Sacramento must be hurting to see they passed on Luka and Trae. Deandre Ayton was a good pick. Sad he was injured but still young and lots of time to recover and play big.

~snip~

On the other hand, the clippers vs Rockets is a good match and Clippers took their revenge behind the effort Leonard and Williams, and although PG struggle a bit, they help each other to win.
oh man, that was a fantastic match, Kawhi and Harden lead their teammates to play well in this match. and Harden is able to score more points than Kawhi. but the final result of this match is LA Clippers successfully winning the game with a score of 122-119 from Rockets

They can still find another good player if they keep looking, Luka is just destine with the Mavericks and we have to accept that.
Another big win for Mavericks today, but he didn't get a triple double, maybe if he played more, he might easily get another triple double game.

143-101, there's no competition in there, that's twice in the row that they dominated their opponent and their winning streak is still alive.

Lots of love on Luka here, stop these guys, Melo will be jelous, lol...

Anyway, Luka is a real star now, he is still very young, 20 years old and he is playing like a matured NBA player who has a lot of experience already.
now we finally see a star in Dallas, he is better than Dirk Nowitzki because he is a triple double machine now.
I also admire Luka's greatness but dont compare him to Dirk. The guy is a legend while the kid is still starting out his time to shine. There is still a lot of work for Luka but we are sure that his time would come.

Luka has already surpassed Dirk Nowitzki's starting years. Luka is a top 5 NBA player now. But it is too early to say he is better than Dirk career wise. We will know if the kid is for real and if he can keep this level of play through the years. But we would love to see Luka play like this over the years to come.

Longevity is key.  Dirk did it for a long time.  Luka is certainly looking like a great player for years to come but he needs more than just stats.  Playoffs is where you really make you name.  Lebron will coast and then when playoffs come that's when he turns it up.  NBA season is a marathon not a sprint.  Hopefully Luke can keep this up, will make for an exciting western conference playoffs

As a long-time Mavericks fan here looks like the effort and patience for years are now yielding a good result,"at least for now", after the sudden fall of the championship roster during the post-season of their championship years.

I don't give up on Dallas Mavericks since I become interested to them way back 2003 and never expected they will reach the finals in 2006 and finally able to chip a trophy in 2011. That era is composed of monster teams that's why I never thought seeing Dirk Nowitzki will snatch that Finals MVP. Sad that Steve Nash and Michael Finley wasn't able to share the championship trophy with Dirk.

And after they won a chip in 2011, this team became one of the underperforming teams in the West. But still, if I saw some interesting Moneyline odds to them, I do put some few bucks as support. My friends know how I'm an avid fan of this team so I'm happy with their progress now.

Their last playoffs appearance was way back 2015-16 season. I hope I will see them back at Playoffs this season.

I don't think it's the end of LeBron era. Though is is at the twilight of his skills, he can still show how deadly he can be in the court. Basing on how he played recently, he is still above the level of Luka. Duncic still has a lot to prove that this is his era and yet not now.

You take that user's statement literally lol. Of course, stats-wise LeBron James > Luka Doncic.

Come on. Luka just played 86 games as of now. Smiley

The management should take a look of this and give him much deeper squad, they are also a champion caliber team with Dirk leading them. Now that it's Luka's term he also needs to have good teammates to establish and achieved this kind of goals. He's still young and if he continues to have a healthy career he can be the next sensation. Though there's also a lots of respected players but his stats can speak for him.
He already has Porzingis, Hardaway, Barea, and Curry. This is already a good team. If they stay healthy, they can make playoffs this year and have a good chance for the Western Conference Finals.

Why do people suddenly are big on Doncic? Dude has always been a great player, hell on his first year he won the rookie of the year and played amazingly, had triple doubles and all that. Now the game is way more different than the 90's and early 2000's because back then the games were slower, there was a whole stretch Pistons 04 allowed teams score less than 80 points a game in a row back to back nights for a long time.
It is just his second year in NBA and not everybody is following EuroLeague. So it is acceptable that most are just noticing how good he is especially his team is now on top 8.

So of course, when the game is more like "scoring 120 points, getting scored 110 every game" type of situation it is not that weird that superstars have triple doubles. Back in the day superstars focused on scoring because they played 40 minutes a game and couldn't focus on everything, now stars plays 35 minutes at most so they can focus on other stuff too.

Not only because he is close to averaging a triple double now, but also because of his team's standing.
His last season's average is ...21.2 pts, 6.0 assists, 7.8 rebounds... now his average is 29.9 pts, 9.4 assists and 10.6 rebounds, but this is only for 14 games, there's over 60 games that he has to play and he needs to be consistent to maintain that average.

  • His 40 pt triple double against the Spurs I think is the 2nd time that a 20 yr old has made and the first who did it? His Idol LBJ
  • He and KAT are the only players in the past 15 seasons with 20 pts, 5 reb and 5 assist in a single quarter. Source
  • He is the first player to outscore, outrebound and out-assist a team in a quarter since Allen Iverson on Feb. 19, 2003 against the Bulls. Source
I just read that he is also the fifth player in the NBA history to average a 30 point triple double in a span of ten games. The other four were Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Russel Westbrook, and Oscar Robertson. What an accomplishment already in his very young career. Let's hope his team can back him up to win a chip in the next five years.

Mavericks have been winning already, I think that would say a lot that they are a good team.

Its not all about Luka only, if you look at his stats, he had a good number of assists per game, and that is because he is making his teammates better.
For me, I would like to see this team for now, and who knows if they will surprise the heavy favorites to win the champion this playoffs, if they will reach at that level.

He indeed has a lot of experience in professional basketball in his hometown. He even played in the FIBA intercontinental cup at the age 16 (which I also remember Ricky Rubio who played in Spain at the same age) and dominated the game. What makes it more surprising is, he also dominated the best basketball league in the world in his 2nd year.
Now, the MVP debate are now exclusively for Doncic and LeBron and nobody comes near them in the discussions right now.

I will vote for Luka at any way possible.  Grin Really love the guy.
Lebron though do deserve to be an MVP too considering what he had been doing for the Lakers now.
He is not the Kawhi type who will rest now for a big game tomorrow. He plays every game with no absences unless there is an injury which mostly are mild ones.
Back to the MVP discussion, Lebron had his share with this trophies, time for the new era to be boosted.
Let the young kids know in NCAA that there is a chance they could also be an MVP at early age.
That way, they will train harder.

I remember those times when Russel Westbrook average a triple double and that was the time when he also won his first regular season MVP.
But in terms of accuracy and the effect to the team, Doncic gives more positive effect and with that, he made his team sit in the playoff position which we are hoping that they will stay or improve by the end of the regular season.

He is the reason why I will always pick Dallas over most of the NBA teams in this season. He is really a solid player with almost triple double scorer in every game.

But I dont agree that he is better than Dirk, yes he is young but Dirk gives Dallas championship matches and even the saviour of Mavericks during clutch time. Dirk is a tall guy and most players on NBA hasn't good at shooting while Dirk specialty is this. Maybe Luca will exceed him, if he continue to be their highest pointer in the season.

Luka Dončić
Through 14 games, he is putting up 29.9 points, grabbing 10.6 boards and dishing out 9.4 assists per game. On Monday, he served the Spurs a 42-point triple-double and then followed it up with a 35-point triple-double against the Warriors on Wednesday.

This is a bit of an old news but I'm surprised no one has talked about Pau Gasol being waived by the Blazers. The reason was that he's recovery from surgery seems to be longer than expected. They are currently looking at a possibility of giving him a coaching role instead while recovering in Portland.

It's probably a good call by the team and for Pau to retire. He's already accomplished a lot when he was a Laker.

I agree mate, I think Pau needs to retire at this point. Good if Portland will give him a job managing the team.

Remember when he was a Laker, people said that he really help Kobe preserved his legacy. Pau was the biggest factor in their win against the Boston and proved that he is not soft.

6th winning streak for the Bucks. Next is Pistons. Can they stop this streak?   Wink Bledsoe was on fire.

People are not noticing the bucks a lot because they know what bucks can do.
They are looking now on exciting teams like the Nuggets, Clippers, Lakers, Rockets, and special mention to the Mavericks, this kind Doncic has a big chance to become MVP.

because of that, there's  a rumor about https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/sneaker-free-agent-luka-doncic-playing-his-way-into-becoming-next-nba-star-with-signature-shoe-deal/

what do you think about that rumor? that could bring him another $100 million or more contract?
