In addition, other players may take the initiative, giving themselves a shot at the record as well. Whoever accepts the challenge will be fascinating to watch. I predict that many celebrities will attend the game since it promises to be so spectacular. I'm very excited!
I think Luka is next to that, or Embiid, or Giannis, these young players are putting points in their stat sheets like it is a normal day in the office.  Cheesy
The key for this to happen again or break Lebron's (after he did it) record is the health issue. He is known to be a player that is not lazy to play the game, he loves it so much that an absence might not complete his day.
Luka had his share of injuries, Embiid worst, Giannis though, with that kind of body and toughness, I bet he can make it to the top too as long as he doesn't retire early and find ways to still play the game even at an old age. Lebron did it, I think he can too although it requires being a flexible player. Luka on the other hand plays like Jason Kidd (better) even if he becomes a veteran there will be a big market for him.

Hard for me to believe that Lakers won in OT last night. Without LeBron and AD , lakers are really a total different team that can't even fight for playoffs but with them in the court , everything changes for Lakers.

Also , with this W from last night , their chances to catch playoffs are once again in their hands but still , if AD or Lebron will miss some games due to injuries , I'm afraid Lakers dream of catching playoffs will be crushed.

They need this win, actually they are leading in the last couple of minutes. But the Knicks were able to make a comeback but unfortunately, Randle didn't became a hero, missed that shot completely and then Lebron working on the OT and not let this game slip away from him.

Sad for Bulls too , as my team simply doesn't have the same chemistry between players like they had last year and I think it's all to LaVine as even last night he had a poor performance.

Unfortunately, the Bulls chemistry are a bit off right now, it's hard to pinpoint where are the issues, Lavine and DeRozan are not working together. It's only Vucevic who have been playing consistent in the last games average double double. But the rest are very awful and not jiving, something has to change from the lineup.

Lebron and AD did play that's why they won the game. Hopefully no one of them will get injured, their coaching staff are just managing their minutes, and give them some rest especially on a back to back game that's why we didn't see Lebron and AD played against the Nets.

They really need this win and some wins in their next games because they are really left behind and they blurring their chance to get their playoff spot due to the result of their games this season. If they don't want to jeopardize their chance, they need to be healthy and continue winning games no matter who will be their opponent is and as we can see in the last game against Boston Celtics, they are really capable of beating them if only not to the cause of blindness of the ref and they were really doing double works because of their rank's situation and they really wanted to gamble in the NBA playoff since they're one of the superteams in the NBA if not only for the injuries.

Still, plenty of games, if they can't make it to the top 6, I'm sure they'll make it to the play-in tournament, and when that happened as long as Davis is healthy, I believe the Lakers have a decent chance of getting to the playoffs. Look at the Warriors and Clippers now, they are behind in standing before but they are already now in the top 5 and top 4 respectively, it's because of the close competition in the West.

Yeah, but Davis is still very fragile, there are some scary moments when you see him limping after a rebound. So still very dangerous for Lakers if he will be injured again or later when they are trying to make a playoff/playin position.

Obviously Lebron is not going to slow down, on the contrary you can see that he has someone got his second wind. It's probably he is excited to break the all time record of Jabbar. I think he already carved his name as one of the greatest Lakers if he did that. With Kareem, Shaq, Kobe, Magic and him at that Mt. Rushmore of Lakers great.

Let's make a fun poll, we haven't changed it for a while.

When will LeBron pass Kareem?

Feb. 4: at New Orleans Pelicans
Feb. 7: vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Feb. 9: vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Feb. 11: at Golden State Warriors
Feb. 13: at Portland Trail Blazers

https://www.nba.com/news/lebron-james-scoring-tracker
Yeah, that will be fun. Very nice, OP.
I vote for the Bucks in LA and we are winning the poll.  Cheesy As long as Lebron could keep that kind of performance like today or maybe more then we will reach it at that game. Other predictions will win if unforeseen injuries will happen but they would not like that as it will be against the Warriors in San Francisco.
I mean, it's better to be done at their home although I know Warriors fans will also appreciate him and it will be as loud as it will be in LA.
Man, I am excited to see this happen. A breaking record that had not been done for so long. We had so many offensive players that passed, MJ, Iverson, Kobe, Dirk and yet they didn't reach that amount. I am sure there will be many stars present on that day with the possibility to break it, just like when Steph did it in New York.
I share your enthusiasm about LeBron's ability to set a new NBA scoring record. This is a major development and a major victory for him. Having it happen in Los Angeles would be fantastic, but I'm sure the Warriors' faithful would cheer for him no matter where the game was played.

I agree that there have been other excellent offensive players before LeBron, but that he is still able to compete at the highest level and set new marks is a credit to his brilliance and longevity. If he does break the mark, it will unquestionably be a watershed moment for the NBA.

In addition, other players may take the initiative, giving themselves a shot at the record as well. Whoever accepts the challenge will be fascinating to watch. I predict that many celebrities will attend the game since it promises to be so spectacular. I'm very excited!

Crazy ending to that Lakers game. LeBron got another chance to get a game winner but this time he passed the ball to Anthony Davis who then committed an offensive foul which ended up with the game going to overtime. They still won and LeBron moved a little closer to the record. Westbrook seemed to get a lot of crunch time minutes as well.
That was a lucky break for the Knicks, it's just that their last play was not planned well, I think it should be Brunson who should take the last shot as he is hot in that game, for sure if he missed it, he might get a foul. I don't understand why it was Randle who took the last shot.
Randle, as I observed him, he wanted to be the go-to guy of the team. I also consider that it should be Brunson to take that last
shot as he got a much better percentage, and he's not new in carrying a team.
Remember when Luka was out during the semis against the Sun's this man really help the team to win games and not to allow
Suns to take advantage of them.
But nothing that can be changed now, good to see that Lakers wins might be another controversial missed call.

The Lakers played well as a team. At a point, I actually thought that it might go south for Lakers. But in the end, everything was all right. LeBron James and Anthony Davis played well. Lakers have been through a bad form recently. And it was good to see that Lakers have won this game. They have not been consistent at all. Hopefully, this will be the time when they start being consistent. Five wins in the last 10 are probably not up to the standards that Lakers set for themselves.

I disagree with that because Bulls were able to play competitive basketball against the Clippers, it was a close game and they could win that game if they made a perfect execution in the last minutes of the game.

When Brunson was still with the Dallas Mavericks, it was Randle who is the go to guy, unfortunately he is not a clutch player that's why they struggle in the playoffs. I think it's always the coach decision that has to be followed, the fact that he took the last shot, the design of play was probably on him.

But nothing that can be changed now, good to see that Lakers wins might be another controversial missed call.

I believe it was not a missed call, it's an offensive foul by the Davis, was challenge and the challenge was unsuccessful.

Just wild to think that seats during the Thunders game costs around $75k and I guess for the Bucks too and I think that's where LeBron will make a history passing Kareem. Just few more scores for LeBron for him to pass that greatness but it's still crazy to think that he is passing a guy that only made 1 goal at a three point line.

I went with the Bucks.  I think it makes a lot of sense for LeBron to pass Kareem at home and on TV.  That game will be at Staples Center and it will also be televised on TNT so you can believe it will be a spectacle on TV.  It also gives LeBron enough padding to where he can make it so he easily is able to score enough points so that it can be well planned for all the festivities.  I think the earlier games would mean LeBron has to keep performing at a crazy level, which judging from him taking last night off, I don't think he wants to do for this record.  So keep February 9th free to watch TNT, because that's when I say he breaks it.  Smiley
I also voted for the Bucks, he might be short of shy of some points against OKC so the next game will be the obvious against the Milwaukee at Crypto.com (sorry Og, it's no longer Staples Center).

Regarding the ticket price, are there NBA ticket scalpers as well? or that is the ticket price and not the resell?

Of course, everyone wanted to witnessed history and this ticket sellers are taking advantage of it.

I guess it will depend on how many points he will score against the Knicks which is live already.

He didn't play on their last game against the Nets because of an injury so maybe there's a chance that we might not see him playing in the next games. Well, if he will play and will not sit down, my best choice is against Thunder or against the Bucks. Lebron averaged more than 30 PPG on his last 5 games so just basing on that, you will have a guess on when he will surpass Kareem's scoring record.

In contrast, I want Lebron to surpass Kareem's record at the Chase Center against the Warriors. I don't have any reason, but I just want to see Lebron surpassing Kareem's record in front of my favorite team's fans. Cheesy

Probably against OKC or the Bucks, both of those games are home game so that where it is being projected. And speaking of it, the tickets sales have increased, like it's in a bull run,  Grin  Ticket Prices Surging as James Closes in on Abdul-Jabbar Record

Quote
Per data provided to Front Office Sports from Vivid Seats, tickets to the Lakers’ home game on Feb. 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder — the first game where James is projected to eclipse the 38,387-point plateau — are selling for $952 on average.
