I took the 1.89 ML Lakers yesterday, now it's rolling at 1.84 only. I guess a lot of gamblers do agree that the Lakers will snatch another on at Memphis home. This will be bad for the Grizzlies if ever it happens.

Unfortunately, Morant is inactive in tonight's game against the Lakers. However, it looks like the Grizzlies aren't worried about that and aren't going to give up, as they lead by 15 points after the end of the first half. So if the Grizzlies continue at this pace, there's a chance they can beat the Lakers tonight. By the way, the Lakers are performing pretty poorly, especially Davis, who has only made 1 of 9 field goal attempts in the first half.

The Memphis Grizzlies took a double digit lead, but now in the 3rd in seems that the lead is just about 6.

I have the Lakers +6.5 so it's going to be interesting specially down the stretch. Hachimura and Reaves again the focal point of their comeback in the 3rd. 4th will be crucial for both teams, Bane and Brooks on the bench because of foul trouble. I'm expecting the Lebron James carrying the Lakers in the 4th quarter .

We're currently in the fourth quarter, and we'll see if the home team can even the series without Morant. This is a must-win game for them if they want to avoid an early exit. The Lakers are a capable team, so Memphis needs to protect their lead in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
No 2-0 for the Lakers tonight, the Memphis shows their toughness without even Ja Morant on the field. And Tillman and Jackson is beating the Lakers in the offensive rebounds and I think that is the story of this game.

But Lakers missing lots of shots in the outside as compare to their first game here at Memphis.

Still though, they got what they wanted here, to steal at least 1 game and now they are going back to their homecourt and defend it.

Good for them, they deserved the win as they played good defense against the Lakers. It was a low-scoring affair, with both teams' combined score not even reaching 200 points.

Davis was very limited, only scoring 14 points on 4-14 shooting, making this one of the nights where he struggled big time. On the Memphis team, they shared the ball well, and Tillman stepped up as the leading scorer with 22 points.

It's impressive that six players had double-digit production, that's insane. Their ball movement seems to improve without Morant, so it begs the question: are they the better team without Morant?

Draymond not on the floor is not a plus to them.  Not to say they won't win but it very much has to do with how good golden state is at home and how bad they've played on the road.  Their other options covering sarongs isn't going to be any better.  He does more than just what's on the stat sheet.

I think even without Draymond the Warriors will likely win this while they are playing at home, for me now that they got Andrew Wiggins he needs to step up in place of Green for the defense, they also have Gary Payton II that can likely be a great defensive play for the Warriors aswell, but because Mike Brown was the assistant coach for the Warriors back until 2016, he is pretty much familiar with the Golden State Warriors game play, so they surely got some counters for some players,

Big part has been missing if Green is out on the rooster knowing that he is the anchor of defense in GSW line up. Payton and Wiggins should step up on this situation since they need to get win in their home to change the momentum of this series. Although Coach Brown know about how GSW set their plays but for sure GSW coaching staff knows how to counter this and preparing for more intense game on game 3 which it will be played at their home.

Too much money coming in on the Lakers.  Vegas never loses, I'm taking the home town Grizzlies here.  With or without Ja I'm taking them.  Ja playing will just be a bonus.  I'm still not convinced the Lakers can keep this up.  I could be wrong.  But betting on a home team as a pickem in the playoffs can never be a bad bet.

Risky bet. The odds of Anthony Davis getting injured or LeBron James getting frustrated are probably higher than most people think though, so you’ve got a shot. If AD and LeBron are playing 35+ minutes though I don’t think the Grizzlies have a chance. We’ll see. The more interesting matchup for me tonight is the Timberwolves and Nuggets.

The Nuggets will probably lock the AntMan again. He only scored 18 points at Game 1 and he is shooting at 6/15 field goals. Rudy Gobert was also ineffective and only scored 8 points unlike how dominant he is against the Thunder in the play-in. Their key to winning here is how fast they can kick the ball to an open man. Edwards will be doubled most of the time, someone must step up his game if they badly want to steal a win against the number 1 in the West.

The Bucks vs Heat game is also interesting. No Herro for the Heat and no Giannis for the Bucks. A good handicap for the Miami Heat with Butler dominating. I think they should put Bobby Portis in front of him to stop his perimeter shots and Lopez must stay higher as Bam is not someone to be left in perimeters too.

I guess it's Game 6 now, hehe. I just love the Clippers at the moment. Leonard has been unstoppable, and I like that he is the main anchor of the offense because he is more effective that way. Westbrook is a good complement for Leonard, as he also plays good defense. Even without PG, this team will give a headache to the Phoenix Suns.

Remember that Booker is inconsistent in the playoffs, so let's see if he can still play like he did in Game 2.

Well, it was really a close game for these two teams, and without Paul George with the Clippers it is up to Kawhi Leonard to rise up to the occasion Eric Gordon or Russell Westbrook will need to make their game up a notch so Kawhi Leonard will have some help with the score and to spread the score, and right now with the 1-1 tied score I think next game will be a little bit close on their odds, but it will depend on who's playing home for these two teams, but for sure the Los Angeles Clippers doesn't need to play at home to win,

I agree with the wolves being a good game think this one should be a lot closer.  Rarely do you get a shot to bet on a home team pickem in the playoffs.  And they still win at a respectable rate without ja.  Desperation type play always becomes a factor 2.  They don't want to go back to LA down 2. It's gonna take a couple people to step up.  Tyus has to have a great game tonight.

^^ Yeah, same with the Grizzlies game, it was very close until Ja Morant went out and it changes the game for them. Of course, we will give credit to the Lakers for taking the game 1 at Memphis, Hachimura can't missed on the 3 point line.

And then what can we say? Reaves is quiet the first two quarters even missing a easy shot in the first quarter which he usually make. But in the 4th he takes over the game and the Lakers fan love him.

So there are two upsets tonight, Lakers over Memphis and then the Heat taking advantage of Giannis winning this one.

Yes, even if the Los Angeles Lakers had a much easier way in the fourth quarter because of Ja Morant's hand injury, we can't discredit Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura's presence in the court because they were a vital key and the main reasons why the Lakers owned the 1st game vs the Memphis Grizzlies. Well, AD and LeBron was good as expected but the key players was the highlight in this game.

That makes 3 upsets, Lakers defeated Grizzlies, Heat defeating the Bucks, and there are the Clippers who defeated the Suns as well.

And with that, it seems that the Memphis Grizzlies are not ruling out Ja Morant's playing in game 2. I wouldn't say that  this is a must win for them, but they don't want to dig a deeper hole against Lebron and the Lakers going into their homecourt with a 2-0 lead against them. So if there is by chance then Morant will have to show up in this game. It seems that every playoff though he got injured himself and so we are not seeing the full potential of his Memphis Grizzlies although they are not complete because 2 of their players are sideline already.

Even before the Lakers won game 1, I already thought that the Lakers are just too much for the young Memphis team. Now, they have proven that they are the better team, and with the situation of Morant, the Lakers could potentially have an edge. Even if Memphis wins game 2, and the Lakers win games 3 and 4, Memphis will still be in a big hole as only a few teams have come back from a 3-1 deficit.

It can happen that way or the young Memphis will use this as a good inspiration to win the game. Morant-less can be a good advantage for the Lakers, as the main gunner / scorer really affects the offense of their opponents.

Time for everyone to step up and provide numbers to cover what they'll possibly missed while Morant
is still in question if he will play in game 2.

They definitely wouldn't let this chance slide and take advantage of the Grizzlies situation while their big man is still out, Steven Adams, so does Clarke and of course with Morant's absence, it will definitely affect the team's confidence as their star player is needed in both offense and defense especially against a team with more experience like the Lakers.

The Memphis Grizzlies will be in a tough position and defending the Lakers will be a challenge for them, anyway, I'm looking forward on how will they play this game without some of their cores on the hardwood. Still an interesting game to see though.

I’m still seeing the Grizzlies as the odds favorite right now to win. Maybe an opportunity to bet the Lakers I guess. I’m wondering how final all the players reports are for the odds to still favor Memphis. It seems like at this point the Lakers should be the favorites. Maybe somebody knows something. I haven’t been keeping up with the basketball news today so it just seemed odd to me.

I was about to say the Grizzlies being favored is INSANE, but then I saw that Ja is a game-time decision.  I thought that he was pronounced out a day or two ago, but I guess not.  I agree, there is no question in my mind that the Lakers should be favored right now, even if Ja plays, clearly he's banged up and the Lakers have been rolling, the heck are they favored (ESPN has it at even).  I'm placing a bet on the Lake Show right now.

Edit: well...this sucks

And now the Warriors are down 0-2 and Draymond Green is suspended in the next game. So might be very difficult to overcome that as he is one of the leaders for this team and then don't want to be down 0-3. The good news is that the series shifts to their home court is Chase center and we all know that they have a good record in their.

Their big 3 will have to step up, they have the championship DNA in Curry, Thompson and Poole and Wiggins.

They just have to work double hard in this series as the Kings is very different now with Sabonis and Fox leading them.
To be honest with everyone and I know that I will be mocked for saying this but I never truly believed that Draymond was a helper at this point. Sure back in the day he was amazing guy, he was the glue guy, everyone else scored easily anyway so he defended and passed very well and that was a great thing, we all remember him getting a triple double without points, that is as Draymond Green as it gets.

However, that's not him anymore, he is becoming more and more a liability than asset, and I feel like him missing these games could actually help them out more than it hurts them. Plus, it is just one game right? If they can't win a single game without him, maybe they should not get a win anyway, that would be very sad for them.

So, yes, we do have 3 games later. I might as well go with the Milwaukee Bucks with -7 handicap because I know the team will definitely bounce back especially with Giannis on the floor, he might have got a bad night on their 1st game because of what happened to him but this time will be different as long as there won't be some unexpected turn of events.

On the Miami Heat's side, Lowry is questionable while as we all know, Tyler Herro is out and he is expected to miss four to six weeks.

And then we have the Lakers vs Grizzlies and Nuggets vs Wolves match-up, this will be fun. I'll be with the favorites today except for the Grizzlies because in that match-up, I'm leaning towards the underdogs, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Yeah with Giannis around that handicap can be covered, I know that it was an unexpected lost in game 1 because of that bad fall from Giannis
but now that he's back and with the entire squad, I'm sure they will take this game at home.

With Nuggets I also agree that Wolves will have a tough game against the number 1 seeder, but with regard to Lakers and Memphis not sure
how these two teams will play,

Both are unpredictable, maybe Lakers will take their experienced as the advantage here.

Winding down.
April 19, 2023, 12:18:09 PM
Therefore, my bet is on the Suns -7.5 and Cavaliers -5.5.

I got a win! It was easy for the Cavaliers, but the Suns game was a little thrilling because they didn't control the game in the early quarters. Luckily, Booker continued his great performance, and they won and covered the spread. Sometimes, when the bet seems difficult, it's the easiest one.
Cheers for you! Phoenix Suns won although I have seen the Clippers gave them a difficult time to claim it. The 1st half was nerve racking as the Clippers reached a 13 point lead. That's where I saw how the Suns can play better than Game 1. Defense will always be the key. This is the playoffs, every possession will be important and now I have seen them being careful with the ball. Let CP3 do the handles and when KD was doubled, find an open man.
Love the game they showed today. Now the question, will they bring the momentum to LA? One game was snatched from their home, it's their chance to get it back.
I trust that they will win to even the series, so I might as well bet on them covering the spread, and that's it. Maybe I will also bet on the teams tomorrow that lost in the first game. Bucks and Memphis will be my bets, maybe as a two-team parlay as well.

By the way, Draymond Green is suspended in game 3, but the spread only moved by 1 point, so I think it signals that the Warriors will still win the game.

The Lakers are full of confidence now ever since Westbrook was traded. They seem to have found the best roster that could win a championship. If they win here despite being in a lower ranking, I believe they still have a shot against the winner of the GSW and Kings series.

Game 2 is very important for Memphis. If we believe they have a chance to win the series, then they should win Game 2 as it's a must-win for them.

As long as they have LeBron and Anthony Davis they have a shot at a title. The question is if they can stay healthy. They’re two of the most dominant players in the NBA when healthy but LeBron is an old man and Anthony Davis is made of glass. Still though, there is a chance they stay healthy and win it all. Their playoff path is probably as easy as they get.

~the Scott Foster curse has been broken. Pretty funny that the story of the night isn’t the Suns beating the Clippers but Chris Paul beating Scott Foster. One thing I will say is that Russell Westbrook had a hell of a game. It’s amazing how much different he looks after going from the Lakers to the Clippers. Happy for him.
I'm still happy that the CPC has ended already. After this game, I call CP3 "CPC" which means "Chris Paul Curse" Cheesy.

Another one is that, the Suns can't afford to go down 0-2, and then play 2 games on the road. That would demoralize the whole team if that happens, and include the fact that it would be shameful for them to go down 0-2 where they are being considered as a super-team right now. What they need now is to win 1 game on the road, and they're good to go again. Westbrook's performance is worth noting here as well, and he played very well in both games TBH.

Ever since after the trade deadline, the Lakers are one of the top defensive teams already, so yes trading Westbrook is beneficial for them, and TBH, both LA teams are happy with it. Clippers got Westbrook which is playing very well in the last 2 playoff games, and at the same time, the Lakers are even better ever since they traded him because it opened to so many role players that is a big help for them.

The morale of the team right now is high knowing that they stole Game 1. I just don't know if Morant can play in Game 2, but if he will not play then at least they still have Tyus Jones which is one of the best back-up point guards right now in the league. Now if the Grizzlies will lose again in Game 2, my dream match will not happen anymore which is the Grizzlies-Warriors in the 2nd round.  Cry Cry Grin
