we can not say for sure if Victor Wembanyama will be just like Chet Holmgren I really don't want to speculate something like that but we can not control the situation if a player would be injured for a couple of months then it is likely because they really got injured but we can not say that Victor Wembanyama will be like Holmgrem, that will be unfair with Victor Wembanyama if we already assume like that I say let Wembayama do his thing 1st, before speculating something,

We don't wish for something bad to happen to a player, but considering what we have witnessed in the past, we cannot erase the worries that the same thing could happen again. So, it's best to prepare ourselves for the possibilities and not set high expectations. Sometimes, a player may even exceed our expectations. Personally, I hope Victor Wembanyama will dominate the ROY ranking once the season starts.
Yes, it was really a big disappointment for us basketball fans not to see Chet Holmgren play last season because he suffered a injury and we don't wish that to happen to any rookie, not just the first pick or anyone on the top 5-10.

So there is high expectations from him, hopefully he can come in healthy and then before we can witness if he will live to the hype. Although we have seen him play, NBA is very different though. 82 gruelling games and then the physically, so for me Victor needs at least gain some muscle, perhaps a Giannis like transformation to be able to stay in the league for a very long time.

There's always high expectations when being a first-round pick, but the question remains whether he can live up to those expectations. The NBA is quite different from the leagues he has played in, so we can't say for sure if he will find the NBA easier than his previous league. It reminds me of what Luka said in the past, where he believed it was easier to score in the NBA compared to the league he left to join the NBA.

But still its good to watch how this prospected number one pick will perform since many expect that he can dominate NBA since he is called as generational talent.

He won't be playing as the center, I guess, as that would most likely increase his chances of getting injured. Wemby will be the number 1, and I'm certain that the team, the Spurs, will prioritize his protection. Considering how Coach Pop nurtures his players, I expect Wemby to become one of the greatest players in the NBA in the future given his gift, you know he is a number 1 pick for a reason.

Given his versatility on the court, he is best suited to play as a forward. You can see his stats here: https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/wembavi01.html
Based on what is written as his position, he is listed as a Center/Forward, but I believe he has primarily played in the forward positions in most games.

While his numbers may not be overly impressive, being a talented big man, it's certain that teams will pursue him. That's exactly what happened with the Spurs, who were able to secure the number 1 pick.

He's to skinny so most provably he will be the target on attacks so to avoid becoming the next Zion where he became a injury prone may e at this early stage he need to work with his body strength since in NBA the level of physicality is different and its not all about scoring so maybe he will struggle on defensive end with that.

I think Wemby is going to be a bust. He’s just too tall and too young to have the strength he needs to play in the NBA. I think he’s likely to get injured long before he’s established the type of body he will need to compete in the key. I think he’s going to be bullied pretty badly and get hurt. Likely he won’t see much playing time for a while as a result.

If developed properly, he will be successful in NBA. If Spurs gets him, he will be trained and developed by Pop. He is a great coach, and he has handled a lot of foreign talent. I do not think he will waste the talent of Wemby. I remember Giannis was not that buff when he entered the league. Look at him right now. Wemby can be the same as long as he is dedicated to developing his body and skills. His work ethic is a big factor if he will be successful or not in NBA.

I find Wemby similar to Chet Holmgren. The latter missed all the games last season due to an injury, so I hope the same does not happen to Wemby. With all the hype surrounding him and being the number one pick, he is truly a special player. However, it would be unfortunate if his talent goes to waste due to an injury.

What we are discussing here are only possibilities based on what we have seen in the past.

All we can do now is hope that Wemby will be able to add more muscle, making him more competitive once the season begins.

This could not happen overnight. He can develop the muscles and physique needed to be a successful center but that will take time. It is needed but I hope the team will not rush it. Muscles take time to develop. It might even be the cause of injury if you rush it. He is young and has plenty of time to develop his physique and skills. He might not be a big factor immediately but if developed right, he will be a big factor to Spur's success in the future.

The question is, who would the Warriors acquire to replace Draymond's role? We know that Draymond is not an offensive threat, but he excels in defense and ball facilitation. What would be Curry and Thompson's reaction if Draymond were to leave? Can they still maintain their status as the Splash Brothers without a player who consistently sets screens and assists with ball handling?

However according to the betting odds from: https://www.810thespread.com/news/draymond-greens-potential-landing-spots/

For me, he can shoot in the deep so for me he can be an additional points maker, but because the Warriors already have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and some hard-scoring players on the team I really think that it is a good thing for Draymond Green to focus more on the defensive side of his play, that is why the Warriors will surely consider getting Green again this season and hoping that Green would still want to play for the Golden State Warriors in the next season, but if he's the one decided to leave the Warriors I guess the Lakers could be a potential home for him because he got a good relationship with Lebron James while replacing Green if he's not going with the Warriors next season I really don't see any good replacement at all,

Anyone else getting excited for the NBA draft on Thursday June 22? I always love the NBA draft over most other drafts being that there is only two rounds, so you pretty much know anyone in round 1 or 2 could easily become and NBA star one day.

Lucky for the Spurs getting the number 1 pick.  I don't know much about Victor Wembanyama, but I do know he's hands down the number one prospect since Lebron, which is of course saying something.

That being said, Lebron is the most hyped prospect of all time...is Victor number 2?
Wemby is truly the greatest prospect on this draft and you might also be right that he could be next to Lebron. But we don't know yet what's gonna be the run of his career until we see him play. There is no doubt that the Spurs have secured him already and I'm excited to see who's gonna picked regardless of the no. they'll get and on what round they'll be picked. So after the easy NBA finals that we've watched, this is always the next big thing NBA fans are waiting for.

I think Wemby is going to be a bust. He’s just too tall and too young to have the strength he needs to play in the NBA. I think he’s likely to get injured long before he’s established the type of body he will need to compete in the key. I think he’s going to be bullied pretty badly and get hurt. We never know for sure, he might be one of those players that are born superstar as we know that they are just too rare. But before he can achieve that feat and be one of the most dominant players in the league, he sure needed some experience first because no matter how good he is right now, NBA is just too different from any other leagues in the world plus the players within are just too great too handle as they too have their own talent to showcase.

Media hype him so much so for sure extreme expectation will come out once he officially start his first game on NBA. It will be so bad if he cannot meet up the expectation since for sure he will be slammed by heavy criticism and might fans will call him a bust. For sure Wemby will get affected to much on the attention he get and might he cannot perform very well because for he might get distracted on the attentions he get online or even on the arena.

Oooh, I am excited.
Actually, I already placed my bet for whom will be number 1, 2, and 3.

Sorry it was positioned wrong, the first pick is on the last.  Cheesy

I picked Scoot Henderson at number three because I believe the Charlotte Hornets badly need a bigger man. Brandon Miller might be the key to that.
The Portland Trail Blazers though might actually pick another over Scoot, but if they want to fill their roster with point guards then yes he is the answer or they actually have no choice but to keep him and try to make another deal with another team.

About Victor being the 2nd hype in the first pick, yes. He might be next to Lebron. In position though, Greg Oden is the last big man that I knew who was also hyped in the draft pick. But after him, there are still big men who made the first pick. KAT, AD, and Ayton.
The San Antonio Spurs are really lucky, now they can rebuild and surround him with good roleplayers.

Miller might be the player they need but Scoot Henderson has SO MUCH upside, I think they will take him anyway.
Of course it doesn't make sense since they have Melo and everything but if there wasn't Wemby, Scoot would be the clear frontrunner for the 1st pick, he ist just so talented.

Maybe they draft him and then get him on the market. A lot of teams will be interested in him. Maybe they even trade the pick, who knows. In the NBA anything can happen. A lot of teams are trying to climb up the draft latter so there might be some serious movement around draft picks real soon.

Seriously, are you still considering placing a bet on the first pick odds, which are only 1.01? I believe that may not be profitable unless you wager a significant amount. While it's evident that Wemby is going to be the number 1 pick with such odds, the question remains: is it worth placing a bet?

That would be the worst-case scenario, and I hope it does not happen, as it would create significant problems for his team. They are counting on him to enhance the team's performance in the upcoming season. Although he possesses some talent, he is quite skinny and needs to work on improving his physique.

Both skinny and overweight individuals are more prone to injuries. A good example of an overweight player is Zion, LOL... the guy couldn't even complete a full season.

Celtics will still be up there as one of the favorites. How about taking CP3 in exchange of Smart? I think that will be a good deal for both teams since Wizards will likely let go of him anyway. Celtics will get a real point guard and a veteran at that to finally push this team. Chris Paul should have no problem in this since he'll be in a good team while Tatum and Brown will benefit from his mentorship.
No, no. I don't think so. Marcus Smart is a critical player for the Boston Celtics. I'd rather trade other players than him. They cannot break their trio. Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and him. But they might need a strong forward that would be good at pick and rolls to open them up.
Remember, ever since this trio was made and they just keep on changing their bench, they are always in the playoffs, or better, in the Finals.
It's not CP3 that they need, they have too many ball handlers with Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White. Marcus Smart is not bad at ball handling too, but it is his defense that can outsmart other players. (no pun intended)

News from Adrian Wojnarowski.
Quote
ESPN Sources: As expected, Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma has declined his $13 million player option and become a free agent. Kuzma will be one of the marketplace’s most prominent players. A return to Washington on a new deal remains a possibility.
https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1671223990008807461?s=20

Hmm, Kuzma. Maybe because of his sudden increase in points per game. He can now shoot 21 points average which puts him in the list of players that will be targeted if they need a big shooter. Either he wants a salary increase or he wants to be traded to a championship-caliber team. Their agents are doing a nasty job this year. More money.

I think Draymond declining his player option was a goodbye to the Warriors. I don’t believe they sign him to a long term deal. His tweet about taco Tuesday with LeBron leads me to believe he’ll be signing with the Lakers and with them having the same agent it works out. Not sure if an old Draymond who can’t shoot anymore is what the Lakers need, but we’ll see how good he is without the Warriors system.

That's a strange decision by Green. It looks like he rejected the $27.5 million player option and plans to become an unrestricted free agent. Obviously, he is hoping that the Warriors will offer him a larger or longer-term contract, but I also don't really believe in that outcome because Green is pretty mediocre. Honestly, I don't think the Warriors should try to keep Green by spending a significant portion of the salary cap on him.

Yeah this reminds me of Dennis Schröder betting on himself.

If I was an NBA team I would NEVER pay an ageing DG more than 27 mil a season. He is 33 and averaged 8, 7 and 7 last season. An he thinks he can do better than 27,5 for a season?
No team with cap space will offer him a long term contract with this kind of money.

The only teams with cap space are rebuilding teams at the moment, like the Rockets, Spurs, Pacers, and so on. Maybe OKC is ok but the rest.... . He wants to win and none of these teams are destinations for that.

I also doubt the GSW can afford another huge contract, they already have the highest salary in the league.
