I wonder on how long Oklahoma Thunders have to wait just to get one championship. The perfect example would be the patience of Raptors but as long as they are doing something to rebuild their roster, I think that as soon as they've got a nice line up with a combination of veteran and young ones they can nail one.

Initially reports say that Russ might be traded this summer, but seems this is very challenging. I don't know if there are suitor as this point for Russ as most of the teams now have already spend the big bulk of their money chasing top caliber athletes. Doesn't make sense for him to go to Houston, two dominant ball hogging guards? that's unheard of.

OKC's problem is not because of pure Russ. Look at how worst they are even Russ is out of the game and the team was led by Paul George. Take a look at their 2018-19 stats, their offensive power throughout that season is focused on PG but what the hell happened?

OKC needs to overhaul all its roster from head to toe. They are composed of players that lack aggressiveness. Russ nor PG can't extract what's more in their teammates. Containing these two in defense and offense will literally freeze the OKC. They need a player who will step up without hesitation or won't be intimidated by their seniors.

One of their options is to rebuild from scratch. They have acquired a lot of drafts picks because of PG13 trade. They can rebuild from the young talents they will acquire just like how the warriors have done with clay and curry. It will take them a long time but it is way cheaper than acquiring superstars right now.

If he can improves his jumpers, then maybe. Just maybe.

Way too late to improve his jump shots. I think it will not happen. All he can do is capitalize on his athleticism and hope he can surround himself with sharp shooters.

NBA teams do not like first round exits for some reason, I don't know why, you are getting more money, maybe its because okc was spending too much money, that seems to be the real issue with them. They have been over luxury tax for a long time and still only reached the first round, however it was obvious for them to stay at first round or at best second round, they were never a championship team at all, so to think that they were spending money knowing that and now stopped would mean they had enough.

Maybe they want to get back on under cap space and just focus on rookies and so forth and build again so they could just stay under the cap space and not pay 100+ mil extra money for now. That seems like only logical reason to give away Paul George for just some picks.

Yes that is one reason behind it.

Westbrook still got a $38m contract this year and $40m next year. That is a lot of money for one player who could make tributes and even 20-20-20 but yet cannot make it to the Finals.
It is a sad story for this young man. He is near his retirement and still cannot prove something.
With a lot of triple doubles he should have been making it to the Finals but yet still short even with Durant, Ibaka and Harden on his side.
Well he still have years to play.

If a player loves to stay and the manage agrees there would be no problem since they are the one that are paying the players, but if they see you are not anymore valuable like the amount they pay you, they will have to let you go or trade you, that's life in the NBA, no player can stay forever if the management will not agree.

Kobe Bryant was constantly demanding trades earlier in his career. He is far from a loyal player. Always had an attitude problem and a lot of his teammates hated playing with him. Money is the reason he stayed , it wasn't loyalty. He wanted to play in a big market. When Kobe was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets he demanded his way to Los Angeles.

I thought Kobe let the Lakers management chooses between him and Shaq? That's why Shaq was traded and Kobe became the Alpha in Lakers. Although he proved his worth by winning a championship without Shaq.

Thunder needs to overhaul, from the players to the management. Obviously, Russ can't give the city it's ring because he is a good individual talent, however, winning championship is more of a team effort. He should move and try to find a good partner. Him and George was good, but not enough to even win against Portland.

When it was once upon a time when Oklahoma Thunders had the best players. Undecided

During that time those players are still very young and inexperience. The likes of Durant, Harden and Westbrook was good to watch, but they are still green. And by the time most of the players, left, their career blossom. But just imagine if those three players was at their peak, they could have been unstoppable.

They really need to rebuild now, Westbrook did everything he could, specially after Durant left. But it seems he can't accomplished it. So it's time for him to be traded and OKC needs to find new set of players now.
