An overhaul to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Zion Williams
Lonzo Ball
Brandon Ingram
Josh Hart
Jrue Holiday
J.J. Redick
Nicolo Melli
Jaxson Hayes

and their new addition. Derrick Favors

For me, it is a strong roster. The problem is these are young guys. Chemistry will be difficult to achieve.
Any thoughts?

Chemistry indeed is the most difficult factor to obtain coming from a team who have a lot of young bloods. The main reason for that is, they usually dont have the champion mentality. These guys like Ball, Hart, and Ingram are still creating their own spotlight in the NBA. Look at the outcome when these 3 played together in LA , they're like 3-15 without Lebron,
While Zion is a different one. I feel like he will be the next Lebron who carried his team in the 2007 NBA finals.

Williamson is indeed a good player but I don't think he can be the next LeBron with the way he play. Yes he's athletic player but he still needs to prove that to the who NBA that he is not just hype.

Well, of course thats given. He has yet to play an NBA regular season, lets give this kid at least the first 3 years in the NBA. Then, we can judge whether his a legit future hall of famer or just another overrated player.

I will be much surprised if he could carry his team in his first year in the NBA like what Doncic did to the Mavs.

Agreed, to claim someone is going to be the next lebron is unfair to anyone.  Lebron is a top all time player.  I think zion has a chance to be great but some games have to be played first let him be the first zion.  Same goes for people saying he is going to be a bust, there is no way possible to claim that without him player 1 regular season game yet I mean cmon

With the recent news I see Anthony Davis' thumb didn't torn any ligament and is working fine, a MRI was set on Monday just to be sure that there is really nothing serious with the injury. And come on he did walked out of the court with ice on his thumb but I don't believe a sprained thumb could make him be sidelined for over a month, remember that Kobe has dislocated his finger while in a game and the trainer just pop it back in and he still played the rest of the game.

That is different. A sprained thumb has internal damage that's why anyone will feel pain in the affected area. We can't even move their fingers even for an inch because of pain. Recovery can last for 1 to 2 months.

Dislocation of fingers is dangerous but in Kobe's case, luckily it was mild that's why the trainer easily popped it out. If there's an internal damage when he dislocate his finger, he can't came back again to play.

In Davis's case, I don't believed too that he will be sitting for a month since the X-ray result is negative.

Regular season hasn't started yet but not looking good for the Lakers already with AD being possibly sidelined for a month due to a thumb injury. Looks like we will see more of Howard early in the season.

We could see them both on the court with Lebron playing point guard and two outside shooters. That line up could still work for them both on the defensive and offensive end. It's a good opportunity for Howard to show what he's been working on.
Absolutely. It's good to see them both playing at the same time by powering inside the paint. But, if that happens, the team's transition in both offense and defense will slow down a little as they are big men. Anyway, let's just hope for AD's fast recovery. He's vital for the team.

With AD's absence, I guess McGee would be the one to play more not Howard.

Yep but they will still sideline him so that makes him still play games but not to the full extent. It is still an injury even if it is thumb injury. With AD's absence, I guess McGee would be the one to play more not Howard.

All around this team is definitely built for success in the long term, maybe JJ will not be there to see it but in the end this team will be a powerhouse in 5 years if they can keep all of their players.
Don't say that JJ is still young and definitely stay there in the next 5 years Grin (unless he will be trade). Regarding on Pelicans' future, I also foresee that they will become one of the strongest teams in the future. However, achieving this doesn't only depend on how good the team chemistry they had, it also depends on individual growth. Zion is already making an impressive performance despite of being a rookie. My question is, does Ingram and Ball can step up their game? What do you guys think?

It's a strong roster. I don't think chemistry will be a difficult thing to achieve. You technically have the best passer in the NBA. What's hard is to accept the fact that this team doesn't have a solid center. But when they do, they'll be difficult to battle with.

NOP's future is bright. As long as they can sustain salaries for their players.

Chemistry is definitely an issue in all the new young squads but these are not guys who got here out of nowhere, lonzo+ingram+hart all came from Lakers, so they already know each other, Zion is rookie so wherever he went he would have been new, Jrue is a great leader if you ask me, dude provides all he has on the court ever since he stepped foot in NBA, one of the best hussle guys out there, when he hussles and gives his 100% on court it will be an example to the young players, JJ Reddick has an angel like shooting form so he could help with the players on their shooting which pelicans really needs.

That is if they can keep those players.
They dont really have the max contract for now and there is a chance that the team will get broken after this year.

This young guns really needs to prove something now for the expectation to grow and so they will get another contract that will suffice for their chemistry to grow again.
But all in all, I still think they have a better chance to get that 7th or 8th spot for the fight in the playoffs.

Decent line up and could potentially challenge last two spots for the playoffs. They lack the experience but these young guys are hungry to prove to everyone that they truly belong in this league and that makes them dangerous.

Zion is having a good start in pre season and Lonzo seems to be enjoying more which is good for the Pelicians.
I see Redick doing a great job as captain.

It's just pre-season games, so we expect a much competitive matches during regular season which this Zion Williamson wasn't seen yet. I would say, the Pelicans aren't dangerous until they prove they were.

And that is the good thing about it.
They have Zion which is like Gianis when he plays. He can absorb the defense to him making Redick shoot freely on the outside.
It is not a two man game. All of them could score including Lonzo and Ingram.
Their roster is almost a complete set. They just need to perfect every plays that will be made for them.
If done right then there is a possibility for them to enter the playoffs.

They really need a veteran with them and Favors could be the answer.
Lonzo, Ingram and Hart this three players who played alongside together can rotate and find the open while Zion is taking his way inside. Give this young guns a good time to work with each other and create a new team to beat. GSW once an unknown team before the s|Splash brothers formed
the champion caliber squad. It's all about how dedicated this players to back each other and find rhythm and good blends when inside the court.

They are lucky if ever they will enter the playoffs, with this line up, I can say that its an interesting team but its not enough to be called a championship team, they need to learn first and I am not seeing a great 3 point shooter in the team, of course we have Redick but in terms of consistency, I don't think he will be when the defense is fully focus on him.

This team's strength is more on the inside as that's zion Williams strength, their best player.

I agree with Oasisman, I can also see Zion as a younger Lebron. He can shoot mid range and high range, can rage inside the paint and can do monstrous dunks too. Zion somehow possesses the features what Lebron had, hmm maybe their difference is only the level of energy while playing. But he still young, I know he will grow further.

Anyway, IMO he is more similar of the latest version of Lebron and not the older one because Lebron's physique during 2007 is a little bit slimmer Grin.

I also see the versatility of Zion when it comes to his plays and i agree on the insight that this one is a young version Lebron and of course it wont really be similar
on physical performance and it will depend on how he would enhance it more.

And to that pelicans line up above, they would really need to improve out chemistry which cant really be achieved overnight but i cant deny that this line up is strong
and so as with other team line ups.Lets see on how they would perform out on their current roster.

Strong squad needs to have a good leadeship, coaching staff needs to  work it out with the blending and chemistry of each individuals, those kids are still young if they'll be able to manage to make this selections to play as one, and the system to use will be for everyone. Zion accompanied by star blooded players can build a strong competitive team. Regular season will state it up.
