It is always really difficult to trade a player who wants out. Other teams know that you are trying to trade that player and they do not offer a great players in return, remember when celtics wanted kyrie ?

They gave an injured defensive liability player with a player whose only upside is its defense on the system they were playing. Look at kawhi, derozan is an amazing player but spurs lost its best player who was a top three player at his prime with the best wing defender at green and only got one derozan with some sidekick with him. When a player wants out, its really close to impossible to get a fair trade deal.

Jimmy Butler is acting strange so definitely, Minnesota Timberwolves must get rid of this player right away. Even he is good, Twolves must understand that there is no reason for them to keep this guy as it might just result in unual plays.
If a player wants out, management should not hesitate to release him as this will not bear good output on the team's performance. In Butler's case, front office should make a good deal with other teams interested of his service, get young player with potential and let other teams contend Butler's attitude problem.

Or he can still stay to the league but not as a player but can be a coach or assistant coach or a trainer which mainly focus with shooting.

Just like what happened to Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Steve Kerr and others.

Good idea.
But I would prefer him to be a trainer instead.
Assistant coach or coach which is that huge maybe the first time in NBA.  Grin at 7ft
It is Kevin Mchale who have been the tallest at 6'10. It is just awkward looking up at a coach every time he will tell you something near you.  Grin

But I would love to see him more at the American Airlines Center instead of other teams. I do think Mark Cuban could let that happen since Dirk had been faithful with Dallas.

Have you guys watched the training video from lakers twitter ?

That's probably the last thing you should watch/ judge a team by.
It's like all these off-season individual workout videos all over the internet, where dudes don't miss a shot. For example, Hoodie Melo from last year.  Grin

Preferred destinations he would consider signing long term - Knicks, Clippers and the Nets
That possibly means no TimberBulls!  Cry
For me, I expect this to happen. Maybe Butler doesn't want how Coach Tom is coaching his players or he doesn't want his old teammates Cheesy.

For long term, I think Clippers will the best team Butler will fit. I think hes veteran experience will help young players there. Butler and Williams will be a good duo I think but not as good as other duos. Knicks?? Hmmm maybe he and Porzingis combination. Nets??? Hmmmm he doesn't fit there.

Why do you think that he didn't mention Lakers?

Of the teams that we speculate for him to be traded, I would like to see him with Lakers if there is a possibility.
There is always a change that we do not expect will happen and I like him to be in the team that is hungry to reach the playoffs and that is the lakers.

Well everybody seems to want the lakers to be instant title contenders eh? Jimmy butler brings a lot but the lakers are probably out of his choices. Funny how the guy seems to just want to be away from his bulls teammates lol.

Even if Jimmy Butler preferred three teams I don't think it will be neither one of them as they really don't have much to give and Butler only chose those as he can potentially have a max contract there, other teams such as Blazers, Celtics, Miami, 76ers, and Lakers also still are realistic targets as the organization is still the one who will choose where will Butler land and for what players/picks they will receive. Minnesota only has one shot at this and I hope they don't blow the future up with just one trade.

Butler will become free agent next year so whatever deal he can take on his current proposed trade, there should be no problem to him as his goal was to a) signed a contract extension, not with Twolves b) max contract (that will offered by other teams).

Don't know the "real" drama between Butler and the Wolves but whatever it is, looks like he is aiming for one thing.

Why do you think that he didn't mention Lakers?

He ain't going to Lakers, i mean he still can be traded, but will not commit to sign a long term deal. Yesterday, i read some of these "league source tell'' reports that he was initially interested in Lakers but that was before LeBron joining the team. I guess not everyone is super-hyped to play with passive-aggressive drama queen.

I agree, I'm sure that he doesn't want to play under the shadow of James. We know that he is a great player, but his more of a diva type, he always want to be the alpha or franchise player but he hasn't deliver anything to merit this supposed to be superstar status.

The obvious choice would be Knicks, but they don't have much except for Kevin Knox and Hardaway Jr.
Don't discard Jerry West though..

Obviously, Knicks will be a good option if he really wanted to the the face of the team. He can demand more as Knicks is hungry for for a player that can bring back some glory days and put fans to watch their every game.

I have watched some of the camp training videos, and they also said Ball is still not in full contact. They thought Ball was supposed to be healed in the Training camp but no. Just taking part in the exercises and not in the scrimmage.

With the plays that they have, I think it wouldn't be a worry to the adjustments; probably they already did and discussed it.

Shoot. That hurts. But if he is doing some exercises then maybe it is just a mild injury by now. They might just be doing some test if he could somehow move his body.
Well, as long as he is there to see the game plays then I think they are still in good position.

But he really needs to get healthy before the start of the season.
This may be the possible starters of the Lakers team.

Lonzo Ball-Kenatvious Caldwell-Pope-Brandon Ingram-LeBron James-JaVale McGee

If I am right they may put Kuzma in the 2nd team with Rondo as point. It is like a football team out there. There is a team for offense and also for defense.  Grin

Butler wants to be the superstar of the team like he was in the Chicago Bulls.
Now, he is hoping to land a team where he can lead, yeah you are right, he could be a great help with the Knicks but lets see how this trade
rumor will end.

It seems like lakers have build a team that has proper players on great positions with each teaching the youngsters how to play maybe except at center position where its just mcgee at this point but lakers knows that centers are now "tall PF" type players.

Yes saw it days ago on my news feed on Facebook being shared by a certain NBA fanpage.

Just didn't saw Rajon Rondo in action. The way the highlights has shown, we can see that they are not a championship caliber team compare to the dominant teams today but has chances to fight for the trophy. Lakers did a great job sacrificing several seasons to build this lineup. And they are not done yet as obviously they are supposed to get another superstar next FA.

A shooting school would be amazing if Dirk manage to have that and for sure many will enroll to it especially those aspiring players and young potentials.

Honestly he's always there to mentor those aspiring players. In Germany, he's one of the instructor of those players who are part of their delegation in international events (FIBA for example).

We all talk about how lebron came to lakers and expects to get at least one more ring in 1-2 years and spending this year as just waiting period for next years FA however lakers are getting something out of this, they are getting lebron to teach young players to play like him. A great master teaching a student type deal.

Welll it is Magic who is behind so maybe he really did that for a reason.
Looked for veteran players who have reached playoffs and most off them are champions.
With Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram getting used to their kind of game, the Lakers is already a winner at that point.
Imagine investing with this players with just a little amount and then suddenly they could be stars even if they will be behind this veterans as a second team.
I would really like to see how fast they will adapt with them.
