Warriors is the best team in the NBA, it's just normal to gain a lot of fans.

Tonight, I wasn't expecting that Cousins will play but he did play tonight, I'm now seeing them having a chance of winning despite still down at the moment.
Golden State Warriors played so bad this game 1 of the championship. I thought they will rage on the second half but it didn't. On the first half, the Golden State Warriors really didn't play well, maybe it because of Kevin Durant? Even Cousins played, they are still not enough for this.
Hoping they will improve on game 2.
I lose a lot of money in game 1, but will still be backing them in game 2.
Cousins has limited minutes that's why they got abuse in the paint, but that is just game one, the game is far from over.

Game 2 is interesting, looks like Durant will play which I'm hoping will happen, even if Cousins have to sit.

They are not just stupid gamblers, they are basketball fans as well who has watched the game for a very long time. In any case, this Raptors story might be similar to the 2004 Pistons which everyone was writing off according to some articles.

Curry's leadership will be test once again he needs to step up as the raptors giving him a headache, this double from Gasol making things very hard for him, they are down but there's a lots of time for both teams to adjust and create much better plan to win this game 1.

Both teams have it's own capabilities to comes up with a great game, until the last buzzer isn't done yet, there's always time to try winning the game.

Warriors down 10 now, the 2nd half is very important, they've been very good in 2nd half, we shall see if they can still be that good against the Raptors team.

I bet 50 dollars on the Raptors. They come in a spectacular crescent, with players, crowd and city in the same tune. GSW has a more complete cast with at least 3 franshise players, in my opinion. But it is one of the seasons where they have at least demonstrated dominance and superiority over other teams they used to demonstrate.

For the most seasoned NBA fans of this thread, how would the Raptors perform versus Golden State if the Raptors' role players step up to help Kawhi Leonard and consistently do it in every game? Do they have a chance to win the championship in 6 games?

Of course, every team facing GSW will have the chance, but it is slim. We all know that the Warriors is capable of doing, specially that Curry is really hot during the last 6 games and averaging 33 points if I'm not mistaken. And there are bench is already deep and there are a lot of players stepping up at the right moment. While Toronto is Kawhi plus a few players, so it is going to be tough for the Raptors.

It might not be slim. There were some basketball gamblers that I have talked to that predict the Raptors might surprise everyone and win the series in 5 games.

They are gamblers. So they want to bet on the underdogs because of the huge windfall. However, for some basketball 'experts', GSW is favoured to win this series against the Raptors.

They are not just stupid gamblers, they are basketball fans as well who has watched the game for a very long time. In any case, this Raptors story might be similar to the 2004 Pistons which everyone was writing off according to some articles.

It's game time and the pressure is piling up for both the warriors and the raptors. Everyone is expecting the Golden estate warriors to win the series but if I were to ask, I was hoping to see some upset in the series. I want the raptors to win by my heart but my money is on the warriors though.
Lol, today is the good time for you to win bigger if you put your money on the Warriors because they are the underdog on the oddsmaker. Upset, if there is, would be slim as the Warriors will be firing from all cylinders to get this very important game. They have the tools and championship experience so i wonder why oddsmaker put the Raptors the favorite to win game 1.

I can not believe how the line has moved to the GS Warriors 1.5 now I will be on this one tonight!
If KD was playing for GS they would be a favorite but they are doing a better job without him so the line movement confuses me a tad
I also think that GS will come out shooting well so I have GS to win in the first 12 minutes of play.

Between Raptors and Warriors in the upcoming finals, I don't see any reason why Game 1 winner here should dictate the series. We can expect a changed of game style the next game after testing strategies in Game 1.

You buddy forget that the one side win can be a break in the series and this is a huge advantage for Raptors as they are the weakest team in the finals.
Each and every match is important in the series and the teams should neglect no one of them.

Obviously, every match is important. Did I mention it's not? It's just that I disagree with the idea that a Game 1 winner will dictate the series.

Gaining confidence? Gaining an advantage?

Raptors in Game 1, Warriors in Game 1, whatever the result here will not make the winning team to gain confidence nor advantage in the next games. The pressure will still be the same. I do have some examples here that will spoil the idea of Game 1 ideology in NBA finals.

That is just too much for underestimating the Raptors.
They went through a lot of firepower too.
76ers is not an easy win for them. Butler, Redick, Harris and Embiid. That is one hell of a team and still the claw have done miraculous plays just to lift their team to the next round.

They aint weak to match up GSW. They have high defensive awareness unlike Houston. They also have Lowry and Kawhi to make up for the offense and do not forget about Green who should not be left on the three point line. Siakam to penetrate the paint and Gasol who could shoot all over the court.
I wouldn't say about their miraculous plays yet they do really have that capacity or firepower to win up those games. They might not have some impressive stats in the past
but now on the current line up/bench they do really show some progress and making their team play-offs capable and now we are seeing them on finals which I do see
that they do just beat out any team on the west they do play on.Its just normal that better team will always go into the top.

It would mean a lot because the game will be played in Toronto, I think it is the first game that is out of country ever if I am not wrong and that means Toronto will have some advantage with them, normally it is expected the team playing at home to play with some leverage and this time its both higher ground and cold and road trip so game 1 plays an importance. If raptors lose this game why do you think they can win at bay area when warriors literally have all the leverage with them?

I think it is clear that Raptors should start the series 2-0 in order to have a chance, if they start 2-0 which nobody really expects them to, then they will have a shot at getting the title, if its 1-1 or even 0-2 when the home road advantage switches then Raptors will have a hard time trying to beat warriors in California.

I'm with you, winning the game 1 doesn't win that it's going to be the winner of the series.

But with that advantage for every series, the game 1 winner is always getting the confidence for the whole series. A momentum for any team that's getting their very first game at the finals.

That's correct, but winning the series first would give a winning team more confidence.
It's a long series and we are expecting that would happen so this series would be exciting, I know a lot of us here are warriors fanatics but we should not underestimate the Raptors as they have proven they can beat even the best team in this season.

We are going to witness game 1 tomorrow, even if the Raptors will take game 1, I am still trusting the Warriors to win the series.

I agree with this tactics which are really well-observed which can really be based or forseen with their past games.Isolating or defending their scorers would be the
wisest move to be done but the question is on how long they would stand and do execute it properly knowing that GSW does adjust in terms of such potential problem been facing.
The thing here is that Warriors is versatile.if you isolate one or two of them, then the other 3 do compensate on whats lacking and thats what i do like with them.

That will be the problem for the next game. Of course they know GSW will adjust if ever they lose Game 1.
As of now, Game 1 will be really important. They need to at least steal one game with a large difference in score.

Getting the Game 1 would somehow be a sort of controlling the phase. It do really give out big impact on their next games but i dont really believe if Raptors will able to get this easily.
I agree with you on this point. Whoever controls game one will dictate how the series goes and since it is in toronto it will be hard for the warriors to just walk in a steal one infront of the raptor fans.
I doubt it will be blow out for either team because they are quite easily matched with durant out for this one game at the very least. Undecided
Just take a look on the sample of the poster above regarding Game 1's outcomes which is really a true story but on the other games which game 1 winning is really important.

It maybe just testing out the waters but generally i do see game 1 as an observation time against opponent team and recreating strategies later on basing on what they recently experienced.

I heard on a radio show this morning that using Martingale strategy for the NBA FINALS will not be a bad idea
They did the math and it makes sense to bet on the money line for GSW for each game if you think they will raise the trophy.
There are low odds for this team to repeat and good opportunity to earn some BTC.

@1.2 @1.3 @1.4 with a martingale? Goodluck. Smiley

Hope Raptors will take Game 1 so you can speculate an increase of odds the next game.

For me, not worth the risks.

I agree with you on this point. Whoever controls game one will dictate how the series goes and since it is in toronto it will be hard for the warriors to just walk in a steal one infront of the raptor fans.

Magic take Game 1 against Raptors = fail
Bucks take Game 1 and 2 against Raptors = fail
Celtics take Game 1 against Bucks = fail
Nets take Game 1 against Sixers = fail
Spurs take Game 1 against Nuggets = fail
Nuggets take Game 1 against Blazers = fail

Between Raptors and Warriors in the upcoming finals, I don't see any reason why Game 1 winner here should dictate the series. We can expect a changed of game style the next game after testing strategies in Game 1.

This is a bit off-topic given everyone's main focus right now...NBA finals which start tomorrow.

But what do you guys think of Daryl Morey's intention to break Houston Rocket's team? According to multiple reports, he is ready to part ways/trade everyone on their roster except for James Harden this off-season. Do you think that's a good move for Houston - trading CP3, Capela and others?
