The problem with this trade is that KP seems like he is not going to stay with Dallas for long.

If it was a trade that kept Porzingis on Dallas for a long time than there is no problem and Dallas got rid of Wesley Matthews for free and only sent Deandre Jordan and DSJ away, now Deandre Jordan is amazing and all that but he is old and he is not getting any younger so I would totally add him to the trade if I was Dallas, the only player that is good and still young they are sending is DSJ and honestly I would prefer KP any day of the week.

The only trouble Dallas has right now is the lack of depth, they have 2 great young players with Luka and Porzingis but basically no one else, if they can get couple more decent players they have a very bright future ahead of them, years of playoffs to say the least.

Dallas Mavericks received: Kristap Porzingis, Courtney Lee, Tim Hardaway Jr. , Trey Burke
New York Knicks received: Dennis Smith Jr., DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews, future first-round draft

This is unexpected. I mean it's not even on the "hype trading rumors".

For me as a long time Mavericks enthusiast, Im fine with the blockbuster trade. As I said back then here, Dennis Smith Jr. is not working well with Luka Doncic. He became different compare to last year on his rookie season where he is much impressive. About DeAndre Jordan, he is doing good but he is not sure if he will continue his Mavericks journey. His contract will be expire soon same with Matthews.

On the other hand, I don't know what New York Knicks is thinking. I thought Porzingis will be there future franchise player but they gave up on it. Not because of his injury I believed. Surely they are creating a large space to take advantage of the big names in the next free agency.

Thank you for this harizen.

I just woke up and saw the thumbnail in youtube of Stephen Smith reaction about Porzingis and I immediately went to this thread without even opening that video.  Grin It is more detailed here.   Wink

What the hell!!! Those are their star players being traded. What are they thinking??!! They are breaking their chemistry.
Are they really aiming for the playoffs this season or are they doing this for the future? I mean, Dallas doesnt do trades like this. It is way too much. They just got Deandre. How about Smith Jr.? That is one kid with a hell of a future.
I do not really care who won the trade here but it will be a long season for this players to create a great team again.

Thank God they didnt trade Doncic or I will really kill Mark Cuban.  Cool

Well you can't blame mark cuban if he wants to go more euro lol. The fact that a european was their top guy for a long time makes me feel good about this trade. And you can't blame this for ruining the chemistry dude, the mavs aren't doing that well anyways with deandre around. Now imagine kristaps and luka maturing and playing together. It's well worth the risk man.

They are not, they want to improve the chemistry, most especially with the NY Knicks because this team has no chance this season, they are one of the worst team in the NBA now,  and they think this trade decision is a better way for them to improve.

Mavericks are slowly improving but recently, they've been losing games since not all starters are effective, they did not trade Luka because he is the golden boy for the team, he make shots and though he is just a rookie but showed his toughness already.

Although we cannot conclude that their chemistry will work out right away, but at least they tried and maybe mavericks has a chance for the coming playoffs.

This is a big news in the NBA, not rumored but I think in this trade if favors the Mavericks.

Jordan is doing great but big man nowadays are shooting 3s, he can't though he has a little improvement in the free throw department.
Wesley Matthews and Dennis Smith Jr. are both inconsistent players, so I think it's alright to trade them with the 3 shooters from the Knicks.

The Knicks might only be after of Jordan, just my guess, because he is dominant inside and throughout his career, he is not prone to injury.

This news is confirmed. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25894335/dallas-mavericks-agree-trade-new-york-knicks-kristaps-porzingis

Luka and Porzingis would make mavs a contender?

Firepower yes but it needs time to form the chemistry. Porzingis can play SF/PF like Dirk Nowitzki but they have the same style with Luka. That's what they must worked on. Currently he still not playing. Tim Hardaway Jr. is a good SG too. I see that he can do what Smith Jr. does or much better.

Mavericks now have to cover the Big Man spot that DeAndre Jordan holds.

Let's see how this will goes.

Let's try that again: Dallas is finalizing a deal to land Kristaps Porzingis, league sources tell ESPN.

It is not everyone that like to be part of "the process". He doesn´t want to play for a team that has as the biggest goal tanking. Luka and Porzingis would make mavs a contender?

Lets not forget about Jokic right now, there are still players like cousins who is just turning from an injury as well. I mean a case could be made about Embiid being the best center in the league but it is definitely not a clear cut answer. Hell even Lamarcus and Anthony Davis played a lot of Center minutes this year which could be considered as "best" but also considered just top 5. Hence, Embiid "could" be best but its a very very close race.

I still think Sixers did a mistake with the butler trade, butler is a good player but also a bad teammate, if they wanted to give up Covington and Saric then they could have got someone who is a worse player than Butler but more "Sixers" than butler could be. Someone at a ariza but younger level, I don't know who that could have been.
Maybe he's just so hype seeing embiid played, but your statement was right we can't say that embiid is the most dominant center from this league, you named those list and I wanted to add green as he's leading the warriors though in a different form.

Regarding to that trade, seems right as we knew butlers attitude, if he's not like that wolves already have the complete competitive line ups, old bulls plus KAT and Wiggins, seeing how well Drose playing right now they can be a good combo together, the star caliber thing is what butler's have.

I mean he has the ability to dominate in the game specially during he's in the zone, he doesnt need to do such dangerous dunk attempts, he might pull up a Mcgrady.
Mcgrady indeed his career early, I don't know that was because of a failed dunk.

Speaking of Embiid, we can tell that he is the most dominant center in the league now, he has the ability to be consistent in free throw
and not only that, he is also a good 3 point shooter. If you notice, when he was remove during the players game, the Lakers were very aggressive
inside, so that would only say that the weight on Joel's should is heavy as he is carrying this team.

It was him not butler who is the heart of the team, butler was just a good addition but Joel is playing extraordinary basketball.

~~snip~~
Both are fun to watch with their sportsmanship.
The game last night was a joy to watch and if you had a little riding on the 16 point difference at the end of it all then even better.
Embiid did dominate the game and there wasnt anything the lakers could do about it since they dont have a big player with the powerfulness like a Lebron brings to there game to defend against it.
What makes the game exciting is because of Embiid really dominating the Lakers, the hard fall of Embiid was scary, he was a little short on timing on the Alley-oop dunk, maybe he was so careless on that game, they don't need to make some highlights move when they are up with a comfortable lead.

Embiid must not show off highlight dunks too much not only because they had a comfortable lead, but also because he's an injury prone player. If you remeber that day he was drafted, he got injured before the season starts and missed the whole season. I mean he has the ability to dominate in the game specially during he's in the zone, he doesnt need to do such dangerous dunk attempts, he might pull up a Mcgrady.

Tomorrow's game is supposed to be an exciting game between the GSW and Embiid team, but seems like his status is doubtful in tomorrow's game.

If he will not play, it's another easy win for the Warriors and the streak will continue.

Philly vs Lakers.

A great game for both team who had been having problems with their chemistry since the new addition of players and also the release of some old players.
But look at them. A lot of alley hoops which just proves how great a chemistry of a team is.
Joel Embiid leads the team at everything, points, rebounds and assists.
Ingram with his new career high at 36 points although they still lose against a better Philly.

Davis got fined $50k for making it public by his agent he wanted out of the pelicans.
That is alot for just a tweet. Undecided
Hardens streak ends tonight with a defeat from those pelicans.
From when I turned off the tv he had 27 points and only a minute and a half left to go.

What people are talking doesn't make sense, it is not a matter that he will make more money. He could ask for a trade and he could inform the team that he will no sign for an extension. What he could not do is talking publicly about this. And that is why he will have to pay 50k

It's part of their contract which is a protocol for most of the NBA players. But if they just made it as a 'rumor' I think that will make sense and it won't be sued as fine for him. And $50,000 is just a peanuts to him compare on how much the contract he has.

I think the transfer of Davis to Lakers is for real though there's no confirmation yet and most of the news that I've come up with were just rumors. But it's a good power up if he ever has a click with Lebron.

AD will make that money in less than one quarter.  Wink

Funny though, Jimmy Butler and the shenanigans that he pulled off before finally being traded, including 15min ESPN aired interview, got him no fines.
I think he got the fine because Lebron is in on the whole thing of persuading him to come to LA so he can have another big man on the team with some muscle just like what the warriors did with boogie cousins.
And the league doesnt want Lebron to making it look like he runs the league and to put him in check so to not get his way.
It is all politics.
It was funny listening to the La game against Phila last night. The announcers were dropping hints of Anthony Davis and the trade but were not wanting to cross the line with what they were saying.
One comment was he would just not pay the agent who leaked his wanting a trade for two months and recoup his money back from the fine. And another was he would declare it as a tax write off. Cheesy

He knows that even if he plays with other team, he will still get a better compensation as there are only few big men in the NBA who are as good as him.
Yup! He is one of the best power forward/center in the league. The demand for him was high that's why it's not surprising to know if Boston, Lakers and other teams are battling to get him.

Now that I've heard the possibility of AD being traded to Celtics, I become even more interested to him. If ever happened, Boston will be a power house for sure. However, I'm a little bit worried because I also heard a rumor about Kyrie's trading Sad.

I'm more comfortable with davis in boston honestly. I don't think the lakers would be a good deal since he may end up as another kevin love to Lbj. Even if people say the two are on an entirely different level talent-wise, love was a dominant figure in the wolves' games averaging monster numbers both in points and rebounds, much like how ad is with the pelicans.

I didn't expect that Houston was to lose from Pelicans. I thought that Harden will be in an amazing game again and continue his scoring madness in this game as well. It was very disappointing to see him scoring low, but as he might be tired in some games the rest of the players should help him by taking some incentives in the attacking part.

Any team that will be getting Anthony Davis will get the best trade possible in preparation of next season as long as they get to keep some of their key players. Whether it is the Lakers or the Celtics they will have the perfect chance of offloading some of their players in order to free up some cap space in the upcoming free agency. The trade itself will attract a lot of free agents to that team as they know it's their best opportunity to win a championship. The 2019 free agency is really loaded right now with stars and I know some of them are willing to take a pay cut just to team up with a championship caliber team.
