The finalists for the six awards that honor top performers from the 2017-18 regular season are now announced:

NBA MVP:
James Harden - I think it's Harden's time now.
LeBron James
Anthony Davis

Rookie of the Year:
Donovan Mitchell
Ben Simmons
Jayson Tatum - Almost out of the nominees but now on favorites because of his big contribution to the Celtics on where they are today.

Coach of the Year:
Dwane Casey
Quin Snyder
Brad Stevens - Well no doubt.

Defensive Player of the Year:
Rudy Gobert
Joel Embiid
Anthony Davis - +1

Most Improved Player:
Victor Oladipo - After he was traded to Pacers, Oladipo has been their scoring leader from the start of the season and maintained it until the end.
Clint Capela
Spencer Dinwiddie

6th Man:
Lou Williams
Eric Gordon - Playing like a starter.
Fred Van Vleet

Trevor Ariza is playing like the Los Angeles Lakers days. His early blast gave Rockets a good phase before the half. Steph Curry also admits that some of Rockets guys adjust (Ariza, Tucker, Gorden) that's why it turned out like that. Surely we can see a state of numerous adjustments over adjustments in this series.

Remember what I said here. Celtics in 4.

Like I said prior to the series, "it has chances". There is still Game 3 and 4.

Celtics vs Cavs on Monday. Anyone that has insider if one from the team can't play or all of them are capable?

Cleveland Cavaliers squad are all capable to play.

For Boston Celtics, aside some of their players who are rested for rest of the season/playoffs, the recent one who got injured is Shane Larkin on their Game 4 matched between the Philadelphia 76ers. Although at some point that this guy really helps on defense, his average stats is low so I think his absence can't really bring a bad impact from the whole Boston Celtics squad.

Don't worry about Cleveland Cavaliers and Lebron James because they can't even make any win with in their match between Boston Celtics. They will not go to Finals! Boston in 4. Thoughts?

I don't know if you really following NBA but even for a 100% Lebron James haters can't ever think of that. Smiley Although it has chances, it's difficult to imagined that Cavaliers will take a rest without any win if ever Celtics will got the series.

I think the majority of Celtics fans will say Boston in 6 but not Boston in 4.

So it's like you saying 0.001% to sweep the Cavs by Celtics. I know cavs sweep raptors but. Let see what will happen for cavs now. I really trust this young Celtics to do that on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. It's gonna be Rockets vs Celtics in 2018 NBA Finals.

Remember what I said here. Celtics in 4.

Let us see Game 3 first.
Lebron and Kevin Love can still smile at the post game interview of Game 2.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2FK2n3T1Vk

I guess they are still confident that they can take them on. But it cannot be just with their home court cause they will still lose.
Maybe they have a new game plan that is being worked out.
Game 3 will tell if they really made some change.
Houston already did.
Playing on teams home courts does really give some confidence into its players that they do have the advantage that they do own that place but same as you said they are still prone to lose which we have seen how many times on how a team lose even playing into their own home courts.
Smiling into that interview is just a normal thing because it would turn out on not having an etiquette if you do show up your true emotions which will come out thru your actions and thats how professionalism can be seen but they should really have other game plan on this upcoming game 3 if they would like to break up bostons pace.

I was really surprised at how James and Love can smile despite of having a 0-2 deficit against Boston. Maybe they are just happy that they will be back on their home court and can feel comfortable and very positive that they can get a win in the next 2 games. We will have to see.

I think the changes is pretty obvious, everyone should really help and contribute not just on defense but on getting some points on the board. Love, Korver, Smith and Thompson should really step up their game in the next game.

@joebrook, KD is really the spark of GSW and no longer Curry. I think Curry already accepted that fact that's why we are not seeing numbers he used to do before.

Rockets are killing them today because they all know if they do not win this game they are done.
Golden State will not allow them to twin any more games if they do not win this game. Durant would not allow it! Grin
I put an extra bet with under 225.5 points for the total score so hoping all my bets win tonight because the Warriors at half time look like they are on the run losing 64 to 50. Wink

Well played. Harden was at his usual and they were able to defend homecourt this time. Hopefully they bring the momentum to game 3 though we all know how difficult it would be since the warriors will be playing at home. I'm rooting for a different finals encounter this time
Well deserved win for the Rockets. They try to match shots by shots and its very ugly because of turnovers and missed shots. However, Houston suddenly finds it rhythm and Golden State cannot match it. Again KD is the only bright spot on the Warriors side as he remains consistent with 38 points. But Warriors has still the advantage because the next games will be on their turf. I'm expecting a good game from their Big 3, specially Curry after his lack luster showing in Game 2.
Very decisive victory for the Houston Rockets and am beginning to think that Durant is the main player of the team because in the last two games, he alone has been the dominant spark that keeps the team going, The likes of Curry have been ineffective. The Rockets need to take their form to the third game and make sure they win at least one of their away game.

Actually this is the kind of game that I am expecting from both teams, both going over 100 points but what I am not expecting is the 22 point margin. I am not sure if GSW is over confident and they didn't expect Houston will make a come back or they just want to bring the game to their turf.
If you see the first round and the second round match up of GSW, in every road game they are losing one and they are winning one game then they will win 2 games in their home. If this will happen again against Rockets, there is a high chance that GSW will go again in the finals. GSW I think didn't over confident but they I think they just let the Rockets win although this is just my opinion. If you see Steve Kerr, he is sitting only and he is calm because he believe in his teammates. Maybe they lose in the game because they have done it with purpose. If GSW will pull a win in Games 3 & 4. it will be 4-peat for them for sure.

I don't think that coaches "intentionally" wants to lose a game, not in playoffs. I thinks its more of like a losing cause already and perhaps Kerr has other plans in mind. He did try to fight though but Houston is too much specially when their 3's are going in. They still have the homecourt advantage that's why they can afford to lose this one. Players will be well rested going on the next game and it will be on their side. If by chance they win the next 2 games in their home court then its game over.

Definitely a must win game for the Houston Rockets, the GSW are not in favor in terms of officiating, I notice that.
It's a gift actually, you should take that, now that we are in game 3, I think this would be an obvious win for the GSW as they are heavy favored at -7.
Most likely a blowout win as well as a revenge.
Not that GSW is confident that they can win over Houston Rockets but posting a win in you own court will be icing on the cake. Definitely GSW will take advantage of that.

Checked Nitrogen Sports and the odds for tomorrows game is +377 for Houston Rockets and -515 for Golden State Warriors. I am itching to place my bet to Houston Rockets since its still a home court advantage to them and after their loss on Game 1, they should have learned how GSW play.
This is exactly how I was thinking! Wink

I placed a bet for Rockets to win at home -1.5 points and also +1.5 points just in case.
LoL! Cheesy

They have got to win at home in this series because they won so much during the regular season and this has got to count for something.

Harden wreak these stupid swing brother who splash eachother on the off season! Cheesy
Now I'm kicking myself for not going with my plan. Houston is leading with 117-91 with 5 minutes in the clock. That's a 26 points lead for Houston.  Sad
Next game is Cavs against Celtics and odds are +178 for Cavs and -222 for Celtics. Its going to be home court advantage for the Cavs but looking at the previous game of Cavs they don't have that rhythm yet to beat Celtics. tables maybe turned once they stepped in their home court.

I guess I was wrong about the Celtics. They just proved that even with an unexperienced team with a good young talents can potentialy win against a strong opponent. They just played very well, and I guess we'll gonna see different team in the finals.
They are a very different team from last year's ECF and so is the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics have the advantage here over the Cavaliers because James and some of the new faces of the Cavs needed time to acquaint and jell to the system of coach Tyron Lue.
They have had enough time to get used to each other. A whole season for that and more for a lot of players. They even beat the top seeds in the Toronto Raptors. There are supposed to be no excuses at this point. It is the Conference finals.. not some exhibition game to not "gel" and all. LeBron has come out hard this game but theres only so much they can do by himself. The Celtics are just a better team altogether with players stepping up at the right time. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown showing up big time and cant forget scary terry! Smiley
I was wrong about them too Smiley I thought that Celtics can not do much without Kyrie. They are really great composed team. I have so much respect to Brad Stevens and his assistants. And my favorite player last night was Marcus Smart. What an energy that man has, giving so much to the team, especially in defense.
How much more if Irving was there? For sure we would really able to see a very competent performance.I didnt even expect for this team to bloom out and defeating cavs 2 times in a row.If this momentum would continue then we would definitely see another team in the finals which would oppose or break most peoples expectations. 3rd game would happen on Cavs homecourt they should really make some comeback if this would turns out to 3-0 then this is already a dangerous situations for Cav team.

I would say that it might be a blessing in disguise. Without Irving, Celtics team really works very hard entering the playoffs. And now when they face Lebron in the East finals, they poured everything at both ends of the court.

The key is how they rotate and not giving enough space for Lebron, although he made a lot of points in the second game, it's still not enough to get the W. I'm not surprised at Jayson Tatum, I already knew that he will be a good player in the future.

So we are back in the Cavaliers homecourt, I'm sure that the Cavs will win Game 3 and make it 2-1.

Well talking about Kyrie, if he played this series it would have been a different outcome. The game play would be different , because kyrie is their main man and he will be expected to control the ball as he is an offensive superstar and he's not the type of pass first point guard just like Rondo. Neverthless, it still good to see a game with both healthy teams, yet what we're witnessing today is a good competetive young Celtics.

Yes. The absence of Irving, make way for more minutes on the court to Terry Rozier. He is actually a part of the bench squad but now become a started since Irving left. Same with the absence of Hayward. Brad Stevens successfully filled the missing link and those who are selected don't turned him down.

Anyways, the problem with Cavaliers is all of them. They are all about LeBron James. Just noticed that everytime LeBron is on the bench, both offense and defense are crashed by the Celtics. I think Korver is in good shape at early phase but it didn't maintained at the end. Overall, all Cavaliers squad aside from LeBron are not performing well. Can't see a ball hog issue to LeBron on the other side as he has 12 assist. His teammates are literally heavy.

Celtics is playing purely with a role players, same with the Cavaliers squad but we can see how Celtics managed to do it good. No surprised if Celtics will won this series and they really deserved it.

Yes. That is all hardwork. They really deserve the Finals if ever they will continue this kind of game.
They got nothing to lose. That is the best player in the world they are playing and they are all newbies which got a lot of years to play.
It is a chance of a lifetime to successfully get out there with a good fight.

Now what could Tyron Lue's gameplan be. They should really create something out of those bench players.

The good thing on Celtics team is that they do really have the rotation and each players do have their significant role which means they dont really depend on just a single or double scorer. All of them do have the capability to make basket and thats a good thing where you wont really stress yourself out just like on whats Lebron doing. He pursue and strive on his own, i cant say it isnt bad but team coordination and effort of each member should be done.

Exactly, the only other team that I see that has a good rotation is Golden State. They can really defend that pick and roll and no matter who the player switches to defend, there's always someone at the background willing to help in case its a mismatch. This is what the Celtics is doing on the Cavs right now, which makes it difficult for Lebron and the rest of the team.

Coach Stevens really make a lot of adjustments and the team responded. That's why they are in the Conference Finals and giving the Cavs a good run for their money.
