What a great game in Philly!
Jayson Tatum made the last shot before the time expires and won the game. Joel Embiid lacked a little bit more time for the last prayer to be counted.
I was shocked it went in and I even thought he did make it before the buzzer sounded but as the referee checked, it's a "no basket". It could've been better if it went to overtime.
I really missed that words from Mike Breen. "Puts up a three... BANG!!!!!!" at the final seconds of the game
. The last time I've heard is was in Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Celtics and the Warriors last season.
Yeah, almost sounded like a championship game.
When he is the one doing the commentating, it's always fun to watch and listen to the game.
Like you, I was shocked on the sequence of events especially on the final minute of the game. Sixers got a double digit lead on the 3rd quarter then the Celtics made a huge run on the same quarter and got a double digit lead in the 4th then the Sixers made a run as well. On that last shot of Embiid, even him knows it already that it doesn't count even though the fans are kind of shocked and happy. What a thriller game indeed.
If that Embiid's shot counted, that would be better than Lowry's half court shot against the Heat back a few years to put it into overtime.
Anyway, just good game for both teams.
He went to the dugout directly after the shot, he knew.
It must be devastating for him, just one more second given will absolutely be enough to make that shot. And he also dribbled the ball one time so that's another second wasted.
Here is Embiid's comment about the shot.

Well, NBA also has highlights for this kind of thing. The "What If's".
Jokic, Porter Jr, and Murray only played for 25-26 minutes. They just shut down Jokic and Murray completely on this one. On the other hand, the record is still on for Jokic because the Nuggets are still 22-0 when Jokic has a triple-double.
To be precise, Tillman shut down Jokic. Not giving him the opportunity to set his feet, not giving any window to pass the ball, or if he does, it will be a forced pass unlike his usual which is an automatic assist.
Good game by the Grizzlies there too. That is how they will defeat them if ever they will meet in the playoffs. Don't let them heat up, try to stop every shooter from creating their rhythm and they will definitely win.
