It can happen that way or the young Memphis will use this as a good inspiration to win the game. Morant-less can be a good advantage for the Lakers, as the main gunner / scorer really affects the offense of their opponents.

Time for everyone to step up and provide numbers to cover what they'll possibly missed while Morant
is still in question if he will play in game 2.

The Lakers are full of confidence now ever since Westbrook was traded. They seem to have found the best roster that could win a championship. If they win here despite being in a lower ranking, I believe they still have a shot against the winner of the GSW and Kings series.

Game 2 is very important for Memphis. If we believe they have a chance to win the series, then they should win Game 2 as it's a must-win for them.

^^ Yeah, same with the Grizzlies game, it was very close until Ja Morant went out and it changes the game for them. Of course, we will give credit to the Lakers for taking the game 1 at Memphis, Hachimura can't missed on the 3 point line.

And then what can we say? Reaves is quiet the first two quarters even missing a easy shot in the first quarter which he usually make. But in the 4th he takes over the game and the Lakers fan love him.

So there are two upsets tonight, Lakers over Memphis and then the Heat taking advantage of Giannis winning this one.

Yes, even if the Los Angeles Lakers had a much easier way in the fourth quarter because of Ja Morant's hand injury, we can't discredit Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura's presence in the court because they were a vital key and the main reasons why the Lakers owned the 1st game vs the Memphis Grizzlies. Well, AD and LeBron was good as expected but the key players was the highlight in this game.

That makes 3 upsets, Lakers defeated Grizzlies, Heat defeating the Bucks, and there are the Clippers who defeated the Suns as well.

And with that, it seems that the Memphis Grizzlies are not ruling out Ja Morant's playing in game 2. I wouldn't say that  this is a must win for them, but they don't want to dig a deeper hole against Lebron and the Lakers going into their homecourt with a 2-0 lead against them. So if there is by chance then Morant will have to show up in this game. It seems that every playoff though he got injured himself and so we are not seeing the full potential of his Memphis Grizzlies although they are not complete because 2 of their players are sideline already.

Even before the Lakers won game 1, I already thought that the Lakers are just too much for the young Memphis team. Now, they have proven that they are the better team, and with the situation of Morant, the Lakers could potentially have an edge. Even if Memphis wins game 2, and the Lakers win games 3 and 4, Memphis will still be in a big hole as only a few teams have come back from a 3-1 deficit.

Yes, but it's not enough to help the Clippers with the game even if Westbrook did do a good job tonight. And that curse has been broken too, so it could be a good sign that the Suns might win this series? Lol.
They played good defense in the second half and not allow the Clippers to made a comeback. It was Booker and Durant, probably becoming the most dangerous 1-2 team mates in this playoff.

This is how the playoff games should be when both teams are good they will exchange win all over again up to game 7. If the Clippers will win the next game, there will be a high chance that we will see a game 7 in this playoff series. So far they are the teams that will gonna be tense and will not easily get to round two of the NBA playoffs. the other bouts that already won 2 straight games are already found their rhythms and might gonna easily sweep their opponent quickly and head to round two waiting for their next opponents.

I guess it's Game 6 now, hehe. I just love the Clippers at the moment. Leonard has been unstoppable, and I like that he is the main anchor of the offense because he is more effective that way. Westbrook is a good complement for Leonard, as he also plays good defense. Even without PG, this team will give a headache to the Phoenix Suns.

Remember that Booker is inconsistent in the playoffs, so let's see if he can still play like he did in Game 2.

Yup, the Scott Foster curse has been broken. Pretty funny that the story of the night isn’t the Suns beating the Clippers but Chris Paul beating Scott Foster.
Finally. I guess that should end all the rumors about Scott Foster preventing CP3 to win a playoff game. There is really no proof behind it that he is doing it on purpose, all are just created by the fans and I think CP3 was just hurt when he said bad things.
One thing I will say is that Russell Westbrook had a hell of a game. It’s amazing how much different he looks after going from the Lakers to the Clippers. Happy for him.
He is phenomenal. I love his defense with Devin Booker and I like how is composed today. We know Booker, he talks a lot and he even said "You can't stop me." but it didn't go to the head of WB and he just keeps on playing better defense.
I like this WB today, he is playing with a purpose. There will be mistakes, it's given, but with all he contributed to the Clippers that can patch things up.
Kawhi Leonard is also a monster. He is shooting everywhere. 11/20 FG 3/5 long-range shots, and 3 steals. We cannot ask more from him, it will be his teammates that need to step up their game. Fewer turnovers, more defensive stops, and always be ready for kick-out passes. From the way it looks the Suns will keep on playing him with a double team.

The game is very close though, if Wiggins just hit that corner 3, the complexion of the game could have been different as the Warriors will have the lead by that time. But let's give credit to the Kings, Monk and Fox combine for 71 big points for them. Monk started hot and then Fox takes over in the 3rd quarter and he is the one who get them into the game after trailing the Warriors. So this series is going to be tight, but the Warriors are still very much in the game, as you can see in the post game interview, Curry looks relax.
Yeah, but I like to see Steph Curry hitting that last shot. I don't doubt Wiggins but this is the 2nd crucial time where Curry didn't receive the ball for the last crucial shot. He did with the 2.9 seconds but that's not enough room for him to have a clear shot.
It's all good though, it's just the 1st game of the series. I bet the Warriors will be back stronger and would have some time to change their strategies as they now know how the Kings will attack.
Defend Monk, Fox, and Sabonis. That is all they have to be focused on.
Whoever is defending the rest of the Kings like Barnes and Lyles must be also aggressive at disabling them to score in any way possible. The deep roster of the Warriors today may have drowned Steve Kerr as I see him rotating his players without thinking ahead.

And now the Warriors are down 0-2 and Draymond Green is suspended in the next game. So might be very difficult to overcome that as he is one of the leaders for this team and then don't want to be down 0-3. The good news is that the series shifts to their home court is Chase center and we all know that they have a good record in their.

Their big 3 will have to step up, they have the championship DNA in Curry, Thompson and Poole and Wiggins.

They just have to work double hard in this series as the Kings is very different now with Sabonis and Fox leading them.

I hope Morant is okay with the Game 1 loss.

He said he's fine in the West, LOL. However, what will happen if the Lakers sweep Memphis? I think there's a possibility, as the Lakers have an advantage over Memphis with their bigs who can dominate the paint. Meanwhile, Memphis mostly relies on Morant, and I'm sure the Lakers have found a strategy to limit him.

What do you think will be the outcome of Game 2?
Yes, it's a big possibility if only Ja Morant is not going to play in this series. So hopefully he can come back in the next game. So it's going to be a game decision for the Memphis management to allow him to play and not go on 0-2 against the Lakers and then going in their home court next.

For the Phoenix, it was really a good win, they control the second half and it's enough for them to tie the series.
Booker is unstoppable, left or right he can score and that jumpshot is flawless. Playoff Durant showing his form too and then Paul had that crucial jumpshot on top with 3 minutes to stop the rally of Clippers.

Chris Paul has lost his last 14 games when Scott Foster was the referee. Will tonight be the night he breaks that streak? With the Suns down 0-1 in the series, they certainly need it. As ridiculous as Scott Foster’s hate for Chris Paul is, I’m not sure I’d go against it. I’m honestly not sure how Scott Foster still has a job at this point…
And it seems that the jinx of Scott Foster against Chris Paul is over as the Suns is leading the Clippers in the last 5 minutes of the game. Unless something ugly happens wherein Kahwi and Westbrook made a huge comeback and the Suns Booker and Durant can't score.

So let's see, very interesting to see this stats being broken now by Chris Paul.

Next games, I also think that both Memphis and Bucks will also try to equal the series ....

Ja Morant injury update: Grizzlies star dealing with soft tissue bruise, will be game-time decision vs. Lakers

I hope he'll play though and his wrist is okay, he cannot be not 100% in this game as his team really needs him. If he'll not perform his usual stats, then I guess the prediction that they will be swift will likely become possible.

Yes, Phoenix, make it sure that they will tie the series before flying to LA. It will be a tough series if Clippers will take another game on the road. Good catch for those who take the handicap as Suns covered it.
Definitely. It's good for the Clippers that they stole one on the road, as they don't have home court advantage. Additionally, Westbrook has turned himself into an MVP in this series so far; his stats are really impressive. I think the Clippers don't need Paul George, as they could beat the Suns.

Next games, I also think that both Memphis and Bucks will also try to equal the series as both need to stay away
from 0 to 2 deficit the way it was now for the defending champs. But I still believe that even Green is out Warriors
will find a way to win the game at home.
The Bucks will likely win, but I'm a bit concerned about how Memphis will stop the bigs of the Lakers.

Therefore, my bet is on the Suns -7.5 and Cavaliers -5.5.

I got a win! It was easy for the Cavaliers, but the Suns game was a little thrilling because they didn't control the game in the early quarters. Luckily, Booker continued his great performance, and they won and covered the spread. Sometimes, when the bet seems difficult, it's the easiest one.
Cheers for you! Phoenix Suns won although I have seen the Clippers gave them a difficult time to claim it. The 1st half was nerve racking as the Clippers reached a 13 point lead. That's where I saw how the Suns can play better than Game 1. Defense will always be the key. This is the playoffs, every possession will be important and now I have seen them being careful with the ball. Let CP3 do the handles and when KD was doubled, find an open man.
Love the game they showed today. Now the question, will they bring the momentum to LA? One game was snatched from their home, it's their chance to get it back.
I trust that they will win to even the series, so I might as well bet on them covering the spread, and that's it. Maybe I will also bet on the teams tomorrow that lost in the first game. Bucks and Memphis will be my bets, maybe as a two-team parlay as well.

By the way, Draymond Green is suspended in game 3, but the spread only moved by 1 point, so I think it signals that the Warriors will still win the game.

2 good picks, congratulations.

First day with 4 games where all the home teams won, it's about time.
When Phoenix was down by 13 in the 2nd quarter I thought "here wo go again" but sadly they closed the gap quick and had a tie at halftime.
After that it was pretty much all Phoenix and the Clippers never made it a close game again. Was hoping to see KD go down 0:2 after the home games  Grin .

The Cavs responded well after their loss in game one, even with Mitchell just scoring 17 points. Let's see how they will do on the road. The Knicks were just 23:18 this season at home, so there is a good chance to steal at least 1 game back. I mean, obviously they have to get one back because coming back from a 1:3 deficit is historically as good as impossible. 13 come backs in 270 1:3 situations, that's a rough statistic.
