to-bet-on-the-nba-draft-2024-first-pick-odds-and-more/PULGOX52EBBENAVUEAC3KZOOS4/

For Bronny James, he also has a betting odds.
Quote
Bronny James: Over 47.5 picks (-170), Under 47.5 picks (+130)
And the over 47.5 odds is the winner, however, it's -170, so I doubt many have won.
There's so much media exposure on that draft just for him. He's able to take over even the #1 draft pick so I guess this publicity that he's getting from them aside from being into the bookies for this draft is being liked not just by him but mostly by his beloved team, the Lakers.
Well, I can't wait for the start of this season to see how much playing time that the rookies will be given by their respective teams. And before I forget, with the draft gamble and odds, there's gonna be one awaited bet again for this year for these rookies and that's about who's going to win the rookie of the year award for this upcoming season.

Honestly I didn't even think to bet that.  I thought he was gonna go undrafted.  I would have taken that bet even if it was -200 or higher.  Bronny is not a top 50 player in the draft by a mile.  This is nothing more than a marketing gimmick and it's going to be ultra annoying all year long listening to everything bronny and dad do together.
