The NBA has just announced a lifetime ban for player Jontay Porter from the Toronto Raptors for violating the league’s gaming rules. Jontay was apparently quite the gambler and while he claimed he never bet on his own games, the league still decided there was enough gambling to ban him forever. Tough break…
He's like Tim Donaghy but the player version. Cheesy
Anyway, what's ironic is that they are partnered with other gambling companies like DraftKings, but don't allow players to bet on games. I guess that's because it might affect the outcome of the game, and the performance of players. For me, giving him a lifetime ban serves right. Is he the first player who got banned because of gambling-related activities??

The Lakers took the 7th place, fulfilling the expectations of the majority. LeBron went 23-9-9. D-Lo's influence is undeniable. The Lakers' narrow rotation was enough for the play-in, but they don't have much chance in the play-offs. Although Zion scored 40, the Pelicans lost because Ingram and McCollum played very badly. Fortunately they have one more chance. They need to use it well against the Kings.
If only Zion played all throughout the game, they will win on that one that's for sure.
I mean he's having his one of his best performances, and that's also his first playoff game. When they needed him the most, that's when the body didn't cooperate with him and got injured unfortunately. What's worse is that the other 2 key players Ingram and McCollum are playing like they came from G-league. Very disappointing, but they still have a chance against the Kings.

~
A sweep is not impossible but I could see Lakers maybe getting a win there too, I am not entirely sure if Lakers even believes they could win, let alone others and I believe that Denver Nuggets are a team that would be hard to beat by anyone this season, with no injuries and Jokic playing like an MVP still, they are a great team and Lakers will need to win against them four times, which I think is not possible at all.
Are you a Laker fan if I can ask? Because I don't see them winning against the Nuggets. Lucky if they win one.
They got swept when they faced off last playoffs. This regular season, the Nuggets swept the series as well 4-0 so overall, the Nuggets are 8-0 against the Lakers. With injuries hindering LBJ and AD's performance and with how good the Nuggets are, I will be surprised if they will win at least 1 game or even 2 against the defending champions "UNLESS" they will play them as 8 Vs. 5 and not 5 Vs. 5. You know what I mean. Cheesy

Herro's heroics in the final quarter isn't enough and the Heat have put themselves in a tougher position once again. I think they will still beat the winner of the Hawks vs Bulls game so it's looking like another Heat - Celtics match up in the playoffs. They would have a higher chance of advancing if they face the Knicks in the first round.
Heat - Celtics in the first round. Cheesy I would love to see the Celtics getting their revenge against a team who almost swept them last playoffs.
I don't see either the Bulls or the Hawks defeating the Heat. They almost won against the Sixers that has Embiid and Maxey. If only they didn't blow out that 13-point lead.

He bet for his team to lose.

That's crazy. With all of his $2M career earnings, he's got banned for just $20k+ of bet for his own team. I wouldn't do that, I might bet but I'd avoid to do what's written on the clause of my contract.

Or as much as possible, just avoid betting to anything related to your own sport when you're playing for a team. I guess that in every sport, we've got these athletes that does the same but not yet exposed.

It looks like he had a Two-Way Contract with the Raports, and his salary was only $400k this season. Maybe he just wanted to earn a little more and that's why he manipulated like that. Either way, it's the dumbest thing to do because if he had progressed in the NBA, he could have potentially made a few million dollars more over a few seasons.

Lakers had such a troubled game, barely got the win, which goes to show you that maybe they are not really ready for the upcoming matchup neither. I believe that Nuggets are going to be one of the toughest teams to play against, champions and all after all and I think Lakers will end up losing big time.

It's tough to make a perfect prediction on this. I watched the Nuggets game a lot of times and I can say they have the ups and downs too especially in their bench power. If suddenly a bad thing happens like an injury (fingers crossed) they will have a big problem on both ends of the floor. They are strong on their first five but after that, they have little amount of manpower who are stepping up their game. Christian Braun, Reggie Jackson, and Peyton Watson, these names are the only players who have been doing great whenever they have a chance to play.

The Lakers on the other hand have a very deep bench. So whenever Jokic and Murray will rest for the Nuggets, they should take advantage of that because that's may be the only time they will have an upper hand against them.

Big news this morning but not unexpected. Woj is reporting that Blake Griffin (via his IG) has retired from the NBA. Blake never found success after leaving the Los Angeles Clippers but that’s somewhat to be expected given his athletic play style. Dunking over everyone is definitely a young man’s game. Those early days on the Clippers were something else though…

Yeah, it's probably time for his to retire, Lob City was one of the best teams to watch with him, CP3 and DeAndre Jordan, who I think is still playing. But when Blake got injured, it's just a matter of time before he lose his athleticism.

I will go with the Lakers over Pelican, -1.5, at 2.06 odds. I think the Lakers can cover the handicap, as Lebron and AD are healthy enough to counter the youth of Pelicans. Plus their starting five as one of the solid fives this season as they literally can score 100+ points or more with Reaves, D'Lo and Hachimura.

I got the Pelicans here.  So much money on the Lakers here I can see the Pelicans donating this game or at minimum winning.  They are a great home team amd they have a inside out formula that can beat the Lakers.  I just hate betting with the masses.  I still can't figure out tonight's game but I'm leaning golden state. And gonna take the over on steph pts whatever it is.  Dude is gonna shoot 35 shots tonight.

Lol I couldn't have been more wrong than I was last night.  Klay putting up a goose egg in a do or die game is crazy.  It sure looks like the end of an era, dare I say steph will want to end his career on another team?  I don't see how they compete with that squad going forward.  Either that or they need to nail free agency.  They are good enough not to land a top pick in the draft but not good enough to compete.  Probably the worst position you can be in.

Unfortunate things happen mate, and it was the other way around, it was the Lakers who dominated the game early and Pelicans trying to do the catch up and they almost did it. But Zion get injured and later we found out that it was a hamstring injuries. And as I have predicted, the starting five of the Lakers almost covered that 100+, it was 93 points total with Lebron leading the way 23 points.

For the Golden State vs Sacramento Kings, not even close, this time the Kings was able to take revenge on the Warriors and ended their season with a big win. Story of the night is Klay Thompson with 0 points.

Safe to say congrats in advance to the Sacramento Kings. So in the first round of the playoffs, we'll see Thunders vs Kings.

That wasn’t the greatest second half, but it is always a good night when the Kings light the beam. A bit of a shame Klay had such a bad night in what was likely to be his last game in a Warriors uniform, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
Klay was the highlight for the GSW, he literally did nothing but took that attention. It was all bad beats and shots for him, I guess we'd see an announcement of his departure and trade deals soon?

I think the Kings have a real shot at beating the Thunder, but I believe they still have to get through the Pelicans first.
Oh, yeah I forgot about the Pelicans. LOL, thanks I was just excited to see them play against Thunders but I hope they win against Pelicans.

Not yet; King needs to face and beat the Pelicans first before facing the Thunder. Looking at the game, the Pelicans hold the season record against the Kings with 5-0, and it is either a blowout win or a double-digit win. With this, I can see the Pelicans beating the Kings and securing the 8th seed if Zion is healthy. We know that late in the 4th, Zion injures himself and goes to the locker room, and it is a devastating point in the 4th because they have and can overturn the outcome of the game, but sadly, yes, Zion injures himself and the Lakers never looked back and get the victory.

If Zion is healthy, Ingram and McCollum play very well (they played poorly against the Lakers as Ingram got benched and McCollum shot poorly), and if they defend Fox and Sabonis very well, we can see the Pelicans win.
Was just announced that Zion is out with a hamstring. The Kings are a 1.5 point favorite as of now, I would bet quick before that line jumps to -3 or 4. Zion is the heart and soul of New Orleans and without him, the season is over for them.

Yeah, even a ML bet right now is already attractive. And when we say  that Zion is healthy and it's about time that we might see him going into the playoff, we really didn't see that he will get hurt with a hamstring injury and potentially missed the do or die game against the Kings.

And for the Kings, they really just steam rolled the Warriors who didn't have the chance to make a comeback and their season are over now. Klay is a big disappointment for Warriors fans and I think a lot of bettors lost in that game as Golden State is the favorite.

Not yet safe. Remember they are in the lowest seed and that means they will still need to play against the Loser from the 7ht and 8th seed and that is the Pelicans. Now, it looks like the Pelicans swept the Kings this season with a 0-5 records. I wouldn't want to say they are safe  to enter the playoffs and face play against the Thunders in the 1st round.
However, I think they are lucky this time because Zion Williamson will be out on the next game against them due to a left hamstring injury. They should take this opportunity to beat the Pelicans this time. If Zion wasn't injured they'd for sure get beaten again as Zion just dropped 40 pts against the Lakers before he gets injured.

With the NBA Play-in starting tomorrow, what are your predictions? Especially in the west.

Lakers vs. Pelicans
I think this one will be just a replay of the last game of the season. Lakers won't slip this chance to get a guaranteed spot in the playoffs, even if facing Denver is the reward. Pelicans might make some adjustments since Ingram did have limited minutes last outing, and we can see to increase it this play-in game. We can also see some adjustments from Zion since he did not play well last game as he registered only 12 points. Lakers might lose this game if AD won't play (but most likely he will), if they play the way they did last meeting, and also if there is no Darvin Ham slander. Overall, the Lakers can win this game and look forward to the first round.

Kings vs. Warriors
This one will be a close matchup. Looking back at the last three games of these teams, the only lead of the winning team is a point, and their season head-to-head matchup is tied, with Warriors winning the first two games and Kings winning the last two. The Kings will be missing the service of Malik Monk and, on the other hand, Gary Payton III for the Warriors. Kings having the home advantage is an edge for them. This is really a close call, but I can see the Kings winning this one because this is just a one-game knockout, but if it is a series, I can see the Warriors winning.

Just as expected, the Lakers win the game against the Pelicans. The Kings beat the Warriors and kicked them out of the season.

For the eastern play-in, here are my predictions.

76ers vs. Heat
For this one, I can say that the 76ers are going to win this game since they are healthy. Even though Embiid is on GTD, I think he will still play since this game is important for them. 76ers are on the upper seed before Embiid gets injured, and with Embiid back, we can see them in their full form once again. Heat's hard work and grit can give a tough battle, but 76ers talent will win. Also, the Sixers are on an 8-game winning streak before the season ends, and it may continue in this play.

Hawks vs. Bulls
This one is kind of hard to predict since both of the teams are in the purgatory of the NBA, meaning that you don't know if they want to compete or tank since they have the talent to compete but the record says different and how they play. The Bulls have the lead in their season record against the Hawks. Hawks, on the other hand, have lost six straight before the season ends, so it will be hard for them to get momentum and win this game. Despite that, I think the Hawks will still win this one. They just recently got Trae in the rotation and are still adjusting in the past few days, and with this play-in game, it will be a different story now.

Yup, Warriors seems to be the favorite here but Kings play with a heart and with how they execute their system I guess they really wanted to achieved whatever they missed last season, they are now one step closer to move forward, though like what you just said, road games against another tough team they need all they've got to try winning this game and make it to the playoff.

We will see the leadership of their core players and how they will distribute the ball and play as a team, we can't conclude whatever will be the outcome. Good luck bettors!

It's gonna be roller-coaster scores again just like the Pelican's game earlier against the Lakers because they don't just give up easily despite their opponents sinking shots one after another, they had a chance in the last quarter but they seem to have a hard time getting consistent on their offense because they are missing crucial shots and in their next game which is done or die game against the Kings, they should consistently score because the king will buried them if they choke in any of the quarters.

And with that, still going to be a 50/50 fight between the two. The Kings survived and ended the Warriors dynasty with that win. The Pelicans on the other hand, went down early against the Lakers. But they made a huge comeback even without BI and CJ on the floor and they did it with a good defense and then Zion scoring inside and pushing himself to a big 40 points.

If not for being injured in the last 3 minutes, Zion could have scored 50 points easy as he was attacking the rim even if there is AD to protect it. Just very unfortunate, that he suffered a hamstring injury (as what the reports say). So he could be back in the next game against the Kings to make the game a even match, or Pelicans a slight favorite in the game.

For me this was an expected win by the Kings. Overall they are better like a team and they just destroyed the Warriors in this home game. The odd was honestly too big on the Kings and probobly a goft. The Warriors will need to get some new trades and new players for upcoming season because Curry cannot play alone.

The trend was really different and based on the bookies it was the warriors who are the better team.

If we look at the past games before the play-in, the Warrior are winning games while the Kings are struggling, resulting for their team to be in the play-in. But in the game vs the Warriors, they played their heart, they protect their home and they "light the beam".. However, travelling to the NO for another game, that's a tough one IMO.

Maybe they are basing on the interest of people and somehow its undeniable that Warriors is crowd favorite that's why many thought that they are more better than Kings this season. But All people think about that has prove wrong by Kings since they had totally out performed warriors in that match and we can say that they make Warriors struggle that's why they get the win in this game.

Before Warriors beheaded Kings and advance to the next round but now this season Kings show up a great revenge and they stunned a lot of people watching then show that they can be more better and play good as a team. Now this series became more exciting so provably we can still see more interesting match up in playoffs.

That's how the bookmakers work, the odds they'll create is based on the opinion of the majority of people , they have an algorithm to follow and that resulted for the Warriors being the favorite, even on the road.

One good example is this website https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/nba/public-betting-trends/

This tells the percentage of money going to a certain team either in spreads or moneyline.
