Couple of upsets tonight:

Bucks losing to Philly, ending their winning streak. Joel Embiid put a sensational defense on Giannis in the fourth quarter and then together with Harden, outscored them in the final quarter, 48-31.
The Bucks were only -5. They are favored, but Philly is such a good team that the game could go either way. It's time for Philly to bounce back, and for the Bucks, I'm sure they can start their win streak again. However, it's important to see some reality check that the Bucks are not indispensable.

Sacramento losing to the Wolves - very close game between the two, but Anthony Edwards and former Utah Mike Conley seal the win for them Wolves.
I can see that the main reason here is the fatigue factor. They have been playing lots of games in the past few days, and their bodies have probably given up already. I believe that the majority of the bettors are still betting on them for this game, so the smart money goes to the Wolves.

I just saw the news about Ja Morant. Big contract, big endorsements, rising NBA career and he ends up doing silly things like this. I think he needs a good mentor before anything else.

Two game night on TV and the first one was fine, the second one is even better. Raptors won against Wizards in overtime with VanVleet and Trent Jr.. Wizards couldn't play overtime well, experience won here. Now watching Sixers vs. Bucks, head-to-head game but I expect Bucks to win and carry their streak to 17 games.
Very bad news for Grizzlies.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/03/01/ja-morant-punch-teen-laser/
Well, he already released an apology statement on social media so I guess the suspension will be the punishment but he might have another problem when it comes to the law outside the NBA.
It sucks to see this kind of news, they should always keep in mind that they are superstars now, kids are idolizing them and even go as far as copying their moves. This is not a good action from him. Yes, he needs some help and he admitted it, he should also remember that although he is a star now, that should not go way over his head.

About the Grizzlies, I think they survived even without Ja in the early season.
There was another player Gilbert Arenas years ago who was suspended for a year over bringing a gun to the lockerroom.

https://www.thenationalnews.com/sport/arenas-suspended-after-bringing-guns-to-locker-room-1.531845

IMO the 2 situations are not the same, but I still expect the commissioner will likely step in and possibly issue a longer suspension or a very stern warning to Morant and the rest of the league over guns.
Yeah, I remember that. And it's still being brought up whenever a dispute happens between two players inside the locker room or away from the camera. I think it had gone viral after the Green punching Poole incident too.  Cheesy
One of the big reasons why Arenas had a hard time looking for another team in the NBA after that incident. He was suspended for 50 games after bringing the guns into the locker room and I think he only spent 2 more seasons and then he was gone. Wasted opportunity. He played for Shanghai Sharks afterward and said he was making a lot of money there.

Ja Morant on the other hand if he escapes this, should think about getting cleaner for the rest of his career.

The Phoenix Suns are now officially a very scary team after the game against Chicago and they just boost their chances to win the Finals this year. Devin Booker seems like he's getting back to his old self with Durant on their team as he now have more spaces to make shots. Just like what I've said before, It is impossible to double team Durant, Booker, CP3, and Ayton all at the same play.
I may not be rooting for them to win the championship, but I cant deny the fact how strong this team is. Does Chris Paul finally get his first ring this year? Let's see about that lol.

It's probably the effect of getting Durant, Booker suddenly becomes a monster scorer, I mean that is what is to be expected of him and they almost got a trophy if not for Giannis and the Bucks.

But with the acquisition of Durant, they are now a real threat in the West. Perhaps the Nuggets and the Grizzlies will be their worst nightmare. But then again, if Durant keeps healthy all throughout, they are a very difficult to beat with him and the emergence of Booker. Plus they still good one of the best point guard in CP3 and man in the middle Ayton.

Booker now has a higher chance of scoring more because the defense will not be fully focused on him. Unlike before, where he would easily get doubled if he got hot, they cannot do that now because doubling Booker would leave Durant open, who is a high percentage shooter. It's always good to have two great shooters on a team, as it's hard to predict who will make a shot, especially if their chemistry is very effective.

Durant > Irving
Durant > Booker

Both superstar pairing worked.

Very deadly, and if Suns will maximize the use of KD the same way GSW did before, it would be a very different team in the west, with the way they've given KD space and with how KD creating that same space for Booker, It's really a tough job to stop them.

I like how CP3 playing the game is still one of the best PG. His vision makes a lot of different game play
a big difference to predict who's going to attack and make the basket.

What an ugly game between the Clippers and the Kings, Sacramento took a double digit lead by the Clippers comes back and take a 1 point lead. Then Sabonis sinking FT to take back and then Paul George missing the 3 in the last seconds that could have give them the W.

So still winless for the Clippers since acquiring Westbrook although he had a good game again as a Clipper and he was dare to shoot a 3 and made 1.

Clippers now down to 8th spot, as the Wolves won over the Lakers tonight, surpassing them.

I was cheering for Sacramento Kings in this game. I was a bit nervous when Paul George became hot in the remaining last minute of the game. Luckily, he was not able to convert his last shot that would have ended the Clippers' losing streak. Westbrook performed well although his lack of 3-point shooting ability will cost part of their offense. 16 more games for the Clippers before the end of the regular season. This is probably the best time to bet during the regular games, especially on the remaining teams that are fighting for their playoff spots.

And now the Kings are on a 5-win streak and are getting near to 2nd seeded Memphis Grizzlies.

So I guess we all wanted the Kings to win, unfortunately for bettors they didn't cover that spread. And it must be the hate on Westbrook to go still on a winless run with Clippers.

Bucks vs the Sixers could be an interesting one, the number 1 and number 3 seed right now in the East. Giannis against Embid.

The Bucks though might extend their winning streak at this game will be on their home court.

Ja Morant, on the verge of making his deal official with Powerade and launching a major PR blitz is on Instagram live posing with guns like he’s some sort of street thug. I’m starting to get the feeling that this Ja Morant story is going to end badly. He’s too small and too sheltered to be acting like this. I worry he’s going to run into real trouble with this act.

Bleacher Report is now saying that the Grizzlies have suspended Ja Morant for the next two games over what happened on his Instagram Live. I guess he was at a night club when he was displaying his gun, which I don’t believe was legal. It will be interesting to see if he’s going to get some consequences from Powerade as a result of this.

Edit: Looks like his IG and Twitter accounts are now both suspended.

And he won't be playing in the next two games,

Quote
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant will not play in at least the next two games after his Instagram Live video, in which he displayed what appeared to be a gun while at a nightclub early Saturday morning, prompted an investigation from the NBA.

The Grizzlies announced Saturday afternoon that Morant "will be away from the team for at least the next two games," meaning he will not play Sunday against the LA Clippers or Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/35782987/nba-investigating-ja-morant-displays-gun-instagram-video

This kid needs help, first the "laser incident", and then Ja Morant Accused Of Beating Up, Pointing Gun at 17-Year-Old.

Shannon Sharpe is right, he is no gangsta, the NBA should take this seriously before everything went out of control.

They are scary. The only thing that could stop them to make the finals and win a championship is their health. If KD and CP3 will remain healthy for the rest of the season, they have a very high chance of winning it all. Hopefully they do because I do want to see CP3 win a ring before his playing days are over.

But it's evident enough that Westbrook improved and did well enough to help the team keep afloat but they still failed because PG didn't make it as that was their only chance to break their lose streak or should I say curse? Their next match-up is again against a team who is that easy to defeat, it's the #2 seed in the West, Grizzlies. It will be a big challenge for them again.

Then they would extend their losing streak by 1 more game at least even though I feel like the Clippers have a higher chance to beat the Grizzlies than the teams they faced after Westbrook's acquisition. If they do lose, they will drop again in the ranks. That will not look very good for Westbrook's resume come next season. And with 16 games left, I feel it will be hard for WB to redeem his name.

What's going on with this guy? Should just focus on his game than pulling this kind of stuff. He still have a lot to prove.

Such progress in just one year is impressive, and it should be noted that it has been possible not only thanks to the efforts of the players but also the efforts of Mike Brown, who has been recently named the Western Conference Coach of the Month.

Actually, that's not a 1-year progress in the making for Sacramento Kings. The progress overall takes place over a decade. Smiley

The last time the Sacramento Kings established a winning percentage of over .500 is way back 2005-06 season and that's also the last time they make it to the playoffs. Just do the Math on how long they are not making the playoffs from 2006-07 until now. Although this season, that will be changed.

Sacramento Kings will surely be able to break the curse now and their home crowd will witness again the NBA playoffs.

It's fun when Sacramento is in the playoffs.  Back in the day with Peja, Bobby, etc when they were challenging the top the were fun to watch.  The crowd playoff crowds there were amazing.  Helped that they had Jason Williams who is still one of my favorite players to watch, never knew what that dude was gonna do.  Good mix of streetcars in his game.  Either way I will be rooting them to go far this year.  Tired of seeing the same old teams in it year in and year out.

Those were the days bro, Kings vs Lakers, hehehe who will forget it, early 2000's there is that rivalry. CWebb, Divac, Peja, JWill and then later on, Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie and Mike Bibby. Unfortunately they have to go against the Lakers in that era and then San Antonio, so it's very hard for them to win that championship.

Anyhow, this is the new Sacramento Kings, it's a revival and getting Sabonis and Fox healthier than ever, improved his jump shots what the best thing that they can make out of this season right now.

Gilbert Arenas' career was over because of such an issue. The situation there was more crazy, of course, there was threatening his teammate with a gun. But Morant is no different from this disgusting act. He threatens a kid with a gun, it's not enough, he makes gestures of joy by shooting at the match, yesterday he made an Instagram broadcast with a gun in his hand. He's a complete mess. Even if he is the most talented player in the world, for me, these moves are a direct cause of hate. I wouldn't be sad right now if his career was over. He is at the utmost top level of an immensely popular sport. He should not do such things. Period. They gave a penalty for two matches, it's not enough in my opinion.

Knicks.....straight.....stunting on the nba.....talk about it.

Bulls…straight…..not stunting on the nba…let’s not talk about it lol

Nah I’ll bitch a little. At this point with them playing like such shit all season, and obviously clearly not having any legitimate shot at making any sort of run in the playoffs, it’s time to maybe trade some pieces and start losing. Would be amazing to someone pull another situation like we did with Derrick Rose and luck out in getting the number 1 pick again (would be something with the Bears and Bulls getting it).

They have the pieces to be good they just need to put it together.  If there is any year to get the number #1 pick it's the year.  Victor W is the real deal.  I usually don't like picking bigs early in the draft because they get injured a lot but I'd be all over Victor at the 1.  He is a franchise chasing pick.

That is if they are that luck to land Victor Wembanyama on their franchise or some are already calling him as the prodigy of the NBA's modern era. Lots of speculations already about this kid and people are curious to know what would he be like when after 5 years since the draft. Will he be like Durant's build or Giannis's build?

Anyway, I also honestly do not know what is happening right now to the bulls because their line-up is not that bad but they just can't really figure out their rhythm, that is why they tend to lose every other game they have.

Don't forget Chris Webber, Doug Christie (the defense specialist), Vlade Divac, etc.

After their main and core players during that time went slowly inactive from being competitive, the Sacramento Kings have never seen again in playoffs competition for long. I don't know if some of their players during their prime days experienced being a champion later on but I only remember Peja Stojakovic winning a chip when Dallas Mavericks won a title in the 2010-2011 season.

Same as you, I also like new teams in the playoffs and hopefully Kings will go far and not just be competitive in the season games.

The Kings are such a surprise, but they are not a championship team yet. Their defense is not that impressive, but I'm happy that they will be in the playoffs so they can experience playing with teams that have been consistent in the playoffs. For a young team, getting a home court advantage is a good thing as they lack experience.

Of course, the Kings aren't a championship team yet, but they have good potential to be. They're currently in 3rd place in the Western Conference standings, and I think that's a very good result for them, given that they finished the last regular season in 12th place.
