Will they play Nicholson in game 5? I think that's a very important game for them, so if Nicholson could already play, that would help them improve their chance of winning. However, if we are talking of game rigging here, then that is not important anymore as either team could win even without their import as long as the calls are on their favor.

Can we set aside the rigged or manipulation part? As far as my latest observation since watching right from Game 1, there might be questionable calls but that is something not that big issue to consider. The whole game of this series for me is still fair and square.

No update yet if Nicholson will play in Game 5 and the Dragons should wisely decide on their move regarding that.

According to the agreement with the league, if Nicholson will be replaced by Powell, there's no chance for him to get on board again once the latter got injured again. It's either they will play without an import or get Nicholson ready if he's fit to play. As of now, I doubt Powell is 100% recovered now since if he's really ready in action now, the Dragons will use him instead.

Well then, let's wait for the update later on.

But Ginebra will surely defend their home, this series might reach game 7 but that game 7 belongs to the home team which is the Gin Kings. Imagine if this will reach game 7, I can't imagine the total number of people that will watch the game, last time it was 17k, maybe all seats will be fully book in game 7.

No doubt about it, expect a full-pack audience if Game 7 will happens. Plus the number of viewers on the live stream.

Just imagine the crowd number when Ginebra is in the Finals, what's more now that Ginebra is not just playing for their team but rather representing the whole country against the foreign team. We are not just watching a simple Ginebra game here but rather it's like defending our nation.
There’s a pride in here but still be crucial for Ginebra, they should not let Game 7 to happen better for them to end the series in game 6 or else they might be on a bigger trouble in game 7. Bay Area was able to overcome the crowd before as they prove it and take the two wins, so I don’t think they are still intimidated by the crowd. Ginbra have to bounce back, they should take game 5.

But just concerned here that the Dragons were able to keep up with Ginebra even without import in the last game.

That is something they should be taken note of.

No betting odds release yet.

It is best that we wait until we see if Nicholson will play game 5 or not before we make our bet. His presence I think will make a big shift on who will be the underdog and the spread of the game.
This is also the update I’m waiting for, unfortunately it looks like it will be a secret until the game 5 as part of the strategy of Bay Area as they are more eager to take the lead here since game 5 will be crucial and they have to go all in here. I see some good odds for Ginebra though, many bettors still believe that Ginebra will also bounce back from its game 4 loss, its getting more harder to place a bet now.  Grin
He’s unhealthy but if he can still play, Bay Area will take that risk in order for them to win the game 5. Bay Area can’t take a risk playing again without their import as Nicholson plays an important role for Bay Area. Well, if he will not play then better, Ginebra can start doing their game strategy against Bay Area without worrying for their import, and this time they should do it the proper way to avoid losing again.

However, if we are talking of game rigging here, then that is not important anymore as either team could win even without their import as long as the calls are on their favor.

In the news, it says that the Bay Area Dragons will stick with Nicholson, so it will just depend on if he is healthy enough to play in game 5. It will be a very big game for both of the team since usually, the one who wins game 5 have a higher chance of taking the championship. So, both teams will need all the help they can get, especially from their imports. Sure, the Bay Area Dragons can win without their import, just like how they have shown in game 4, but Ginebra will not let that happen again. And it will be a Sunday game. We know how Ginebra plays at Sunday with the help of the crowd. They are boosted and especially good on Sundays.

So here we go to game 5.

It would be nice if we can bet early so we will not miss the opportunity.
There's no confirmation yet if Nicholson will be able to play in game 5, and this is the latest update.

Andrew Nicholson unsure if he'll be fit to play in Game Five

Quote
ANDREW Nicholson is non-committal on a possible return in Game Five of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

The Dragons were forced to play without an import on Friday after Nicholson suffered a sprained ankle in their loss to Barangay Ginebra in Game Three.

The 33-year-old import wore a protective boot in his left foot and was in street clothes when he showed up for Game Four, which the Dragons won even without him, 94-86, to even the series at two game apiece.

We never know who will take the title, both teams are deserving and they are really fighting for that award, I like also to see our local team to defend our league, not being bias but Ginebra's magic always bring the fans the enjoyment they deserve.

Yes Kabayan! the last count is more than 17k that kind of huge fans PBA have when Gin kings are playing, just curious if game 7 will take place all seats might be covered and that huge noise is well expected, remember that waves last game 3 the pressure and the help of that huge numbers of fans.

Bay Area needs to be prepared as aside from that huge pressure from Ginebra's players, the huge fans will also can bring destruction.

Though they can also use that as inspiration, knowing that it's part of being a pro, they need to be ready and not to feel the pressure while playing the game.

Yes, I can't wait for game 7, Ginebra has to win game 5 and then Bay Area in game 6 so we will have a game 7. I'm hoping that his series will reach until  the end, and Ginebra will have a huge run in the 4th quarter of game 7 to win the championship, that would be a great story line.

Nicholson is now feeling relief as he will not have to blame himself anymore for not playing, in game 5, if he will play, that would make the game more exciting to watch as no more excuses will be heard from either teams.

PBA is winning, more or less 17k fans each game if the series will be pushed to a game 7 do-or-die final, this is really something that will create a huge income for this league, Bay Area is really fighting and even without an import they manage to win and tie the series again, it will be another adjustments that we will see from both teams.

Game 5 is very important and I'm sure both teams know it. The advantage of the winner in game 5 will put a lot of pressure on the losing team. The winning team can end the series in game 6.
As we know, this is like when the league is in the finals and since Ginebra likely has the most fans, this has to be expected when they're in the finals. Yeah, game 5 is like where the momentum starts for whoever wins it but I'd like to see it go to game 7.  Tongue

Well, that's what people want and that's what the management want as well so it might happen like you said. A win-win for both of them. Audience and those who are watching from home are happy especially the Ginebra fans and at the same time, the management is happy as well because they will be getting much revenue from the audiences.

I'd like to see it going to a Game 7 but like I said, I think that the Ginebra will end it in 6 games because if it will go to a Game 7, they might lose it and knowing that the Dragons can defeat them even without an import, it's a threat for them if it will be stretched to 7 games. It's only my observation. Smiley
It's like, in the long run, Dragons has got the chance to win for game 7 but whatever it is. Even if I want game 7, I still want Ginebra to have this finals end with the title.

We are the same mate I also like to see genking have that trophy and win this season as They are the local players of Philippine Basketball Association,  and I think they can do that if they doubled their plays like their defense they must tighten that and have a good accuracy in outside shooting to compete Bay Area dragons as wee all know how the ball moves in the hand of the Bay Area dragons player .

Most likely if Ginebra will win game 5 might be possible to see the series reaching game 7, but if the visiting team will snatch the momentum and win game 5 Gin kings will have a big problem as Bay area can finish the series in game 6, the kind of game they've showed last game 4, something that really brings them back as dominant, no import no problem for them.

Well, that's what people want and that's what the management want as well so it might happen like you said. A win-win for both of them. Game 5 is very important and I'm sure both teams know it. The advantage of the winner in game 5 will put a lot of pressure on the losing team. The winning team can end the series in game 6.

In every game series, after it was tied in a 2-2, Game 5 is the considered turnaround of the series.

Teams winning in Game 5 won't be pressured at all entering Game 6 as win or loss, they will still have the chance next game. On the other hand, the losing team in Game 5 will be pressured to win in Game 6 as no chance at all if they will still lose it.

Bay Area Dragons are able to fight back without an import but it doesn't mean they can do it anytime. If no import again next game, Ginebra will now do everything to take advantage of it.

Lam act as the import for the Dragons, with those crucial shots in the last 5 minutes, you can't count how Pringle tried to stop him but that back to back to back crucial points from this guy gives the Dragons a good and comfortable lead before the last 2 mins of the final quarter, I can't tell if how Ginebra will adjust now.

They need to work and take the advantage if ever the Dragons will play again without the import. Game 4 really shows how eager the dragon in winning these series. They show everything and also they are now physical and let anything to happen.

With the trend, I think they will give game 5 to the Ginebra Gin Kings. I read some comments in facebook saying, PBA stands for "Philippine Business Association", that simply means they want to take this series to game 7 but will not put Ginebra in trouble so they'll give them a chance to be up and maybe game 7 will be for Ginebra Gin Kings.

Will they play Nicholson in game 5? I think that's a very important game for them, so if Nicholson could already play, that would help them improve their chance of winning. However, if we are talking of game rigging here, then that is not important anymore as either team could win even without their import as long as the calls are on their favor.

Both teams have to do better in game 5 because that is crucial and whoever takes the lead, will have a good advantage and yes will play in game 6 without any pressure. Though Bay Area looks more comfortable without their import but I agree, they can't afford to be complacent here if they want to get this championship same thing with Ginebra. I hope to see a more productive game for Ginebra, they are missing a lot of shots in the past 4 games.

I guess the series will extend until game 7, you know, like the usual. I'm rooting for Bay Area this time. They should add more guest team to revived the dying league and a better competition not just the same sister companies. That is also an opportunity for local players, they should step up their game. Wether locals like it or not, foreign players are really dominant.

Anyway, Bay Area won game 4 so the series is tied again. No import, No problem.
I'm starting to feel that this will go on to game 7.
Ginebra will win in 6 games Tongue.
It's been written already. I like the series to go to a Game 7, but I don't think it will happen. I don't know why but my instinct is saying that it will not Cheesy.
We will see it.  Grin
I think it's more fun to see that this series will be longer. The hype and drama that it creates are really enjoying to see, this is the type of finals that we've been waiting for.
And this is more special because the finals are for the first time in history with a guest team and they're not just a simple guest team but really, a big and strong team.

TBH, they can do it again.

How? We saw that some players of the Dragons stepped up in Game 4 in order to get the win. Players like Zhu SongWei being the ball handler and Kobe Lam being the scorer. In Game 3, Lam only scored 17 but in Game 4, he scored 30 which is a huge step up for him. The Dragons managed to block the paint thus, they outrebounded the Ginebra 52-37. Their other bigs are capable of defending the paint as well. Their big Liu and Duncan Reid is a big help for the team defensively.

Add all of these and with Nicholson coming back, there is a chance that they can still defeat the Ginebra in Game 5. On the other hand, Ginebra has a 6th man lurking around and that is... I will not say the name. I will just let you guys think about it Tongue.
