It looks like Kristaps Porzingis is ready to go for the Finals. He participated 100% in their last practice doing everything the rest of the team did. This is good news for Boston who was hoping he would be the final piece they need to get their first championship in the Tatum Brown era. I like their odds.

He is good addition to Boston as center since Dallas center Gafford and Lively seems unstoppable with playoff mode. Even Gobert and KAT are nothing compared to Dallas which is just recently step up their game that contributed big time on defense of Dalls this playoff run.

I wonder if Boston can stop the Dallas momentum or they will be overwhelmed by Dallas since they don’t have any tough opponents on their playoffs run while we all know thta Boston always choke during finals.

One thing is for sure, all their games will be on run and gun strategy since both teams have a very high accuracy shooters.

I'm going in on Dallas game one amd was planning on betting Dallas each game but if KP is ready to go I might have to slow down.  He honestly is the difference maker here.  Dallas doesn't have anyone that can guard this dude outside.  When he is on he is unstoppable at7 foot and deadly behind the arc.  Opens up the inside for brown and taytum with wide open kicks to players like white.  KP is theor piece they need.

Kings' Brown gets big raise, deal extended through '26-27, agent says
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40253896/kings-brown-gets-big-raise-deal-extended-26-27
Quote
Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown has agreed on a contract extension that will take him through the 2026-27 season with a raise to $8.5 million per season, his agent Warren LeGarie told ESPN on Friday night.
He did a great job for the Sacramento Kings, he deserves that increase and the contract extension. The Kings are playing like a copy of the Golden State Warriors plays and it works great for agile players like Fox and Monk. Plus, Sabonis is not a slow center, unlike the others. i.e. Gobert. So he can always catch up whenever their two backcourt players are making a transition play.
I think what the Kings lacking is just chemistry. They need a stronger relationship between Fox and Sabonis although there's already proof that they have some of it.
Polishing the roleplayers, that's also a key to making their team stronger. 2nd team. They need a leader on that. It cannot just be Monk because whenever he is injured the 2nd team will be like a dead team. I think the Kings will be making some moves next season. Fox, Monk, and Sabonis will remain but I doubt the other guys.

I just don't know what happened. He's got no more contract now? which team will likely sign him next season?

--> https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40252054/brooklyn-nets-dennis-schroder-german-soccer-club-debut-fc-germania-bleckenstedt

He still has contract next season;
https://hoopshype.com/player/dennis-schroeder/salary/

He was originally signed by the Raptors for two years contract but was eventually traded to New York Net.

Quote
The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to acquire guard Dennis Schroder and forward Thaddeus Young in a deal with the Toronto Raptors, the teams announced Thursday. After acquiring Dinwiddie, the Raptors then waived him.

Nets receive:

Dennis Schroder
Thaddeus Young

Raptors receive:

Spencer Dinwiddie
https://www.nba.com/news/raptors-nets-trade-schroder-dinwiddie

So I guess he was just temporarily playing while NBA is still off, he'll be back for sure when the practice will officially start.

I've seen a post from sources that Dennis Schroder played in a German Football team. Yes, a football team. I was just surprised although this isn't the first time that happened from an NBA player.

I just don't know what happened. He's got no more contract now? which team will likely sign him next season?

I mean it is the sixth division, how hard could it be? If this kid is German, he probably played a little football while growing up even if he was a basketball player, and considering he played at NBA for many years, his body is definitely better than almost anyone (probably everyone) at sixth division even at his age. So, it is not like it was a serious thing, plus I have no idea what game they had, the leagues are almost over in most big leagues, didn't know how sixth division works but I guess they had a game.

All in all, this is more like just fun thing, like how Husain Bolt "played football", I mean he really didn't, but he is the fastest man alive, so it was  PR move and they let him, this seems like a similar situation.

I watched almost all the games in the play-offs. The Mavericks came from a harder path. The Celtics made it to the finals without a real test because they played relatively weaker opponents. From this point of view, we can say that the Mavericks are more prepared for this challenge. If the Celtics manage to play game endings better, this time they can get the expected championship. I'd say Boston in 6.
That's why they had a pretty good record coming into the NBA Finals.

2 gentlemen sweeps (4-1) and a sweep from the Pacers. In the teams that they fought against, all of them have all-star that are injured. The Heat didn't have Butler all throughout the series, the Cavaliers' Mitchell didn't play in the 2 most crucial games and the Pacers didn't have Haliburton in the final 2 games. I would say that the Celtics have an easier path coming to the NBA Finals, but it wasn't their fault as well that the other teams' all-star players are injured. I agree with what you said though that the Mavericks had a harder path coming in because of how tenacious the teams in the Western Conference are.

As for my predictions, if Porzingis will play, and Holiday and White manage to at lessen the performance of Luka and Kyrie, I will go Celtics in 7, but if any of these 3 will not happen like if Porzingis does not play, I will go with the Mavericks in 7 games immediately. Smiley

Well, it's good that he's back after missing the first 3 series. Now the question is, will he play the whole NBA Finals.
I hope that he will because this is his first NBA Finals, and the Celtics get him for this reason. They traded players just to get Porzingis because they need height in order to defend the paint way better. If he will play the whole NBA Finals like I said, I will go with Celtics with this one in 7 games.

Anyone see Luca trying to enjoy a beer last night and the Vice President of the team comes up to him, shakes his hand and then takes the beer away  Cheesy  I mean wtf.
What a coincidences, I've just watched that footage and he seem to be really disappointed at all. LOL  Tongue

Anyway, that was Michael Finley. A former Mavs player and now has a good position in the Mavs organization and also has won 1 title.

I saw that too and actually laughed because Luka just gave a look like "no problem I will just get another one".  Not sure if it was staged but if not let your dudes enjoy the win.  It's a long season and you shoukd be able to enjoy the little wins throughout the playoffs.  I did think it was hilarious though that he didn't even blink am eye just snagged it from him

Yeah funny to see that footage since that really means Dallas management is so serious dealing with certain situation and they don't want Luka to do something that can affect his performance.

There's nothing to celebrate yet since the battle didn't end so maybe once they are done and win the championship then for sure they would provably allow Luka to drink his beer. But for now he should avoid it and focus to perform more better since we know Mavs need his contribution that's why he need to rest and take care of his injuries.

Celtics is tough opponent so I guess they need to have good preparation since they will undergo on intense game with Celtics.

I haven't watched the playoffs as closely as I normally do, but I definitely agree with your point here.  I think it should be a pretty entertaining/well balanced finals.  I can't see either team just taking it down going like 4-0 or 4-1.

I’m seeing videos on social media seemingly showing Anthony Edwards being pretty upset with Karl Anthony Towns for asking him to pass the ball. It seems like that team has some issues and I wonder if we haven’t seen the last of KAT in a Timberwolves uniform. That would certainly be an offseason shakeup.

Since the season is over, it is normal to see discussions. If the team were champions, of course there would be discussions, but now the falling out between them is something that could happen. Being a team is not easy, being a great duo is also very difficult. That's why it shouldn't be a problem if there are problems between players from time to time.

I just learned that the Dallas Mavericks have the chance to be the first 5-seed to ever win an NBA championship… I find that a little hard to believe to be honest, but apparently the only other 5 seed to make the NBA finals was the 2019-2020 Miami Heat. I don’t think that really matters at all anyway, but a cool fact nevertheless.

Luka is unstoppable.

Let's see how they're going to stop him. That slowmo kind of offense, and then with some passing which they won't know who's free outside of the paint.

I like that type the way he plays. Quite buff and has ball handling and shooting. I guess that they're going to lock him down with some double team but they shouldn't be confident with that.

Everyone from the Mavs has shooting as well from the outside like Washington.

There were videos showing double team isn't effective against him because creates an opportunity for him to pass it to the open man or lobs it either to Gafford or Lively. If he can't score, he gets an assist. It's the reason why they are saying he is unstoppable on the court.

That's the problem if you put a double with Luka, he's an high I.Q player and those recievers both inside and outside will surely kill that free shots, especially if you have Irving and Washington plus Lively and Gafford very young talents with a full-pack skills, I like to see if how Boston will counter that and what will be the plan this coming game 1.

We will see who's going to have a good game plan and how they will execute the system, good luck everyone!

Kleber, Powell, Lively, and Gafford... they are a key to dominate the Celtics in the paint this series.

They certainly are a problem especially the 2 big men who have earn big minutes during the WCF. I just watch a video about how fans of Celtics really hate Kyrie, I think this is going to be fun as in game 1 it will be in TD Garden where the fans will certainly come to support the home team. As to the betting odds now, Celtics are heavily favored, but I like the Dallas as they went through a tougher challenge compared to the Celitcs.

@OP maybe it's time to change the poll now.

I think the Celtics matchup pretty well against the Mavericks. They’re also a little more familiar with Kyrie’s game than most. I think this series will come down to if Luka can keep performing magic or not. I’m leaning towards Boston though.

I agree and think it would be nice to see a poll on who will win the Finals.

I don't see Luka getting limited in the NBA Finals, if he was able to carry his team before and beat the Suns to advance in the WCF, just unfortunate they loss to the Warriors but Luka still are very productive in that game.

in the 5 games they played, you can see an impressive stats of Luka.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/2022-nba-western-conference-finals-mavericks-vs-warriors.html
https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/luka-playoff-stats-vs-warriors

game 1 20 PTS - game 2 42 PTS- game 3 40 PTS - game 4 30 PTS - game 5 28 PTS

That was the time when the Warriors beat the Celtics in the NBA finals, and you see, it was Luka who had carried his team, but now he has Irving and some effective role players, honestly, I haven't seen Dallas as good as they are now.

And there's another great things for Jason Kidd, if Dallas win, he'll be a champion as a coach too, not just a player.

Not good chemistry. I think they won most of their games because of their strong defense and offensive power. When it comes to brotherhood, the Mavs have the upper side against them. Honestly, that's what made them win their games even in the Wolves' home. They trust each other and they are not blaming them if they shoot it or miss it.
In the last quarter of Game 5, I saw Exum making some stupid decisions dribbling the ball to the inside and almost turning it over, thankfully Kyrie saved the ball. Yet, I didn't see anyone getting mad at him because of what he did. I was mad as a fan when I saw it but the team was just silent about it.

Truly, chemistry will play a big role in this Finals game. The talents are almost identical the height have some difference but overall, when all the stars are defended well, the roleplayers will be the key to winning the series.

It's okay for the Mavs to make mistakes in game 5 since they are up with a good margin, so there's only a little chance for the Wolves to come back and win. For the Wolves, it was the opposite; they are probably frustrated because they are in a do-or-die game since they allowed the Mavericks to beat them three straight times. They also have good chemistry; it's just that the Mavericks were the better team in that game. Either the Wolves were overconfident or they underestimated the Mavericks, which is why they can't easily accept the loss.

I think ANT should humble himself because he is too cocky to beat Irving in a one-on-one game. Remember, he gassed out in the last quarter when he was the one guarding Irving. He asked for it, so he tasted how tough it is.

If I'm not mistaken, there we're videos of Edwards saying that Towns shouldn't  get into foul trouble. I guess that's part of the communication, I mean in Game 4 Towns is committing a lot of useless fouls and they almost blew that game.

Not sure though were KAT will land, it seems that they've just build their chemistry. And I'm assuming that the team will take this experience on a positive note and be back next year and maybe they can get over the hump and go to the finals.
