Jayson Tatum seemed destined to win one, but it was looking pretty grim for a while there in the East. I’m glad they were able to jump at their chance with Embiid and Giannis injured. Glad Tatum got himself a Finals MVP also, but I think Jalen Brown probably deserved it. After game 1 it was looking like Porzingis was the difference maker.
I'm happy for him to see that he finally got a ring. I'm eyeing for Luka to have his first but then, they fell short and this isn't the time for him to have one. Well, while watching the awarding ceremony, I was expecting Tatum to win the finals MVP but it's still Jaylen Brown that has got it. He's got the conference finals MVP and then the NBA finals MVP, what a player. After analyzing the games that they've got, I guess that Brown deserves to have that because of how he impacted all of the finals games of the Boston Celtics.

I am very happy as well for both Tatum and Brown. I am not a big Celtics' fan but I like the duo and followed them since their entrance in the league and watched them developed thru the years. I was optimistic that they will finally get a ring one day. Kicking out some players especially the very vocal and somehow arrogant ones were great moves by the management in order for Tatum and Brown to assume leaderships without much pressure.

Anyways, Brown was leading against Tatum in the race for the MVP. I think Brown had 2 player of the game while Tatum only got 1.

A sad day for the Mavs fans as Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving did not play well tonight. 3 point shots are not sinking in, only Josh Green is the one who made some good numbers on distance shots.
Well, it had been their problem for most of the series and I think they need more chemistry to be a better team. Luka must also try to put more effort on the defensive end. As long as he stays like that, he will always be a target for the opposing team.

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics and their fans. That was one heck of a game from the star duo and Jaylen Brown received the Finals MVP. It could be argued but I think the numbers are a bit higher for JB.

Now we rest.
Summer League is up next and the Drafts.

Not for them, I guess both stars understand the team's lapses and hopefully they'll find ways or the management will find the ways to fill it up, they've got the leaders who can take the 1-2 punch but not enough role players to stand up if needed to carry some loads if they continue that same system other teams will just allow Luka scores but in the otherside they will kill his defense then win the game, it's more on playing 2-ways he's still young and there are many more improvements after this final's lost.

Congrats to Boston they finally win back the title after thier own big 3's version last won it, FMVP for JB no argue about it as he really provides numbers from their previous games, he deserves the title.

It was Brown who won the MVP finals award, not Tatum. However, I think that award should have gone to Tatum. After all, if we compare the stats of these two guys in the finals series, Tatum was a little more productive and useful than Brown. Honestly, it isn't clear what exactly the organizers were guided by when choosing the MVP of the finals.

Yeah I just looked at the overall numbers and Tatum was in front in every categorie. Over the span of 5 games he had more points, more rebounds and more assists. I didn't look at the shooting splits though.

Even in the close out game Tatum was actually a lot better than Brown, so I don't really understand why they would give him the trophy and not Tatum.
But it is what it is, Boston definitely deserved this one big time. Funny how some people on your tried to talk them down after game 4 and many even predicted Dallas would come back to win the series. Well Boston proved them wrong from the first minute in game 5, and I am glad they did.

How about this look for the aftermath of hitting his face on the floor for Derrick White? I guess winning a championship might make it worth the sacrifice. I’m sure Charles Barkley would trade a tooth for a ring. That’s a nasty look. I’m sure he’ll have it all fixed up in the next week though. Hopefully in time for any parade.

Yeah this is awkwardly been highlight after the game and for sure White still get overwhelmed for what achievement they got then think that he can fix his teeth after their finals celebration. For sure not only Barkley would trade a tooth for championship since there's a lot of stars still ringless and provably they can also do the same just to get a ring.

He have lot of resources to use so maybe he will fix it immediate since its really awkward for having those tooth while celebrating.

Celtics is so amazing and they deserve all the achievements they got include Jaylen Brown for getting the FMVP.

I thought he lost a tooth, but thankfully it's still there. At least it's still attached and can easily be fixed. White has been a big factor in that success. His defense and three-point shooting were very accurate. Without him and Jrue Holiday, the Celtics would never be a championship team. Now that they have finally achieved what they have been longing for for years, the haters have nothing bad to say against them. Brown and Tatum are sure to dominate for a while, but winning back-to-back championships is a different story. Let's see.

Geez… I didn’t see the celebration afterwards and I saw an early report that Tatum won, which was nonsense. Brown clearly deserved it in my opinion in spite of Tatum padding some stats, so I’m glad I just saw some misinformation (which I corrected now). I wonder if this will create a rift between Tatum and Brown next year since it seems like Tatum wants to be the guy.

As far as I know, it will be voted as who will be the finals MVP. In any case, they panel thinks that Brown deserves it so be it. After all, he just sign a huge contract with Boston and for sure winning the finals MVP could have incentivized him even more. What's important is that they have claim the NBA trophy for this year and they didn't disappoint their fans as they are the top team in the regular season.

Now it's how they are going to defend the title, there are a lot of teams that will go after them and put up a line up that can match them. And I don't think there will be much of a changes for them next season, everyone did a great job from management to coaching staff.

There you go, finally, Tatum got his first ring, as well as Porzingis, Brown, Horford, White, etc. The problem with Dallas is they don't have as many players or options as Boston that could be lethal. They only have Luka and Irving; the others aren't as effective compared to the players of Boston.
I've seen the happiness on their faces after the game. Al Horford has waited for this for his entire career and I think that when he's ready to retire, he'd surely do it as that ring is probably what he's been waiting for.

Now, I wonder, what if Boston faced the Wolves or the Nuggets? Maybe it would have been a different story. Anyway, congrats to the Celtics.
It might have been a different story but what's your guess? I guess if it's Nuggets, they won't have these easy sweep from them and won't end the finals with 5 games.

It's gonna be a long story but then, Celtics proved themselves to be the best this season.

Klay Thompson might be the biggest catch as he already shows intention to test the free market agency, also another big name is Donovan Mitchell.
The news about him that he's signing for the Bahamas national team, I don't know if that's going to be allowed if he's already played for the Team USA before. There's still a lot of time for him to do what he's gotta do and I guess that he's just do it for his purpose before he finally retires as he's got a lot of rings already.

It's official, the Celtics are the champs for the 2023-2024 season. Dominated the Mavericks the whole way and won the championship in front of their home crowd. Congrat's on the win!!!

Yes, finally, post-era of Pierce, KG and Rondo and Ray Allen, now we have, Tatum and Brown to lead the Celtics and the missing pieces the unicorn and Drew Holiday (thanks to Bucks for letting him go just to get Dame time). Dallas has no answer whatsoever to the offense of Celtics in Game 5. The sad part is that it's going to be months again, that we will have to wait before the next season begins. And for sure we will see some big movements already. Klay Thompson might be the biggest catch as he already shows intention to test the free market agency, also another big name is Donovan Mitchell. Anyway, congratulations to the Celtics for winning another NBA championship and another will be hang in the Boston Garden.

They have, they wouldn't reach the West finals if they don't have players that have caliber. But the problem here is that the Celtics were able to take away that, Lively and Gafford, there we no alley-oop passes to them, PJ Washington's 3 point was missing here in this series.

While the Celtics has defensive stoppers and then have the best duo Tatum and Brown to take the load of the scoring and they do played good defensively that's why Luka had a hard time in either against them if they are guarded. So congrats to Boston, that question is, will we see a new era and dynasty for the Celtics?

I'm surprised no one is talking about who will gonna win the NBA Finals MVP. it's obvious that Celtics will close the series tonight but no one knows between Tatum and Jalen Green gonna win the MVP finals. But if you ask me who will the win the Finals MVP, for me I think it's Jayson Tatum because of what his doing right now (game 5). If Tatum wins the Finals MVP I also win in contest in our Local Board (Pilipinas). 🤣

The hell Jalen Brown wins the Finals MVP
Just for context, Jayson Tatum is the first player in NBA history who leads the team in Points, Rebounds and Assists in the whole NBA Finals series, won the NBA title, but didn't won the Finals MVP. He literally got robbed that's for sure. As for the contest, unfortunately, you didn't win. There's always be a next time anyways.  Wink

Anyway, I guess the first 2 games of Tatum in the NBA Finals also affected his place in the Finals MVP race. Tatum might have better performance on the final 3 games, but Brown has been a consistent scorer for the team the whole time hence, that might be one reason as to why he won the Finals MVP. I'm not a hater of Brown, but I don't like him because he doesn't know how to dribble on his left hand. He got that very huge contract, and now he got a title + a Finals MVP on his career. Definitely worth a respect from me. Smiley

Well, congratulations to the Celtics. The regular season is over, the playoffs are over, but the DRAMA around the league isn't over and it will not be over until it's over. Tongue

And there you have it. There's the real game of the Celtics. Some insisted that game 4 was a legit Dallas victory. Well, there's another game to refute that. Every Celtic can dribble, drive, and carry that ball to the basket and make some scores. As to the Mavericks, well, there are only two. The rest can only wait for that pass from afar and make that shot.

The TD Garden deserves this. The Celtics fans deserve a championship victory right in front of them. That has long been elusive. It's long overdue.
