Yeah, many players have realized this and are now willing to make moves even if they get bashed. Personally, it's better to follow what you want to avoid regrets in the future and stay unaffected by negative remarks. Dame is a very good example of the current superstars that stay loyal to their city and because of that he's probably more loved with minimal bashers than the other superstars. To be fair, Portland tried to make moves in the past but they were not enough and it's also not consistent probably due to limited resources, unlike the other rich teams in the NBA.
Dame is now 33 and he wants to play his remaining years while he is still significant in a team that has a real chance of winning the title. Portland should at least try to ship him to Miami as per his request for his many years of loyalty. Hopefully, a 3 or even more team trades will do this before the start of this season.
Joe Lacob and Peter Guber may have been paying a lot for their luxury tax but the risk they took made it possible for the Warriors to be one of the teams that is almost sold out of tickets every game. And their jerseys and memorabilia are selling at a rate that would make profits for them.
People even say it's a Warriors game even if it will be their opponents homecourt. That's the effect of the risk they took, and they are now reaping the rewards.
