And credit also with the good defense of Boston Luka can't find that opening so instead of passing the ball he mostly take the shots, both him and Kyrie needs to create that space and make their teammates move for the rotations, if they manage to adjsut with how they really playing the game it will be an interesting next game for both teams, Boston needs to secure their home court advantage while Mavs will attempt again to snatch a game and switch that edge to their favor in terms of home court advantage.

I don't see a sweep. Mavs have the firepower but maybe they are surprised with what the Boston Celtics can do. They have too many offensive players and Derrick White had been shooting lights out too.
The problem that I saw was the lack of lob pass on the inside. If the two popular guards of the Mavs can somehow make Lively and Gafford join the offensive aggression then maybe they will have more options and that is where the Celtics will get confused about what is about to happen next. Luka Doncic had 1 assist only on Game 1 which means he had not been passing the ball.
I think that's the aftershock of dominating Game 5 against the Timberwolves. He certainly did most of the damage on that game but it's time to go back to being the Luka that will kick the ball out or find the big man to lob the ball.

The question is, how will they upset the Celtics?
Luka's heavily guarded by not only Holiday, but all of Celtics' players, and at the same time, Porzingis is what I'm considering as the X-factor on this series because his presence inside the court has an impact towards the whole team. He's very efficient on offense, and a very reliable defender inside the paint as well, and at the same time, he's way faster than both Lively and Gafford.

+7.5 for me is something that I will not take if I'm betting (IMO) because I don't see any way for the Mavericks to upset the Celtics on their own home, but who knows. I mean the Celtics have a curse of losing their Game 2 in their first 2 series.

TBH, the NBA Finals would be better if the Nuggets and the Celtics are the ones that faced.

Kidding aside, I agree with what you said that the Celtics are happy to face them, and it will be harder for them if they will face the Nuggets because they're like equally matched. As for OKC being eliminated, it's not surprising for me considering that they are inexperienced in the playoffs (both the players and the coach). I predicted that the Mavericks will win on this one in 7 games, but looking at how the Celtics demolished them in Game 1, I'm already thinking that my prediction might be wrong.

By looking at game one performance made by Boston it really make sense that Mavs doesn't have any proper match up for the current rotation what Boston have. They struggle so much when Boston tighten up their defence against them and if they can't do anything like if we don't see any huge adjustment will be made on game two then provably we could see a 0-2 in favor on Boston will happen. If Mavs would ever let Boston will take again on game two then maybe we will see a sweep in finals and that is a huge shame for their team so hopefully they fight back and don't let this to happen.

I also wonder what will happen if Wolves is the one who proceed to finals maybe Boston we might see that Boston will see more close match up between them and Kat and Gobert would provably have some answer on defensive pressure given by Boston.

I think the players of Boston Celtics will be so glad to be playing against Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals. Dallas Mavericks did surprised me by eliminating Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves in order to reach the NBA finals but it seems they are just doing Boston Celtics a great favor. I guess Boston Celtics will be able to beat Dallas Mavericks again in their upcoming match and lead the series by 2-0.

Take that or regret missing the opportunity to bet on them as heavy underdogs. If Dallas upsets the Celtics in Game 2, we won't see that handicap in the succeeding games, especially if Dallas wins the two games on their home court. There are still a lot of doubts about Dallas in Game 2 because they were completely outplayed in Game 1, but as the fans are saying, that's just Game 1. This is the finals and a long series.

The odds for the Mavs was interesting and that's why I think many have bet for them.

I'm sure that they're going to adjust big by game 2.

Sure they will not allow to have a 2 straight loss on a finals game. But that can change, the pulse of most of us are going to change if ever they win by game 2.

It was the 3 point shooting and the attack in the paint where the Mavericks can't adjust since it's easy for them to kick out the ball and since they are 3 point shooters, they can easily score. However, if the defense will be tighter in game 2, I think Celtics shooting will struggle a bit, but let's see what Dallas will make for their adjustment.

After seeing game 1, I'm now backing Dallas to win game 2, or maybe at least to cover the handicap.

Well I have the Celtics winning though, but I think the sentimental favorites is Mavs here because they wanted to have an upset and Luka has a lot of fans here.


It's really more on the high shooting percentage by the Celtics, and then KP was back contributed big 20 points and then they have a good defensive plan against Luka and they check Kyrie too. No lob pass, almost no assists from Luka and Kyrie has a bad night. And again, it just takes just one quarter to know who's going to win although they mounted a great comeback to cut the lead down to 8. But when the Celtics called a time-out, it was very different again in the 3rd quarter.

In the series, yes, but in game 1, I think most of us think the Celtics will win as they are the heavy favorite to win.
Usually, odds are based on the perception of the bettors, that's why I said most of us believe the Celtics will win, however, it's different from the betting points handicap as Dallas had more bettors on that.


It's not that they are in bad shape, it's about the strategy of the game where the Celtics had a better one, but comes game 2, expect a big adjustment as Dallas will now allow they'll loss via blowout again.

Most of us thought that they're going to win against the Celtics but no.

When players are in a bad shape and didn't have a great performance especially their main players, this would end up badly for the team.

I think most teams should really develop each and everyone from the bench, those that they can rely on. Not mostly to the rookies but there are exceptional ones.

They really need some help out there.

Last night the Boston Celtics won the first game and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

I didn't think Dallas would end with such a big difference, I even thought they would win.
Doncic fought alone yesterday, I think, Kyri was bad last night, he couldn't support the team. Players like this are very important in these kinds of games, if you can't get support from them, you always have a high chance of losing.

I think you might be right but I hope you’re wrong. While it sucks we have to wait until Sunday to see game 2, that’s probably a good thing for the Mavericks as it gives them a lot of time to study game tape and work on how to better play the Celtics. I hope we don’t see a sweep, but I’m leaning towards that being the case also.

I feel sorry for Dallas Mavericks but i think this is gonna be one of the easiest finals to win for Boston Celtics, they detroy them yesterday nad i think they are gonna destroy them also in the next games.

You can see how big was the gap in all the game, never stand a chance for Dallas.

They'll make an adjustment in game 2, that's necessary for them to hav a chance to even the series. The problem with the Mavericks is they are still using the same strategy when they beat the Wolves, this is a diferent team now with all the starters are great 3 point shooters.

See that numbers, all of them are threat in the outside so Celtics can't leave the corner like they do with the Wolves. They need to play good one on one defense so they'll be able to limit the opportunity of some kick out pass when the Celtics are trying to attack the paint.

The Celtics were too good in the first half, especially in the first quarter. And I think the Mavs didn't expect and were discouraged by Porzingis' performance in the first half. Let's see if the Mavs can make the necessary adjustments in the second game, but it's already clear that the second game of the final series will be critical for the Mavs because if they are down 0-2, they will hardly be able to recover from that.

Do you mean Boston? As they are taking a 1-0 lead unless the Dallas team comes back and win in game 2 and then sweep the Celtics playing at their own homecourt. So base on game 1 alone, the Celtics is the overwhelming favorite to win the finals now.

But as others have said, this is just game 1, so let's see, it's a battle of adjustment, Jason Kidd has been a former player so he knows what's at stake and losing game one. So he will make some correction along the way to at least make it even and steal game 2 from the Celtics, tall task but not impossible to do.

Tatum usually step up when he needs the most. Today’s match is a balance game performance to all Celtics players since even Tatum has below average score, he still gets tons of rebounds and assist which balance his stats for a good candidate for MVP. It’s always Tatum has a high chance of MVP if ever they will seal this championship.



Do you watch the game? Dallas is completely outplayed on their own game. Their center which is effective to Minnesota is not that impactful on their game against Boston. Boston has tons of blocks against them while they are beaten badly on scoring. Based on the 1st game, their winning chance is not that high anymore.

Good preparation for the Celtics as they dominated the Mavs in the early stretch and continue maintaining that confidence, they manage to outrun the Dallas in both ends, and yeah, it's the good defense that  gives them that edge, they manage to limit the rotation of Mavs and force them to go one on one, though Luka still got his numbers but without the good support from the entire squad he can't carry the very balance productions of Celtics, both cores and the support cast are really bringing the help and it's tough to beat the kind of squad that's played with a great blend and chemistries.


Both Brown and KP got very decent productions and not just for the offense but also with their defense, Brown still have that MVP performance and if he continue doing that same momentum more likely he can also win the final MVP, though it's only the first game and for sure Mavs will find ways to adjust and counter the system of Boston, let see if how they'll going to adjust and how they will try to snatch a game inside the Garden.

It is very difficult to predict who will be the MVP in the first match. When we look at the performances in the first match, it is a little difficult to say that he was a player who played well, he was not a shining star. At least when we look at the statistics, we can say that we cannot see this.
Let's see who will win the final series, I think the probability of Dallas Maverics winning is quite high
