This is what Damian Lillard said in his interview.

Quote
Unfortunately for the Warriors, Lillard is not interested. "I respect what they've been doing over the last eight, nine years or whatever, and I'm from there, obviously. That's home. But I can't go be a part of that," Lillard said at roughly the 53-minute mark. "They won four championships. What I look like going to try to do that?"

Quote
"I'd never do nothing like that," he continued. "I'd lose every year before I go."

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/damian-lillard-would-rather-lose-every-year-than-play-for-hometown-warriors/

Well, I don't think the Golden State Warriors want him too. So much drama, unlike KD.
And GSW cannot afford another point guard in their roster because their salary cap is already filled by CP3 and Curry, if they ever take him, the luxury tax will be above the roof and I doubt the owner could afford that.
But again, I don't like that he is picking teams. Why is he forcing his way to Miami is a curious thing for me. They have Tyler Herro there as their guard and I don't think they will sacrifice their chess pieces just to get Damian and that may be the reason why this trade won't be completed. Trail Blazers know the value of a guard like Dame so they will want the best of offers as possible.

For now, he should stick with the Trail Blazers and stop doing this kind of shit show because he is just damaging his own reputation. IMO.

Dame is getting lit up on social media today after claiming he wouldn’t do what KD did while he’s literally trying to do the exact same thing KD did. I’m surprised we haven’t heard a response from Kevin Durant yet, but maybe he’s just sitting back and enjoying NBA Twitter (x) roasting a different player for dumb comments for a change.

What? Are you serious right now?

You can't compare Dame to KD, not even close.
KD went from a contender and western finals participant to the best team in the league. He had a team around him that had a future and still chose to go to the team with the best record in history.

Dame on the other hand didn't reach the playoffs back to back, has no contending team and Portland also has no idea what they want to do. Of course he wants out after sticking with this shit show for 11 years.

From somebody who often comments here I wouldn't have expected such a nonsense, seriously.  Roll Eyes

What do you think about this video of Gilbert Arena clowning on Hakeem Olajuwon for charging $50,000 for a training session?

https://x.com/thedunkcentral/status/1704169319171535226

I was a bit surprised because usually NBA players have nothing but good things to say about Hakeem and he’s the guy everyone brings in to teach their up and coming big men. I honestly thought he charged a lot more.

Dude is making a living I can't hate on him for that.  In terms of a person I've heard the same that the dude is legit.  And let's be honest he is on eof the top big the game has ever seen.  His post moves were unguardable. As a knick fan I hated him in 1994 because we had our "no jordan in the league" shot to win and he snatched it lol.  No harm there.
Gilbert Arenas is trying to be cheap. That dude is a hall of famer and that's right he should be charging more but I think that's just decent, and he also considered his age, maybe.
Arenas always has something to say with everything but Hakeem has his proofs on why he should charge more, he should really watch how greatness was made by that player who became a big threat on the painted area because his shots were unblockable.

While $50,000 is a substantial sum of money, considering that Hakeem Olajuwon is a Hall of Famer, he can command a high fee for his training sessions. Moreover, it's not mandatory; those who can afford the training fee can enroll and pay that amount. There's nothing wrong with that, and if Gilbert Arenas wants to create his own training program, he has every right to do so as well for whaterver price he likes to charge.

Trying to keep Harden means that they are going to try to go for the title again this year. Could they do it? There is a possibility, the team is good enough to give it a try and normally I would say that their roster is strong enough to be able to do it.
Well, after all of the exposure of Harden of how he's treated by the management. Still at the end of the day, everything has been made well through talks and agreement. Good for him and also for the Phila but I don't know how long he's going to be there or there will be another series of stint exposure from him. But talking with the roster together with Embid and other key players, they're still one of the good teams to count on.

However, the lack of defense by Harden is a big deal and I feel like it is going to end up costing them a lot of trouble, this is why I feel like it is going to take a while for them to get a ring, they need one more player that would be good at defense and can guard the little guys as well, basically cover the difference Harden creates. Warriors has done it, Curry is not known for his defense, but Klay defended the best players and that allowed Curry to be not abused on defense too much.
They'll just have to do it and let Harden focus on his own strength and be the scoring machine. Speaking of 76ers, are they going to sign McClung or is there a news about him or did they signed him already? because I don't find such.

Sixers really look solid with Harden and of course Joel Embid the reigning MVP and it seems that they have a good chemistry. Even with the playoff series agains the Celtics, they have a good chance to win that.

But I do agree that that Harden's is a liability as far as defense though, and the teams are going to abuse it specially with roll and pick up, to get him to play defense. So the rest will have to do and cover for him in the switch.

It’s a bummer that HBO cancelled Game Time, which was arguably the best show on TV. Many NBA players are asking that Netflix or another service buy the show and keep it going. I hope that happens. It is probably the best basketball show ever made. You can sign a petition below to try and bring it back on air.

I am a basketball fanatic for over 30 years. I love basketball movies, shows and everything related. But for some reason I didn't connect with Winning time. When I first saw the trailer for the 1st season I was really looking forward to it but while watching the show I felt less joy every episode.
Not even sure if I bother watching the 2nd season.
Though the basketball scenes were well shot and well copied, I though the acting in general and the overall feel of the show was kind of weak.  Embarrassed

But that's just my opinion, I know most people loved it. I just didn't feel it.

Speaking of Lebron though, he posted that he is hype about Vando getting back with the Los Angeles Lakers. I think he should be, as they look very solid in this season with the addition of Hayes and C Wood as well in the center position.
I thi k it's great that they have Wood but will he play more minutes here because if he does he's more efficient on it especially when he was in Houston playing. I think the addition of Gabe Vincent was hardly talked but this guy would make their depth more promising, he did well last playoffs.

So there's still one month before the regular season starts. I'm itching already. Who's team do you think has the best advantage next season? I haven't seen the odds yet but I am expecting the Phoenix Suns and the defending champion Denver Nuggets to lead the bookies.

The most curious team I want to see is the Boston Celtics. How do you think they fare next season without Marcus Smart, Grant Williams, etc.? Added to their line-up is the injury-prone Krisptaps Porzingis but I am really hoping he stays healthy next season. After a disappointing last season, this is the time that they need to step up. I still like their lineup and they needed the trades for a change.
I'm a bit bias when it comes to the teams since I'm a Warrior fan, so I'll pick the Warriors on this one. I know that the West is still packed with all-star players, and we saw how the tight the standings last season, but with the Warriors having a better roster right now compare to last season, I believe that they can still get a ring. The core is still there, CP3 is there, the role players are better now compare to last season. They have now the pieces that I guess needed to win a title.

As for the Celtics, their past trades means their defense will decrease significantly. Smart, and Williams are 2 of their best defenders, and they traded both of them to some players like Porzingis. Will they be better now that they changed rosters? Yes "IF", and there's an if there. If Porzingis will be healthy in most of the regular season, and capable of playing in the playoffs without getting injured then there's a chance. The chances of Celtics winning the title will also increase if Jaylen Brown will learn how to dribble using his left hand Cheesy.

Anyways, can't wait for the season to start as well. I would love to see those new acquisitions of different teams, and I can't also wait on how will Harden and Lillard be knowing that they might be playing in their old team.

Yes its good to part ways if both the management and players is not happy. For pushing this guy to remain on their team it will just create locker room toxicity and it can affect the whole chemistry of the team so I don't really get it why Sixers and Hawks choose to retain this players while they are already leave some solid statement that they don't like to play on their current team anymore.  I think this is not all about money or brotherhood anymore since maybe there decision is based on which team can give them a ring and that gives them big pressure knowing that they don't want to end their career without acquiring a ring since this is big achievement for some players.

The team's current actions seem like they're taking chances. They're aware that they're not succeeding in what they're doing, but they haven't opted for the worst possible solution. Trading Harden for players they're not satisfied with would be equivalent to letting him play, perhaps even worse. I'm confident they're simply waiting for the right timing. As of now, with no good offers on the table, it looks like he'll continue to play.

That's how you gonna teach a lesson to those players who think they are above than those owners. Harden will be oblige to play at his best because if he's not playing according to what teams like him to do for sure it can affect his career. His past noises created against his former team cannot help him at this case so maybe he need to dominate and play at highest level so that he can demand on his freeagency and many teams will still gamble to acquire or be part on their team.

Can we expect to hear some boos from the fans? Fans tend to be highly emotional, especially when a player is a star. Even LeBron James faced hatred when he left the Cavaliers for Miami, so one can only imagine the reaction towards a player who has already expressed their intention not to play with the team anymore but is now compelled to do so to avoid legal problems.

Yes, we might hear them as they are emotional, but there are also times where fans appreciate the players just to be fair, but with the
way both Harden and Lillard, not sure if how they will be treated once they parted ways with their current teams.

But if there's no more joy playing with the team, it's best for the player to move and find the place where he thinks he can come out and enjoy playing.

Aside from the money, there's also brotherhood where players continue to stay with the team.

I've got a few on my mind. Denver Nuggets is still on my list but teams like the Golden State Warriors since there's CP3 and the potential of acquiring Dwight Howard as well as the rumor about Giannis wanting to go there. Who knows if the deal about Giannis could happen this season or there could be some special deal or clause that can happen between them and Bucks. Phoenix is also on my list. Actually, it's too early to say because this start is gonna be the intro of it and just like last season, there have been a lot of trades that have happened while the season was on going.

More likely he's in trouble right now because his way of getting out of the team doesn't work anymore and everyone will monitor how he will play for the 76ers despite all of that. I think he really needs to stay professional and continue to positively contribute to the team even though they don't like his decision. If he stays like that forever, he won't last long because he is getting old and there are more younger players who will come to the NBA later that can easily fill his position.
