They are real friends, right? But, I'm just wondering where is Melo now, is it possible for him to play with the king in the next season?

So that is it for Dwade he ended his last game in brooklyn and I thought I saw lebron in the crowd watching the game. Wink
Him, Chris paul and Carmelo all were there to congratulates him after the game with a good photo op.

And his team mates celebrated with a dunk of the gatorade bucket on his head afterwards. Grin

Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki confirmed his retirement from the NBA on Tuesday, April 9, calling time on a 21-season career that saw him become the greatest European player ever to grace the league.

Another legend leaves the pitch and now it is time for young stars to shine. Thank you Dirk for the amazing moments you have offered us.

This is the sad news I heared today I like Dirk Nowitzki even theres a lot of younger player in the NBA today he is legend in nba history thank you for bringing a greate memories for all of us we will miss your play Sad Its time for younger player in Dallas Mavericks to shine good luck for the team and farewell Dirk.
That's not sad because Dirk is already in the retirement age, and his contribution to the team has decrease so they need to let him go.
He will be remembered as one of the best player in the NBA, not an american player but can compete in the NBA.
Being a champion once is already a big fulfillment.

Will miss Dirk Nowitzki. Feel the emotions during his farewell speech at his last home game.  I was on high school when I began following this player. That was 2003 when Dallas Mavericks have their own trio (Nowitzki, Nash, Finley). Sadly, Mavericks didn't have a chance to sealed a playoffs spot for the last time. This was now there 3rd consecutive absence in the playoffs.

Dwayne Wade also given a tribute at his last home game.

But why should we have a GOAT debate in the first place? How important it is?
It's because NBA media does not have any topic lol. I agree on your opinion that all of us have different perspective on every player. That's why we're bias on somebody. Don't tell me you don't have any favorite player. And maybe, that player could be your vote on GOAT.

Dirk Nowitzki all the way but not considering him as a GOAT generally.

And guess what, this farewell moment of these 2 great players were being spoiled at the sudden news of Magic Johnson resigned as Los Angeles Lakers President of Basketball Operations.

He really stole the moment. He could do it the next day lol.

He is fulfilled as a player, he got a championship and he introduce their kind of basketball in the NBA.
Now, it's time for the young star and I have my favorite young stars that will be Dirk like in the future, they are Luka and big Porzi.
I think both of them have different play style as Dirk though, and besides, Porzi has a outside issue (rape allegation) so he is no where as classy as Dirk is. I'm sure Dirk is just one of a kind player, he really brought something in the 2000's, a big guy who can dribble and shoot there and not that soft, specially coming from Europe.

A big man who can penetrate and shoot from the outside lane, he's presence was being felt by big man who tried to guard him, he can play with you dribbling the ball while shoot over you if you give him small space, he's good from what he have and be known without comparisons, he have a complete package won an MVP plus a championship ring, he will retired as franchise superstar.

Dirk was one of the few people in NBA history who everybody love in unison. I mean Jordan is still hated by many people, even Wilt is said "he played in easy era" and all that, Kobe was always hated, Lebron is hated by many. There is really not that many people everyone loves, I think Tim Duncan is one of those guys (another power forward Cheesy ) and Dirk is another.
You know why? He is one of the very few players who ever won a championship with a team that he didn't ask for. Dirk Nowitzki is just a cornerstone for the Mavericks and he just played basketball at his best, he never asked for Mark Cuban to recruit all stars to make him win his only ring. He tried to be the very best and maximize his contribution on the team he have. Unlike star players in our current generation which will try to do anything just to win a ring with no loyalty whatsoever. He never asked for a big paycheck to stay because he knows that Dallas is his only team, he even played his last two remaining seasons with the team on only a 10 million dollar contract (5 for each season) which is really not big considering how much players not even better than him are asking.

Dirk managed to build a great relation with the world not just on the court but off the court as well, anytime he spoke he spoke with love and kindness and passion so nobody ever hated him because even when he lost on 2006 he never really created any issues or said anything but just went back up on the horse and tried again and again and eventually won in 2011 (over Miami which was a sweet revenge). Dirk will be missed, he was a great basketball player but even a better human.

Dirk Nowitzki is one of my favorite players in the league. He's a great player and I don't know about you but I have this kind of mentality of liking players if they started something that is new to the league. Like Manu Ginobli's euro step. Well, he, he just started the unique one-foot fade away. Hands down to him. Great player, deserves to be part of the hall of fame because he's that great. Also, he's accepting major pay cuts.

Oh thank God he is going to retire. I thought he is going to take one more year since he is near creating a new all time scoring record.
I am just glad he is not just for numbers.
He will always be the star of Mavericks. There is no doubt about that.
He made a great championship game that will never be forgotten.
I watched that all and tears still fell in my eye as I watch it again.
I need a copy of his walk from just being a tall thin player into being a great shooter.

Yes, I still remember how he carried the team against Miami's big three and won the championship. I think they are the third seed that time behind, San Antonio and defeated the second seed LA Lakers (4-0). Surely he will be missed specially that long stride of his and his patented one leg shot.

The guy has always been oblivious the numbers. Dirk sees only winning. His achievements come naturally because he's trying to win every single game. Dirk and dwade gone in the same year. How time flies. Two of the greatest players to play the game and probably two of the classiest ever!

Anyone think the Pistons can beat the Knicks to nab the final place in the eastern playoffs?

Given their current 3-7 slump and the possibility of Griffin missing out I'm not confident in Detroit, even if NY are currently bottom of the conference with a 3-7 record of their own in the last 10 games.

My money is on the Hornets stepping up to take their spot if the Pistons lose, but they'll need to beat the Magic in what should be a close-fought game.

I'm going with:

- New York Knicks +9.5 (1.90)
- Charlotte Hornets -3.5 (2.19)

Luka and porzi are both good players in their respective positions but saying that they are more like Dirk is a bit exaggerating. Dirk has his own legacy and both young players you mentioned will make their own.

I would put lebron as the greatest player of all time.  Jordan is overrated because of his 6 championships.  Lebron never played with a player as good as Scottie Pippen.  James is a better overall player than Jordan and is a much better athlete as well.
It is your opinion and that is the way you saw it but i saw the opposite. Players like Pippen, Grant, Paxson, Cartwright transformed into a good player because of MJ and he played whoever his teammates would be unlike Lebron who chooses players to play alongside with him. I doubt that he could have that championship ring if he remain in Cleveland.
