Sources: Raptors to hire Grizzlies assistant Darko Rajakovic as head coach
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/37832256/raptors-hire-grizzlies-assistant-darko-rajakovic-head-coach
Quote
The Toronto Raptors are hiring Memphis Grizzlies assistant Darko Rajakovic as the franchise's next head coach, sources told ESPN on Saturday.
The Raptors offered the job to Rajakovic on Saturday and the sides are finalizing a contract that's expected to be completed soon, sources said.
Rajakovic, a native of Serbia, emerged out of an exhaustive process to sell Raptors president Masai Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster on his candidacy to replace Nick Nurse.
Began coaching at 16 years of age in Serbia. Also became the assistant coach of the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Summer League.
Then as an assistant coach for the OKC Thunder, Phoenix Suns, and Memphis Grizzlies. He also became the assistant coach of the Serbia Men National Team.
We don't know much about Coach Darko yet on how he will make a difference on the Raptors team but they are a young team so he might do some changes while their management is filling the holes to strengthen the team again.
After Kawhi Leonard left, year 2021-2022 is the only time they made it to the playoffs again. I bet they are planning to add more young players to their roster and strengthen whatever pieces are missing to make it a whole again.
With Lowry also gone, Fred Van Vleet will be the core point guard but they may need a wingman for him, a shooting guard to space the floor more often, and give their big men like Siakam and Scottie Barnes some space to attack the paint. Defensively, I think they are already good, but offensively they lack the firepower to be a threat to other teams.

But if not, then that's it and we'll just witness a history that's being made through the Nuggets. Everyone wants to see it go until game 7 not until Nuggets will win the next game or by the 6 but who knows?

But I think this time the Miami Heat will have a hard time coming back. They were already derailed when they lost at home, so I don't think they are as hungry as they were before returning to Denver. Though I would say the series is over, judging from the last 2 games, it's easy to say that the Nuggets have dominated the Miami Heat, especially now that they are playing back at home.

I really want to see the Miami Heat cause some problems for the Nuggets.
I see that many people like that to happen but the reality is making us see on where is this going.

Personally, I would like to see the Miami Heat win this game. Because that is going to make things a lot more interesting. I also want to see the final get decided on the 7th game.
You're not alone on this thought but it's convincing that this is really going with the Nuggets whether we like it or not. And if ever the Heat wins the game then we'd see some more chance for them.

But if not, then that's it and we'll just witness a history that's being made through the Nuggets. Everyone wants to see it go until game 7 not until Nuggets will win the next game or by the 6 but who knows?

In the sportsbook, the Nuggets aren't even in the top 5 in the rankings of the teams to win a title. Most are rooting the Celtics, the Suns, and the Bucks (who has the shortest odds). Nobody talks about the Nuggets even though they've been consistently been the top seeded team in the Western Conference for most of the regular season.

Which sportsbook are you talking about? As far as I know, the Nuggets have always been one of the favorites for the championship. They were the strongest team in the Western Conference. There were many championship candidates from the East, such as the Bucks, Celtics, Sixers, but there were not many candidates from the West. After the trades, the Suns were an ambitious team, but they failed. It was clear when the playoffs began that the Nuggets would reach the finals. Now they are just one win away from the championship. I think this will be over tonight.

I believe he is pertaining on the outright during the regular season. Most of the favorites to win the title are those team that form an all star team like Phila, Suns, Lakers, GSW and Celtics. Nuggets is just appear on the top 5 when they dominate the Western conference. Actually, Many fans are still not convinced and giving them credits for what they attain now since Lakers and GSW are still the most favorites in the west.

Maybe next year, Nuggets will surely the top 1 contender even on regular season to win the championship.

Nuggets is out on scope at that time since  the more hype team on west in season opener is Lakers,GSW,Sun,Mavs and Grizzlies. Nuggets at that time is far to be chosen to take the championship this season and many did not expect that they reach this far knowing to many super team has been built  this season.

But expect the unexpected as the joker and the squad surprise to many people as they finish off to many strong team in west and reach this far. Now they are 1 game away to be declared a champion and create a history in their team.

It is obvious that Denver has the big advantage nobody questions that and maybe Miami will not pull a Cavs and win this series, BUT that doesn't mean that they need to lose the next game. They could still make it 3-2 and then lose 4-2 as well and when you are betting that's all that matters.
I guess it is something that the Nuggets won't let it to happen. I mean the game 5 is the most perfect timing to close the series and celebrate in their home crowd as their first NBA championship. Not in game 6 with Miami's home crowd that would be too boring to celebrate your first championship and definitely not in game 7 as it will be the most difficult situation in their entire playoff run. So, the Nuggets would give it all they have to force and close this series out and win it all. Even the sportsbook recognizes it, point spread is more than 7 points in majority favouring the Nuggets to win.

Maybe because the Nuggets are going to go really hard trying to win the next match which is going to give the Miami Heat a better chance to win. Because I believe mistakes will be made by the Nuggets. And the Miami Heat can actually take advantage of that in my opinion. I believe this is a do or die match for the Miami Heat. Because if they lose this match they are losing the finals.

I really want to see the Miami Heat cause some problems for the Nuggets. Personally, I would like to see the Miami Heat win this game. Because that is going to make things a lot more interesting. I also want to see the final get decided on the 7th game.

Miami Heat - Denver Nuggets is 1-3 and that seems played. It seemed for a while that Miai Heat could cause a sensation when they made Denver 1-1 away, but the past 2 games Denver have managed to win quite easily. How good is Nikola Djokic, perhaps by far the best player in the NBA at the moment. Only there are so many commercial breaks in basketball games, that takes the fun out of having to turn on the TV for 3 hours because of all those breaks. But the level has risen enormously in the NBA. And as for Heat, of course they still have a chance but I think 10% to win in total. Nuggets needs 1 win.

He is definitely the best player and Murray the second best as part of the duo. Although they have been team mates for years, this might be the best season they have as both is hitting their prime years, and I do agree that they are the like of Shaq and Kobe in terms of numbers they are producing.

I don't know if Coach Spo has till something in his cards, it seems to me that he laid down everything and still they can't beat the Nuggets in their homecourt. And then couple of games that they have shot bad percentage, they can't win this series if their shooting woes continues against a very tight and well executed team like Denver. And it's just bad timing for the Heat to lose back to back at home.

Coach Spo already given everything in these series, good plays but the shooters are not that effective.

Even how hard both Bam and Jimmy give here without the lift from the other players inside the court there's nothing left
for them, with how Nuggets dominating them it's not just Murray and Jokic but everyone are moving and finding the place
to help and convert most of the attempts.

Whether we like it or not, many are anticipating that they're going to lose the match tomorrow. But who knows if they'll prolong the series but if ever they lose by tomorrow and Nuggets is proclaimed as the champ then it's acceptable by everyone. We're seeing the reality that even if we want to see a longer series with this finals, I don't think that we'll see that. They even struggled against Celtics when they've got 3-0.

I feel like there weren't all that many people who said Denver would be the champions this year, not zero but not a lot neither so it is still a question mark if they will get the next game but whoever ends up winning the eventual season long bet, that will be a good one. I hope that it goes on until the 7th game to be fair, even if Denver wins it at 7th game and not much changes, it would still be fun to watch that, but unfortunately I can't see that happening this series to be fair.
Many aren't expecting them until the playoffs has came and then they've kicked the Lakers without losing against them. That's why for this finals, it's all being expected by many even not their fans are amazed and understood that they've come along the way and they truly are strong this season.

Making Miami win in Game 5 might make a momentum shift. You don't know what can happen especially if the momentum suddenly shifted from one team to another team. This is the reason why the Nuggets desperately wants to finish the series in 5 games because they're afraid that they might still lose it. I'm not underestimating the Nuggets, but we've seen the Heat getting some road wins, and coming back in the 2nd half especially in the 4th quarter when they are down double digits. Aside from that, they have a very good coach in Coach Spo. As for the Nuggets, they really need to win in Game 5, and finish the series.

Game 7? Nahhh like I said, the Nuggets are afraid of what the Heat can do because they aren't the typical 8th seeded team that we've used to see in the past, and they will not clinch into the NBA Finals if they aren't a good team. They will finish it in 5 games like what I predicted. Smiley

Unless there's a turn of events where Miami snatch the title away from them, which is far, in my personal opinion, from happening.

Jokic will be the finals MVP as all of us witnessed how great he was in all aspects. The numbers state
it all and there's nothing that can steal the title aside from Miami winning the finals, and then again, it was too far
to happen, one more game and it might be the end of this series.
3 games remaining with a result while the Nuggets have a 3 win advantage.
I'm sure the Nuggets will finish the game faster where in game 5 they can have a win so Miami has lost hope of winning.
Nikola Jokic will perform better and it is possible that he will also become MVP in this season.
This would prove to be the strongest in the West region would be victorious.

I think it is already expected that the Miami Heat does have some disadvantage in Game 5 because what happened in the recent games did really put some trauma into their heads as no matter what they have done, they still fail to rally and to survive almost each game in their series. But it's still too early to decide about that mate, the Heat is no that poor in-terms of their performance as they too have managed to have a seat in the Finals, so we will see in the next game what will they do but I do agree that series might have been finished already.
The game gets underway tomorrow and we'll see if they can beat the Nuggets who have been the leaders in the west.
But I'm still not sure that in match 5 Miami will be able to win and increase the chances of becoming a champion because in the previous match they almost lost to the Celtics.
It's just that all of this is still a prediction and not necessarily completely accurate, so we still have to wait for tomorrow's match.

$50 for a Nuggets win and hopefully they can end the serie in this 5th game.

There's only a very small chance that the Miami Heat will come back, but even if they lose in the finals again, they have still done a great job to reach this far. Miami could potentially pull off an upset in game 5, and if they win game 6, then who knows, we might have a thrilling game 7. I understand that it is unlikely to happen, but as they say, the series is not over until the Nuggets have secured 4 wins.

There is very little chance that the game will go back to Miami on Thursday. The Nuggets will not take their chances and let the championship slip away from their home court. They will definitely try to finish the series on Monday night in their home. Some mischance might happen if they let it go to game 6. Once the series reaches game 7, it is anybody's ball game.

I am curious about what will be the adjustments on the side of the Miami Heat. They cannot stop the duo from scoring and outplaying their defense. Will they switch to offensive since they cannot stop the Nuggets anyway and just try to outscore them? The only reason they won game 2 was because they had a good scoring night. Maybe they can do that. Try to limit the duo of Jamal and Nikola but also try to outscore them. Their outside shooters should perform well in order for this to be successful.

I don't care about embid getting mvp this year, jokic is definitely the best player in the NBA today.  He doesn't have a bad game in him.  Because of his iq and willingness to play team ball he is almost unstoppable.  I think Miami has to double him and tighten in given the 3 point shot open and just hope Denver goes cold.  If they play the way they have been playing them it's over.

It is hard to go cold if you have Jokic setting up the play. The cutters are having a picnic against the Miami since they know wherever they are in the court, Jokic will see them and the assist will come. Double-team Jokic and one of the cutters are bound to be open. Miami has to deal with that too aside from Jokic and Jamal scoring.

Agreed but they don't have anyone who can play one on one with jokic.  It's a bad matchup for Miami.  Single him with bam and he will eat that up.  Cody zeller? Not a chance.  If I'm coach for a day I'm making anyone but jokic beat me.  I do agree jokic knows how to play around it but you can't let him have whatever he wants from whereever with him and Murray in the P&R game.

Did you guys heard and saw the boo's McGregor got last night ? Hahah it was hilarious to watch and hear those fans booing him even if I have big respect for McGregor and what he did for sports some years ago.

On NBA , what can I say more ? let Jokic win it man and let him go back to his horses because I really enjoy to see his videos regarding this topic. That man is a treasure outside the basketball game and a ring should be well deserved for him and for Denver as well.

Was that interaction staged or was there a real interaction where McGregor wasn't pleased and decided to punch the mascot? Because the video I saw was somehow too real to believe that he did really punched the mascot so hard even if it was already on the floor.

So, anyway, back to the topic. The next game might be the last as well so there's no need to be hasty about it because as far as we can see it, it definitely looks like that the Miami Heat have nowhere to go anymore as if they cannot make any difference in the next game at all. Might be sad for the fans because the Heat have come up this far but unfortunately, the Denver Nuggets was just too great for them to handle.

If the Denver Nuggets will finish the series next game there will be no doubt they deserve the championship because they work hard to stay at the top in the season games and got the number 1 spot in the western conference until they made it to the finals. Also Jokic need to get that Championship to prove to everyone he didn't need to go to a superteam to get a championship like others.

No need for a superteam as he already has the supporting cast that he needs to win a title.

One more game and they will be crown as 2022-2023 NBA finals champion, it's a great success as if they will complete these series
this coming game 5, it will be the first title in history of Denver franchise, with Jokic and Murray together with everyone else, the fulfillment
is now happening, they missed it in the bubble but with Murray coming back healthy they will now achieve it, hopefully Heat will not
going to spoiled that. Roll Eyes
