I would rather prefer on having that high percentage offense yet you would able to feel the thrill on how teams do rush in to score rather than on having an airtight defense which it actually turns out to be a boring thing for me.
That's what fans are looking for, they want a more offensive game because it will result to a high scoring game and in this league
those who are good in scoring are the only players that are recognize but they forgot that it requires a team for a win to win, defenders and good rebounders are underrated in this league to be honest.

Thats correct a casual NBA fan would love to see a high scoring game with a lot of highlight reel even without too much defense on it.. But, as a basketball fan I would love to see a good offense at the same time a good defense. Ever wonder why a lot of people said that the 2013-2014 Spurs are boring? Because they dont just put their effort on offense, they also had a good defensive mentality and hustle, Infact their offense was considered as one of  the best offense, it was designed to make the opponents defense confused, with quick ball rotation that every player must touch the ball before someone make a fg attempt. Smarter way to execute an offense than throwing a lot of 3pt fg attempt.
If you take a look at the bigger picture, theres a difference between an NBA fan, and a basketball fan.

Kobe is one of the most overrated players, he was a ballhog that shot a low fg%.  Shaq carried him to his first 3 rings and Pau Gasol was the better player in the other 2 finals.

Shaq and Pau Gasol did great during their championship time but if Kobe will not be the way he is during that time, Lakers are surely doomed. Try to check what Kobe did during 2001-2003 why Lakers got into playoffs. And in one final game, Game 6 NBA Finals, they almost got killed by Sacramento Kings even with prime Shaq and Kobe. Smiley If Kobe didn't do a ballhog like you said during the whole tenure of Kings vs Lakers, they will lose. Kobe is the main scorer. Shaq got strong defense by Chris Webber. Thanks for the refs though they won the finals Cheesy

Anyone who has some good opinion about Cavs vs Suns?

Both are on the lowest in current standings. 14th for Cavs and 15th for Suns.
They are in the lowest standing indeed, what do you want to know about these two, are you planning to make a bet on it?
If so, you can also try to ask opinion in NBA 2018-2019 betting, that thread is dedicated for NBA betting (total and point spread).

Yeah, injuries can destroy a career, look at derrick rose he is the biggest example of it, dude could have been the westbrook of his time and helped his team to playoffs with a big regular season and could had his team go for championship all by himself, he was that good.

Now, he is just a has been. Kobe had an amazing career, dude has 5 championships and played his best basketball when he was in his thirty+ years old. Got injured "early" (still 34 or so) and stopped playing, dude could still play today and be a force but he lost all his love for the game after 3 years of nothingness.

Kobe could have given at least 3 years of great performance if he wasn't injured and probably more. Basically, if Ante is healthy he can be a Lebron James, if he gets injured it would be another Derrick Rose story, however even if he gets injured late into his career he wouldn't be a Lebron, he would at best be a Kobe.

I would take Shaq, Duncan, KG, Lebron, Wade, Dirk, on my team over kobe.

The way Giannis played, I remember the peak days of Amare Stoudamire wherein just getting near the rim, you can already count is a dunk even there is a defense. Back then, when NBA's call are not that insane, Amare always facing a tough defense but still can managed to slam the ball strongly.

Moving forward, Giannis is way more athletic and if these guy improved his outside shooting..... damn no questions asked. He will now turned to 100% All around player which is only few players capable of.

Bucks doesn't have superstars alongside Giannis but their current lineup is composed of "role players" which is way more tougher than superstar vs superstar. Remember how Detroit Pistons and Dallas Mavericsk destroyed a Superstar team to win a championship? Im not expecting Bucks to be like that but if they maintained or should I say, improved more their fuel power once playoffs come, they does have a chance to enter the ECF then eventually the Finals.

Still a long road to them, there's a much stronger Sixers, healthy Celtics, a different Raptors and so on that they have to faced before reaching the Eastern top.

Both are great players, but its hard to compare them as I think they're not contemporaries.

That's why you can said that Lebron has more experience because obviously his been in the league longer that Durant. So when it time for Durant to retire then we can compare him maybe against Harden or Westbrook and gauge how good he really was.

As a fans we do have our owned stars and comparing them would be a long arguments from different perceptions, appreciating them and what
are the contributions that they've bring to this league is more important to remember, they are all good with the fans eyes, only us can differentiate
the qualification of the stars we idolized.

Well you can't avoid comparisons anyway and it's always a good discussion when you compare superstars lol. But i don't think anyone in the league today can compare to lebron sorry lol. Both of them needed superteams to win their championships but let's be honest, bron's a more well rounded player and a physical specimen compared to kd. And i'm a fan of kd more than lbj.

This is want I'm trying to say about Kobe, if at that time sport science is advance in US by that time, he didn't really need to go somewhere else. And yeah, probably he lost like 3 years because of those injuries.

Giannis one advantage though is that he is still young, still a work in progress and I'm sure he has been given tips on how to stay "away" from injuries, so to speak.

No heart feelings but both teams performed very well. Lebron has always been the same and being serious although this is just an exhibition match. Now we have to move on and proceed to official league again.

lol the so called captain got 1/8 3pts! KD should be the captain then, not Leape! Yannis is true captain. And KD is the best player in the world!

Don't you dare compare the King with KD, man! Durant is a good player that LeBron is the players that over all these years have proven that he is the best.
It is very out of the point to judge him from an all star game where the players don't give the maximum of their performance.
Haha I think he's a fanboy and never understands on how is it to become a captain. It's not all about the scores that you can make within the game but it's on how you play as a team.

Maybe he just googles and sees who scores most without noticing who made the game! Durant is good but his performance and achievements couldn't be compared with LeBron's. There is still a long way for him to show off... But after he moved to GSW he will be always a shadow... The next big star that it is rising is Antetokounmpo and when the King will retire he will be the best player in the world.
I guess he have to make use of a genuine sports scores for games update next time. With that been said, Durant and LeBron are both a good players but the experience which LeBron had surpass Durant. This is the reason why LeBron was considered as regarded as the greatest player of all time.

The next big star that it is rising is Antetokounmpo and when the King will retire he will be the best player in the world.
No doubt that Antetokounmpo will be the next king, he is still young and it's expected that he will improved more.
His length and athleticism is going to make him dominant going forward to this career as an NBA player.
This guy can also carry a team, he does not have all star teammates like the warriors so it's pretty clear that he has the talent.

Currently rank as the no. 1 team in the East and I believe he will dominate the East if he will stay.
I can see him being the next king as well since he has a team he is comfortable with now and is the big man in the center.
Where he likes to be.
The bucks will be making noise all the way to the playoffs this season if they can continue their run now that the all star week is done with and they can get back to business with the remaining games left to play.
He will have lebron looking at him while the lakers will be on vacation come the conference finals.

He will just need to avoid injuries like how Lebron did it.
Minor injuries will be fine but not like knees and ankles injury. It will take a lot to his stats and also might affect his mental state.
But at his figure for just an average body, I think he might make it work for a lot of years.

If he gets this championship then the confidence will reach the roof and it might also be the way for Bucks to get new players to help him out.

As a fan, this want worry me most, yes he is a freak of nature, but you can't discount that a injury can suddenly change his careers.

Lebron is really good at it, maybe he really takes care of his body and sought advance medicines to help him recover very fast and heal.

I remember Kobe when he injured his knees, if I'm not mistaken, he goes to Germany to get medical attention, but now I think that kind of treatment is already available in the States.

I'm not really a fan of Durant and as well as Lebron so technically speaking, I do not like both players. But without being biased, I think you are correct. Though Durant can also do what Lebron did in the hard court, I can't still get rid of my mind that that he was only able to achieved it mainly because he stick into a great team while on the other hand, Lebron already proved that he can carry what team he joins (seems Lakers do not belong in the list Grin). Knowing that, we can see the big difference. He will not be called the King just for nothing.
The next big star that it is rising is Antetokounmpo and when the King will retire he will be the best player in the world.
Hmm, I'm not sure with this. It might be Harden, maybe Curry, maybe Doncic or him, nobody knows? Nevertheless, Giannis has a lot of potential and I like him being a player because I can feel his monstrous performance without overpowering his humble attitude.

WTF is 178 to 164? I understand its a fun night and all but coming from "wade broke kobe's nose on all-star" and "Lebron tried to block kobe but mamba dunked anyway" into the age where the game ends 178 to 164 just simply SUCKS. I grew up watching Indiana and pistons basketball, spurs shutting everyone down, games ending under 100 points all the time, pistons keeping their opponents under 80 points 7+ times in a row.

Now, don't get me wrong I love the game to death and I don't want to change the whole game we play but at least all-star weekend could be a bit better. For the first time in almost a decade I did not stayed up to watch the game and honestly I am not regretting it at all.

The "three point" contest had 7 people in it and they all shot 25 shots in total, that comes down to 150 shots total, the all-star game itself had 169 three points tried, think of a game that has more three points shot than the three point contest itself, I love three pointers but that is tooooo much.

Yep I agree, watching that game is like watching a 3 point contest. A few years ago, it was all dunks and no defense, now it's all long range shots (or very long range) and still no defense.
Disappointing.

Lets just accept the fact that the game of NBA basketball has changed so much that they care less in the defensive end and focus more on the offensive power. If we all notice, every game, and every team, win or lose, they all end up in a triple digit score. It's rare to see a team who didn't reach atleast a hundred points. That clearly explains that the players doesnt play hard on defense.
IMO, its nice to see a high percentage offense, but its always the best if we see a game with an air tight defense.

It is really difficult to think what he can accomplished, I'm sure everyone will agree that the boy is still not yet in his prime but he can do a lot of things that a lot of veterans took years to accomplished. One thing he really needed is a good players, role players that's willing to sacrifice so that they reach the finals this year (hopefully).
Without any deeper help he will be disappointed even they are dominating the east by now but the adjustment teams has done it will be a tough journey for them to reached the finals, the 3 teams that's tailing them are very well balance and while the league is getting nearer to the playoffs more interesting adjustment will happen.

I am also a fan of that time.
Pistons, Wallace's, Billups, Rip and Prince. When the opposing team ends the game below 100 it is a sure win for the Detroit team.
In short, I am a fan of defense.
Lots of rule had been change. You can see they can now shoot jump shots so easily and even just your finger touches the shooter will get a foul. Even that small bump will get a foul and Harden is abusing that.

You wont see much of defense by now but there are still coaches who are good at it and want to focus a win thru defense.
NBA got a little soft but they need the money.  Grin
