Lakers vs Dallas turns out to be crazy, Lakers down 27 points in this game, but they are in control of the 4th quarter, with James and Davis leading the way, but the Mavs keeps fighting back and so it's a back and forth game.

It will be the biggest comeback and no team has made it when down 27 points or more.

So let's see if James can pull this one out again in history for him.

Aside for LeBron and AD being the front man as usual, but the player of the game for tonight was no other than Jared Vanderbilt. His defensive presence changed the momentum of the game in the 2nd half as he gave all his effort to shut down Luka. Those 4 steals was a game changer, all his effort tonight paid off as the Laker as a team step up big in the 4th quarter.

I'm not sure if that was the biggest deficit for a team to comeback, but I don't think it was. Nevertheless, we've just witnessed another epic game after the 2 OT with the Clips and Kings last night.

A big achievement this season for the Los Angeles Lakers is being made with that comeback win. According to the current season record, teams are 0-138 this season when trailing by 27+ points. Not just because of Lebron but Anthony Davis and their best role players and teammates do a great job.

However, that achievement will surely much make sense to celebrate if they will keep establishing more wins as they badly need it to even make it to the play-in tournament which is for now, still need a tough work to make it happened.

Is this in general or just only on the Lakers' game history?

As far as I remember and following Dallas Mavericks for a long since then, they already blew a 30-point lead against Toronto Raptors before and that was big news as that was really embarrassing. Not sure about the exact year but that was during the season when Kristap Porzingis is still on the team and that was from 2019-2022.

Going back on that ongoing game between Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers seems that the Lakers will get the win. Damn what a choke happened to the Mavericks after that comfortable 27-point big lead in the 1st half. Sigh.

EDIT: Nice big bucket for the Mavericks and down now by only a 1-point lead. The Mavericks are still alive with 5 secs remaining.
EDIT 2: Final Score: Mavericks 108 Lakers 111

The eastern conference is getting a breather with the loss of KD. I don't think Brooklyn can sustain its ranking and will soon get replaced by the other teams. In the west though, it is getting tighter. Phoenix, the Lakers, and the Mavs are getting reinforced.

I really believe that KD, Booker, Ayton, and CP3 can establish great chemistry. They are now the deadliest shooting team and are a real force to be reckoned with if they stay healthy. I am so excited to see these top teams playing against each other in the playoffs. And how the underdogs Sacramento Kings perform in the playoffs.
I'll be honest... I confess that I'm looking forward to seeing the Suns team completely "overhauled" along with Kevin Durant.
Sometimes I keep imagining that this time the Suns will be able to have their dreamed first league title.

Well, if not this time I believe that soon they may have a good chance of being champions, well, I don't know, but I'm looking forward to it happening (or not happening...)

What a great game in Philly!
Jayson Tatum made the last shot before the time expires and won the game. Joel Embiid lacked a little bit more time for the last prayer to be counted.
I was shocked it went in and I even thought he did make it before the buzzer sounded but as the referee checked, it's a "no basket". It could've been better if it went to overtime.  Cheesy

That was a crazy game. It feels like it was a Conference Finals preview. I like how both teams play this season. Philly played strong until last period but when things get more serious Celtics showed they are more experienced and better generally. That ending was also great. Tatum played one of his worst games but still hit that buzzer beater. If Embiid was faster in the last ball we could've seen overtime. Nobody expected that shot to go in. I'm very excited about play-offs especially in the Eastern Conference this year.

Atlanta Hawks - Brooklyn Nets

I'm watching this game on stake.com and it's being a very balanced game, with the Hawks having a little advantage, at this rate the Hawks can win this game by a small difference in points, and the nets need to stay focused and calm and avoid making mistakes, every time they are only 2 points apart or even with the same points as the Hawks they start to make mistakes and the Hawks manage to stay in a 5 point advantage, it has been like this in every game and I am not seeing changes, so I see the Hawks winning this game but for a small difference in points, I'm waiting for the odds to increase so I can take the risk of betting on the Hawks to win the game

It's gonna be a close game, but I will also agree with you that the Hawks has a good chance to win this game on their homecourt.

2 minutes to go and they are leading by 4, but to increased the odds though, the Nets will have to comeback and tie or even take the lead for that odds swing. The good thing with the Nets right now is that it has balance scoring, from Bridges, to Dinwiddie to Cam Thomas to Cam Johnson.

New set of players that brings more from the Durant trade.

Edit: Trae Young with a difficult buzzer beater, Spencer behind him and almost block the shot.

I am also thinking that he'll be able to assure the other new teammates from the Clippers that he'll also be adjusting quickly from them.
The Clippers will take him because they know that he'll be even be there to help them up maintain their position currently in the stats.

Russell Westbrook really knows how to adjust to a new team. It's just that the Lakers system is not fit with him even after playing for the team for a season and a half, especially when being handled by Darvin Ham who is terrible at doing playmaking strategy and poor rotation of the Lakers role players.

Westbrook critics think that no team in the league right now still wants his service but they are all wrong.

If utilized properly by the Clippers, Westbrook will be a good help to the team.

Westbrook will be fine.  The Lakers team the way it was constructed before the trade deadline was not going to win anything.  The bench was terrible and really nothing for russ to work with.  Clippers team is much more suited to his game then the Lakers were.  Slashing works well in the Clippers offense which is his bread and butter.  I expect a chip on his shoulder type playoff from him this year.

The Bucks didn't have Giannis as he was out for a coach's decision.  They still managed to win a heartbreaker by 3 points though.  Durant didn't make his debut which was to be expected.  Crazy to think that these two teams could be meeting in the Finals with two major superstars thrown into the mix.  Booker could've shot better (1-5 from 3 point range) and Paul could've been more efficient from the field (7-18).  Ayton looked good though.  He's continuing to get more touches and improve as a player.  I hope we see him take it up a notch in the postseason like he did in their last Finals run.

I know as a knick fan I probably look at the team a little skewd.  But I feel like they can make a push in the playoffs.  They own the second best record on the road in the entire nba.  They can sneak a game or 2 on the road (if they make it) and could possibly win a series.  They would need to avoid the 7/8 slot as that will probably end up matched against the Bucks or Celtics.

They play the Celtics at home Monday night a good team check to see how they match up.  They are sitting with 3 first round picks this year as well.  Future finally is looking up for the Knicks I think.

Thoughts?  Or am I just being a Homer fan

Wire to wire blowout win against the Pelicans.  Knicks are now a half game out of 5th and shoukd take that over from the Nets soon.   With only 20 games to go I don't think they could press for 3rd.  7 games out of 3rd with 20 to go is long.  Big game tomorrow night at home vs Celtics.  Good measuring stick at this point in the year.

Yeah, we shall see, they are on a 5 game winning streak and pretty much made it to the playoffs already with Brunson on the lead. But it might be hard to go through Celtics though, Boston is a complete team, they have Tatum who become one of the favorite players now in the NBA with also his line of Jordan shoes like Ja Morant and Zion. If they win against the Celtics it could be a moral boosting them, if not they go back to the drawing boards and see where it went wrong against the best team in the East.

Wow! I didn't watch the Kings vs Clippers game, second highest scoring game in NBA history, definitely worths watching it full and not just some highlights. I got bored a bit at the start because the start wasn't as entertaining and knowing the result in the end definitely takes away from it a bit as well but people who watched it live must be very happy, definitely worths the money.

Also, by the end Clippers couldn't find a shot and that always comes down to the coach, if the coach draws a good one, then they will end up getting a good shot, look at the history of Spurs and you will see how amazing Pop could draw plays, or Kerr, or any of the other great Head Coaches.

So give credit to the Memphis team for their good defense, not just on Murray but held Jokic as well to 15 points and just 3 assist.

This is just one game though for the Nuggets, they are the top team in the West, they can surely bounce back.

This is good for them because they might gonna be the last 2 teams remaining in the Western Conference and with this game, they just had some idea of how they will gonna beat the Denver Nuggets again. It's not easy to get through the other teams as well but with their game performance nowadays and their playoff experience these past years, they might be able to get through the Western Conference finals and try the NBA finals game for the first time I guess. I really wanted to see them going to the NBA finals because they are all young and might gonna be against the Boston Celtics in the Bucks will be failed to climb back again.

Too early for that, but it's possible with the talents and that good chemistry with those young stars, hoping to see them established
like the Warriors and not like OKC way back with KD, WB and Harden.

They've got all the positions covered. I mean, all role players can support Ja' both defense and offense they capable of competing.

Let see if they can proceed as there are many obstacles before they can reach the semis and the finals.

90 minutes until the Suns take on the Bucks on ABC/ESPN3. It sounds like the Suns aren’t going to play Durant until Wednesday but you gotta have the game ready to watch just in case he does get on the floor. I think if Durant plays then the Suns win, if he doesn’t then the Bucks win. Although Giannis might still be a bit sore from his injury so the Suns have a chance either way.

I really missed that words from Mike Breen. "Puts up a three... BANG!!!!!!" at the final seconds of the game Cheesy. The last time I've heard is was in Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Celtics and the Warriors last season.
Yeah, almost sounded like a championship game.  Cheesy
When he is the one doing the commentating, it's always fun to watch and listen to the game.
Like you, I was shocked on the sequence of events especially on the final minute of the game. Sixers got a double digit lead on the 3rd quarter then the Celtics made a huge run on the same quarter and got a double digit lead in the 4th then the Sixers made a run as well. On that last shot of Embiid, even him knows it already that it doesn't count even though the fans are kind of shocked and happy. What a thriller game indeed. Cheesy

If that Embiid's shot counted, that would be better than Lowry's half court shot against the Heat back a few years to put it into overtime. Cheesy Anyway, just good game for both teams.
He went to the dugout directly after the shot, he knew.
It must be devastating for him, just one more second given will absolutely be enough to make that shot. And he also dribbled the ball one time so that's another second wasted.
Here is Embiid's comment about the shot.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4F8fLrD7fw
"Unfortunately, story of my life."  Cheesy
Well, NBA also has highlights for this kind of thing. The "What If's".
Jokic, Porter Jr, and Murray only played for 25-26 minutes. They just shut down Jokic and Murray completely on this one. On the other hand, the record is still on for Jokic because the Nuggets are still 22-0 when Jokic has a triple-double.
To be precise, Tillman shut down Jokic. Not giving him the opportunity to set his feet, not giving any window to pass the ball, or if he does, it will be a forced pass unlike his usual which is an automatic assist.
Good game by the Grizzlies there too. That is how they will defeat them if ever they will meet in the playoffs. Don't let them heat up, try to stop every shooter from creating their rhythm and they will definitely win.

Denver Nuggets lost in a blowout at Memphis. Looks like the long rest affected them and they cannot find their outside shots. 0/4 3-pts for KCP which is rare considering he is 45 percent on downtown shots.
Jamal Murray also not doing well with 3/13 FG.
Tillman defended Jokic pretty well which will stop the offensive plays of the Nuggets, good work for him stepping up his game while Adams is out.
No, this is their second game already after the All-Star break. Their first game was against the Cavaliers on the road, and they won that game.

Let us not overreact. Memphis is not a bad team, so it's no surprise that they won via a dominant performance. They can even dominate on the road, so how much more when they are at home. This team is good, but it's not as consistent as the Denver Nuggets, so let's give them credit for their performance in this game. They deserve it.

It's just a bad night for the Nuggets and they were not able to bounce back after the first quarter. Interesting numbers is that they average 31 points in the first quarter alone, but against Memphis, they just scored 20.

So give credit to the Memphis team for their good defense, not just on Murray but held Jokic as well to 15 points and just 3 assist.

That's right, Memphis should focus on improving their game instead of bragging and trash talking. The playoffs are a different ball game and they need to make sure they are prepared for it. If they continue to play with inconsistency, they may not even make it past the first round, so they need to stay focused and work hard to become a strong team that can compete with the best in the league.
