Let us know see if he can carry this Celtics because the argument that he is too green to lift Cavs before does not carry any weight anymore for him. He has in this league for long and now he needs to prove his detractors wrong.

What a tough first game specially for Kyrie, As I see it, it will be a good match to watch specially the first game of the NBA. Of course, Lebron and his Cavs will have the upperhand here. And I'm pretty sure that this will be an emotional game between Kyrie and IT. I can feel that IT was very disappointed by the move of the management by letting him go so he will give a good showing in this game. While Kyrie wants to prove that he can carry a team and will not be forever on Lebron's shadow. But I predicted then Lebron will show who the real 'King' is and takes over the game.

I see Cavaliers will win this game by 80% chance. The addition of Kyrie isn't really a big threat for them. Remember Cavs and Celtics matchup last playoffs, no Celtics player there can shutdown Lebron offense. But on the other hand, Celtics offense might improved due to Kyrie's isolation and shooting skills. Thomas doesn't need to go Isolation on this guy always as they can do some 1-1-3 zone defense to stop Kyrie from doing magic shot.

Just imagined playing on the same floor, Derrick Rose = SG , IT = PG , LBJ = SF ;all are perimeter shooters. How will Celtics defend this guys without harming their center defense.

I agree. He was not at fault at this one. Heck it even went under the radar for most basketball fans. They should give him the respect he deserves. Even most of us was caught with the sudden decision of the management to let him go because we are seeing him as the new alpha in that time. But the management has made its decision already. They want Kyrie more than Isiah and I hope they make the right decision. And far as Isiah, I think he will really give a good showing with the Cavs uniform this season and with him and Lebron as 1-2 combo, it will be a good showing for the Cavs this year.

The happenings is really surprising and now these two teams will be meet on the opening tip off day so fans couldn't wait for long time to see how will this things goes out. Kyrie in another jersey will really makes things different.

Just hoped that both Lebron James and Kyrie Irving will play on that game so that it will be more exciting how will these players will collaborate on court wearing a different uniforms.

The Celtics still don't have what it takes to compete with the Cavs so I don't think the comments from Ainge saying that they needed to upgrade after the East Finals are correct. I mean, he's right but I don't think these Celtics will give Cleveland any trouble. However as I mentioned some posts ago, what if Lebron leaves next year to a Western Conference team?

I think that's what the Celtics are betting on, if that happens they will reign in the East for many years to come with this roster and up and coming young players, so in that way it was a bold and interesting move.

We have to realize that IT4 is already 28 years old and last season's performance might have been his peak already. Also, the Celtics are not sure if they are going to give him max contract by end of next season, so rather than losing him for nothing, they got a younger player who is still in contract for the next few years. But then again, we wouldn't know how things willl really turn out until we see how the Cavs and the Celtics turn out to be 5 years from now.

I don't agree with that, IT being 28 years and reaching his prime? Come on, 28 for basketball is so young! He's playing his best years, especially a small guy like him. I do agree that he's somewhat limited because of his size but that's nothing new, so his ceiling would not be as high as other more dominant players, however that doesn't mean he can't score +20 ppg all season long, he's a very reliable scorer and a dead cold clutch one too. In that way he's very similar to Irving. I would say he's even a better defender but he's hindered by his height again, but you can't blame him for that.

Now Irving has a lot of defensive and concentration lapses, sometimes you can see he has what it takes to be a good defender (with blocks and steals) but most other times it's just baffling.

Quite good, the deal for both teams seems to be helpful and they are happy with the trade.

And for their offense, still we I can't have an insight about this thing until I watch the play of the new roster of Boston.

When it comes to defense, yes you said it Crowder is good at it.

I'm not sure though. It is really tempting if you're offered a player of kyrie's caliber but boston just came from a really good run last season with the core that they have now. I'm not sure how this trade is going to work out for them but definitely the cavs will benefit highly from this.
