Yes, Joel still need James Harden if they want to advance into the NBA finals as he can't single handedly carry the Sixers. It's good that Maxey has really shown improvement at a young age, and Harris should also help and be consistent as well and not choke. For sure there will be a lot battle between Giannis and Joel in the future, and maybe they will face each other in the playoffs.

Maxey will be a vital piece in their run for the championship. Hopefully, his injury earlier is not a major injury. They are starting to have a winning streak but alas, they are starting to have injuries again. Hopefully, Harden will be back soon so they can continue to win.

For sure there will be a lot battle between Giannis and Joel in the future, and maybe they will face each other in the playoffs.

If they continue to win and their starting players start to be healthy, then they will probably face either the Celtics or the Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals. A healthy Bucks and Celtics are the top teams in the east right now. Giannis and Jayson Tatum are in their prime right now and they are heavily carrying their respective teams. So, if the Sixers want to go to the NBA Finals, they will probably have to go through one or both of these teams depending on the rank they will finish.

Quite a close game. Holiday is playing that makes the playing field even. Tyrese Maxey is injured but the game is still close. The sixers are on top by  5 points as this is writing with 2 minutes left in the game. This could still go anyway but the Sixers have the momentum. Joel Embiid is a monster right now, picking up the slack that Maxey and Harden have left because of their absence.

Edit: Philadelphia Sixers won 110 -102

It was really a close game, and the bucks started strong but before that Giannis was blocked by Embiid, but yeah Joel Embiid has done it again, getting those needed plays for the team now that James Harden was absent due to injury, but the Bucks surely has many injuries that cut their progress in making a good team play,

It's always interesting to watch matches when players like Embiid and Giannis compete against each other. Embiid's performance was really great, especially in the second half. Moreover, he was close to making a triple-double, and that's what allowed him to surpass Giannis this time. As for that Embiid's block shot, it looked powerful, and I'd even say it was the most memorable moment of the match.

We need that kind of Embiid in the playoffs so they can advance to the NBA Finals. His performance was really great as despite not having James Harden in that game, they still manage to beat a powerhouse team like the Bucks.  Maxey has to be consistent with his great contribution while Harden is still out.

I guess no Lebron, no problem for the Lakers.  Tongue

Yes, but it's against a low team, but as we have said, a win is a win, so Lakers getting a big W.

Just a bit off-topic but still related I guess, it's all about Dwight Howard. I've watched his first game on T1 League and I've seen the crowd, it's big although too far big, and smaller compared to NBA as usual. But the warm welcome of the fans there is absolutely amazing. The game was close against the DEA, and it got an OT. He's got their win, got a double-double and the fans are really happy seeing and watching him live.

I haven't seen his first game, but NBA players are big in Asia, and that's why they love Dwight over there. Howard also has that personally to be very funny so that is a instant click.

And it will be a bigger crowd every night if by chance Carmelo decided to play in Taiwan as well.

Yes, that's correct, and this is the season that looks unpredictable again. It's better. Last year was a good run too as the Warriors was not really expected to take the throne again. They are either underdogs or they are neglected to be a championship caliber during last year season.
But now, it's different. Young teams like the Jazz and Thunder are making big efforts to enter the playoffs.
I bet even the pro basketball analysts are having a hard time to predict who will be the champion this year. Even the Bucks are losing while the Celtics are consistent.

Utah have been playing very well so far this season, their results have been pretty consistent since the start of the season, but until yesterday they had a bad streak, losing three games in a row. And yesterday, in a very difficult game, they managed to beat Phoenix and break this unsuccessful series. In general, Utah looks very promising, but it is still difficult to single out a clear favorite, there are many worthy teams.

I guess team owners know that they have to do something in order to compete with the Warriors and to some extend the Lebron era to become competitive. And that is why it seems that there are well balance, both divisions haven't had a dominant team. And Warriors are struggling now as defending champion and I don't see them going back to back NBA champs. So it will be hard to predict as who will be on top of both divisions this early.

Hard to predict, all the players and the team owners are really aiming to reached better standing and make a good season run,
looking from the current standing, most of those underdogs are really performing.

While the favorites are struggling to win games, a well balance season which we really can't say what will happen next.

Maybe most of these favorites will try to use their remaining cap to utilize stars those who are still open for trades, they
will use their capabilities to balance and adjust their squad.

Carmelo isn't signing in that league.  If he doesn't get signed anywhere here he will just retire.  Most likely he gets picked up mid season.  His wife La La wouldn't live there she likes the LA/NY life.
Who knows. We have not heard of an official statement coming from him on whether or not he accepts the offer or he already had but i missed it lol. Besides, he can actually play overseas with his wife still living in the US. However, if he thinks some team will pick him up mid season, then that should be the main reason why he's not signing, otherwise that offer is actually good than nothing as he still does not consider retiring.
He could still play for a couple of years, and he'll probably going to be a good addition in any of the teams from that Taiwan league.
Yes, Carmelo is really hoping for that. That is why he is not yet signing with that Taiwanese team who wanted him because he still have that feeling that there will be a team in the league that will need his skills and contribution this season. If not, then there will be no doubt that he will be playing overseas too just like Howard did, I don't think that his wife is the main reason why he is not yet signing.
I do not think that Melo "hopes" for NBA contract to be fair, I feel like he just doesn't need to play. Like if he was offered a contract from France, Italy, even England which doesn't have a proper basketball league, he "could" accept because those nations are beautiful to live in, but Taiwan? Really? No way he accepts that, no matter how much they offer. Money is not an issue for this dude unless he lost it all on ftx or something Cheesy.

He must be rich as hell, so he can just relax and just enjoy retirement, or he can start focusing on what he wants to do after he retired, some just enjoy life, some find another work and keep working after a while too.

Wait, what's wrong with Taiwan? The country has its own beauty too that the other countries you mentioned doesn't have, as well as their culture. It feels like your defaming and insulting Taiwan just like how you compared it to France, Italy or England. In addition, if Carmelo Anthony himself don't wanna play anymore then he should've retired already but he didn't, did he?

Money is not the problem of course, the main reasons why these veterans are not yet retiring is because they still want to play in the sport they loved and still had some hopes that there will some team in the NBA that will offer them a contract.

now the results for my picks on today's game,

Philadelphia 76ers VS Milwaukee Bucks SCORE 110 - 102 - LOST

It was a close game but the Bucks have started strong, but Joel Embiid has picked up the pace in the last struggle of the Bucks, and Bobby Portis has a double-double performance of 11 rebounds and 21 points, while Giannis Antetokounmpo has a double-double performance aswell of 14 rebounds and 25 points but it was not enough with Joel Embiids double-double performance of 11 rebounds and 32 points,

New Orleans Pelicans VS Boston Celtics SCORE 109 - 117 - WIN

The Boston Celtics have done it from start to finish the Pelicans didn't make a lead pretty it was a one-sided game, nothing much to say but the Celtics have ruled the game even without Marcus Smarts

Utah Jazz VS Phoenix Suns SCORE 134 - 133 - WIN

Surely the newly formed Utah Jazz is really something to behold Malik Beasley has 27 points, while Lauri Markkanen did mostly the work making 38 points for the game, it was really a close game but the Utah Jazz has really surprised the Suns, for their unbelievable performance,

Golden State Warriors VS New York Knicks SCORE 111 - 101 - WIN

Pretty much the odds are really accurate it was no surprise for the Warriors to win over the Knicks, it was a good spread for the Warriors Klay Thompson has 20 points Andrew Wiggins also got 20, while Chef Curry has a double-double performance of 10 assists and 24 points,

How about Booker putting up 49 in a 1 point loss to the Jazz tonight… He had a great night also getting 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Markkanen had a super efficient scoring night for the Jazz that was though to overcome. He shot 15-18 from the field which is pretty insane. I’m guessing that was probably the best shooting night he’s had in his career. A shame the Suns couldn’t pull this one out.

I guess he can feel what Steph felt when he score 50 in a losing cause against them.  Smiley

But in any case, it was a great game between the two teams, the Jazz had a good lead by the Suns comes back with Booker at the picture.

Jazz though are for real, it was a good decision for them to disband the team and now they are paying the price but in a positive way. Markkanen 38 points for the big guy, Clarkson was consistent in this team, with 20 points.

The NBA nowadays is becoming more and more competitive. More than 20 teams are capable of qualifying for the playoffs. We can only count the teams that are weak and some rebuilding teams with lots of future first-round draft picks like the Utah Jazz and OKC are performing at their unexpected pace. I am hoping that some teams without superstars can enter the playoffs as they are more fun to watch. Imagine the reactions of teams like the Brooklyn Nets with nearly $200 million in salaries and then all of a sudden a team like Indiana Pacers with less than a hundred million dollars performs better? The most expensive salaries this season will be spent by GSW with over $200 million. And there's Draymond Green wanting a max contract.

That was an intense game from the Washington Wizards versus the Miami Heat.
Kyle Kuzma saved the team by shooting a clutch three to extend the game to overtime.
That should've been the same play against the OKC Thunder if only they didn't force it to Bradley Beal. They could've been in 5 game winning streak if not for that loss.
9 wins for the Wizards now, and they went up the ladder to 6th spot in the East.

It was a basketball game that was quite a struggle. The Miami Heat played very well in the second quarter, as the first half ended, I thought Miami would win the game. But in the last two quarters, the Wizards have played better and in the end they managed to win the game by just 1 point.
Beal and Kuzma performed very well

Looks like we are seeing a different trend this season compared to where it was a few years ago. It just shows that teams are becoming more competitive like you said to the point that a team doesn't need an all-star to be a better team.

A few years ago, in order for a team to enter the playoffs or at least have a chance to be a title contender, you need to have at least 2 all-star players in your team. We are still at the beginning of the season, but we are seeing teams that don't have either an all-star player or a superstar player but currently at the top 8. Teams like Pacers, Wizards, Jazz and surprisingly the Kings are now at the top 8 on their corresponding conferences and the ones who has an all-star player are currently at the bottom. Sixers, Nets, Heat, Lakers, Warriors now at the bottom 8.

Well, we are still at the beginning of the season, and anything might change as they play more games. We might see those teams at the bottom to go to top 8 and vice-versa.

Here are my picks for today's game and actually these 4 teams right now are my favorite to win this season, any of these teams make it to the finals I would be glad,

Philadelphia 76ers VS Milwaukee Bucks

The stake odds for this game are 1.95 for the 76ers, and 1.90 for the Bucks for this game the odds are pretty much close and the Bucks could be the one that has a huge advantage on odds but right now because of Bucks injuries, Jrue Holiday is questionable, while Khris Middleton, Pat Connaughton, and Wesley Matthews can not play until Nov 21, while for 76ers has James Harden, but still, Giannis Antetokounmpo is 100% can play for the Bucks, so for me, Milwaukee Bucks will win here,

Quite a close game. Holiday is playing that makes the playing field even. Tyrese Maxey is injured but the game is still close. The sixers are on top by  5 points as this is writing with 2 minutes left in the game. This could still go anyway but the Sixers have the momentum. The stake odds for this game are 2.11 for the Pelicans and 1.77 for the Celtics, Zion Williamson might not be in 100% form and is questionable if he can play for the Pelicans while Marcus Smart can not play for the Celtics, but me, I will still go with the Celtics,

Utah Jazz VS Phoenix Suns

The stake odds for this game are 1.91 for the Jazz and 1.94 for the Suns, Rudy Gay can not play for the Jazz Landry Shamet can not play for the Suns, and Chris Paul is questionable, so for me, the Utah Jazz is a wild team that has erupted this season and making great success plays, so for me, my pick is Utah Jazz,

Golden State Warriors VS New York Knicks

The stake odds for this game are 1.32 for the Warriors and 3.55 for the Knicks, While this is kind of one-sided and biased towards the Warriors but for me Warriors is on top so the Warriors from start to finish,
