Now that season has ended I am curious to see any progress on the LA Lakers situation.
Last year it was pretty ba and I want to see if LeBron is going to solve the problems in the team and play a vital role in next season.

Naida, they already made a move. Out of all the teams out there, they are the first to make such a wild move and didnt even flinch to tell it to the social media. (twitter)

That is the Anthony Davis trade and they are already in good conditions about it.
I am just not a Rondo fan though. They need an offensive guy on their team while Lebron is already on his era where he could not run and gun that quick anymore.

Lakers needed a quick point guard so if possible keeping Rondo would be fit for AD, Kuzma and LeBron, he's a smart player who can create plays for his teammates,he also can add additional offense and defense since he's a veteran who can move the ball well and communicate with his team while making good decisions.

How about Lakers chasing Jimmy Butler?

https://lakeshowlife.com/2019/06/14/lakers-rumors-los-angeles-genuinely-interested-jimmy-butler/

For me it looks like this is a bad move. Yes he played a good playoffs but I don't think he will build a good chemistry with AD or even Lebron.

Rondo and AD played together before, so they already know each other, my worries here is if Lebron will act as point guard, he would destroy the chemistry.

Two injured in shooting during Toronto Raptors' NBA celebration

Quote
Two people are in custody after a shooting was reported Monday during the Toronto Raptors' NBA Championship celebration, Toronto Police said.
Police said they located two victims with injuries that are "serious but not life threatening."
Two firearms were also recovered and emergency responders are on the scene, police said.

Too much celebration for Toronto? I don't know if this is the first time we heard such celebrations involving shooting in a NBA championship celebration.

Anthony Davis joining Lebron James in Lakers, but the Lakers have depleted most of its core team. The two can't do it, they need more A side players to join the party plus B players who are willing to sacrifice and contribute day in day out.

We shouldn't be surprised by the Lakers-AD trade though, I mean Lebron is the one that's been pushing this for a long time so it's just a matter of time before it will materialised. AD has been very vocal ever since the news came out.

It might be a big risk specially for Lakers but I think in the long run it will be worth. Yes, the West has evolved again, we don't know the status of Golden State or even Houston next year, but Lakers definitely will be a contender.
Risky move by the Lakers' front office. Lebron James is aging, he and AD can't win a championship though they may reach the playoff IMO. This block buster trade really in favor of the Pelicans with the number of young players they can bring to their roster. This news create a buzz in Hollywood and it's good for business but i doubt if they can hold that Larry O'Brien trophy in the near future.

That's risky but they know better, they would not agree with the trade if they believe AD will not make the Lakers a championship team.
Let's just watch next season, I do believe that was a wise move, although risky.

Yes, just like I said, it's a calculated risk and Lakers front office are willing to take. Yes, LBJ is aging, but I think they're betting that in the next 2 years this combination with AD will bring rings to Lakers again.

But AD is just one piece of the puzzle, they need to get at least one good player in the roster and a coach that can work out with LBJ. So for me, it's a risk that will pay good returns in about 2 years.

NBA will want Lebron and the Lakers to be successful next year because he brings in the high ratings.  Expect most of their current roster t obe gone by the time next season starts.  Lebron is still a top 5 player in the league and it is a major waste of talent for him to not be in the playoffs.
I'm hoping for Lakers to have a good roster on next season and for those Lebron fans out there not to be dismayed once again that their idol didn't able to get into the Playoffs.hehe

Do not forget that when Celtics and nets made a trade for future picks in exchange of old stars the nets actually made a great improvement for one year but then they became very bad whereas Celtics became very good without even tanking because they had picks from nets that would give them good picks anyway. So, this could be the same, AD is a good player but Lebron doesn't have too much time left, he is what now 34-35?

He has maybe 3 more years and then he will retire so if they can't put a decent team together "next year" is not an option anymore. They need to become champions this year or at worst next year, after that their window of opportunity closes. Meanwhile pelicans will have zion + ingram + lonzo + whoever else plus 5 picks from Lakers to build around on top of their picks so they don't even have to tank to get better for the next 5 years.

Remember how they also did this before when they acquired Malone and Payton, it's not new to Lakers as they always take chances, we ain't sure how AD will help the team and how they perform this coming season, lots of talks and everyone have it's own opinions regarding to this but only time can reveal who really gain the favor from this trade.

We cannot tell this year who will benefit in this trade, we shall know once the next season starts and we can evaluate their record.
Right now, here we are again speculating on the Lakers, and I believe their odds to win the NBA championship next season will be a little favorite in betting sites.

I will take Patrick McCaw if I am their management. Grin

How about McGee though.
For mw he is one of the fastest center who can pick up with fastbreaks.
Perhaps Houston would want him for just 2.4M USD.
He can be a substitute to Capela and also when some big men is injured.
I cannot think of another team where he could fit.
But still ai believe that guy can play like a champion. There was just too much Shaqtin a fool which takes him down.

AD, LBJ and Kuzma. I dont think they are filled yet. They might take one more as a Rondo substitute.

Shoutout to those Lebron fans who switched to Toronto Raptors after Los Angeles Lakers didn't reach playoffs, and now they are back now to Los Angeles Lakers because of Anthony Davis  Grin
They have no choice but to cheer for another team during the finals since there's no Lebron. With the recent tweet of Lebron, well that verifies that he's going to play with Davis. Their team powered up and it's probably going to take back most of their fans. I find no fault for jumping to another team to support if the team you are supporting didn't reached to the finals. Another season and there will be change of rosters everywhere, Lebron being locked up to LA would be good but I think the Pelicans also won this trade.

With the pieces they sent in exchange for AD and his contract I really don't think that there is really that big of a risk for the Laker's future. If you are referring to the 3 first round draft picks sent to the Pelicans there value won't be as big as the Nets or Sacramento as Lakers will be a contender this season, Lebron don't have the time and patience for this draft picks to bloom, he doesn't even have patience for Ingram or Ball to grow. He wants a championship and getting one a top 3 center is one of it. With the cap space they have they can also sign another star in this Free agent filled season.

The season will start with a new sets of fans who will switch between teams, we can't removed the fact that those Lebron lovers really switch when they've
got eliminated then simply show interest with Leonard's when they've seen how great he is when the team reached the finals and win the title, and like what you have said, we will expect those fans to cheer back with Lakers coming this season.
