Anyway, Bay Area won game 4 so the series is tied again. No import, No problem.
I'm starting to feel that this will go on to game 7.
Ginebra will win in 6 games Tongue.
It's been written already. I like the series to go to a Game 7, but I don't think it will happen. I don't know why but my instinct is saying that it will not Cheesy.
We will see it.  Grin
I think it's more fun to see that this series will be longer. The hype and drama that it creates are really enjoying to see, this is the type of finals that we've been waiting for.
And this is more special because the finals are for the first time in history with a guest team and they're not just a simple guest team but really, a big and strong team.
Well, that's what people want and that's what the management want as well so it might happen like you said. A win-win for both of them. Audience and those who are watching from home are happy especially the Ginebra fans and at the same time, the management is happy as well because they will be getting much revenue from the audiences.

I'd like to see it going to a Game 7 but like I said, I think that the Ginebra will end it in 6 games because if it will go to a Game 7, they might lose it and knowing that the Dragons can defeat them even without an import, it's a threat for them if it will be stretched to 7 games. It's only my observation. Smiley

Bay Area Dragons are able to fight back without an import but it doesn't mean they can do it anytime. If no import again next game, Ginebra will now do everything to take advantage of it.
TBH, they can do it again.

How? We saw that some players of the Dragons stepped up in Game 4 in order to get the win. Players like Zhu SongWei being the ball handler and Kobe Lam being the scorer. In Game 3, Lam only scored 17 but in Game 4, he scored 30 which is a huge step up for him. The Dragons managed to block the paint thus, they outrebounded the Ginebra 52-37. Their other bigs are capable of defending the paint as well. Their big Liu and Duncan Reid is a big help for the team defensively.

Add all of these and with Nicholson coming back, there is a chance that they can still defeat the Ginebra in Game 5. On the other hand, Ginebra has a 6th man lurking around and that is... I will not say the name. I will just let you guys think about it Tongue.

Game 5 is very important and I'm sure both teams know it. The advantage of the winner in game 5 will put a lot of pressure on the losing team. The winning team can end the series in game 6.

In every game series, after it was tied in a 2-2, Game 5 is the considered turnaround of the series.

Teams winning in Game 5 won't be pressured at all entering Game 6 as win or loss, they will still have the chance next game. On the other hand, the losing team in Game 5 will be pressured to win in Game 6 as no chance at all if they will still lose it.

PBA is winning, more or less 17k fans each game if the series will be pushed to a game 7 do-or-die final, this is really something that will create a huge income for this league, Bay Area is really fighting and even without an import they manage to win and tie the series again, it will be another adjustments that we will see from both teams.

Game 5 is very important and I'm sure both teams know it. The advantage of the winner in game 5 will put a lot of pressure on the losing team. The winning team can end the series in game 6.

There is no doubt about Ginebra and yes they have a better chance here to take the championship in game 6.
This is a good script to follow actually, we all know this is possible but the way they are playing right now is exceptional. Bay Area is doing great, but of course as a Ginebra fan they should do better and take another trophy. Let's see if Ginebra can still make a good magic here.  Cheesy

Anyway, Bay Area won the game 4 and tied the series even without their import, its not a surprise as they are more eager to bounce back here and prove to their haters of what they are capable.

Bay area dragons don't have an import to play in game 4 but still they manage the win because they have lam Avery high accuracy in three point line and no worries if he can not shoot it because they have big man who can take the rebound. The only mistake by the ginebra is their defense as we all know once the Bay Area dragons have the position the movement speed of the ball pass to other player is very good and find the open one to shoot the 3 points.

In several decades of the PBA, I have followed their style, of course, it's a business, as long as Ginebra makes it to the finals, expect the arena to always be full and that's a lot of money for them as well. Why should they finish the finals early because they will lose a lot of income.

Even if I look at the fight, it's overcooked, so sometimes the other referees in the PBA seem to be conspiring with the fight to be honest.
Many knew it but who cares as long as audiences are happy, who cares right?
Many knew that there is some bit of manipulation but as long as audience are happy, and the management is happy then who cares right?

Ginebra has been known for being a title contender when it comes to a conference that has an import. Ginebra is the crowd favorite and when they are going to the Finals, the audience is always full. In the last 4 games, the average audience is at around 15,000-17,000. Just imagine how much the management earns from them. How much money they're getting. Can you imagine if the teams who are playing in the Finals are those independent teams? Can you imagine how many audiences will go and watch their games? Not as much and like you said, it's a business. The only thing that we can do is to just complain and complain but the management doesn't care as long as they're earning from it.

Anyway, Bay Area won game 4 so the series is tied again. No import, No problem.

Seems like the league is very much manipulated, look at what Bay area players claiming that ref calls are being manipulated and they got penalty for stating their sentiments regarding to that so that they will shut up. There' no free speech there so not surprising to see that they will stretch that series since this is damn business. I'm not surprised if Ginebra will win since this could bring hype to the fans compare if Bay Area Dragons will win the champ this season.
That's a bad impression for a guest team and they'll always remember that whenever they go and have it compared to any league that they've been in. Can't help that the damage has been done and the Dragons have won. We're seeing how most of their players were really contributors to the team.

Penalizing a player for bad-mouthing an organization is not exclusive to PBA. Most organization does that. That is preserving the integrity of your organization. NBA has a stiffer penalty for talking about referees. They are professional athletes, and they should know better than to talk about issues on social media. If they feel that they are being cheated, they should go through the proper channel in filing their complaints.

Great start by Bay Area, they seem to keep this game close, even without their import, they are still competing very well against the Gin Kings. They definitely have a chance to win here, but they should keep their composure especially in the 4th quarter where they usually choked.

Japeth was the missing link, here, let's see if he can contribute with better numbers.

End of the first half and the Gin Kings is up by 8 points.

If this trend continues, Bay Area Dragons will lose this game as they are reduced to a jump shooting team and no plays down low where they can fish for a foul which they were crying for while Cstand and Justine Brownlee wreak havoc the middle which the Dragons hard a hard time stopping.

With what a witnessed in the first half, i already accepted that i'll lose my bet.  Sad

It turns out this was a trap. Ginebra will lose this game, and the series will be 2-2.
I think they want to extend this series, we will probably see a game 7 here and there's also a big chance that Bay Area will win the championship.

A great way to rig the series, LOL.. more games means more money for the league.

Instead of investigating the whole issue, they just came up into this decision to penalized those two players for speaking out loud about the poor system of PBA, this is not the first time and yet PBA is still not doing anything.

More money indeed lol.

Good thing that Kobe Lamb catches fire in the fourth canto that anything he throws went in but still not a good thing though that they are now just a jump-shooting team but a win is a win so congrats for those Dragons' believer out there who bet for this game 4. I hope Nicholson will be back this coming Sunday as i saw him in the Dragon's bench and he seems fine.

This series has created a lot of buzz in the social media which i think a good thing for the PBA hehe.

This game is so excited to watch till the end as we all know how both teams defends and they have good momentum for this game I'll bet for fingers San Miguel hoping they will this game so that i will win too. But bay area dragon is very tough maybe if ginbera will win it would be single digit win. But hope they will not loss cause we all know the play of Bay Area they have very good momentum as well.

Looks like Bay Area is not giving up, they are down but only a single digit.

The score now is 55-56 in favor of Gin Kings. I believe the deciding quarter here is the 4th quarter, and let's see if Bay Area can still keep the game close and probably win by upset here. For sure Powell and Nicholson would be so happy to see that.
The Gin Kings are still one point ahead of Bay Area and both teams are scoring but only one point is different between them now that they are playing quarter four so far both teams are scoring hard. However, there is a chance for Gin Kings to win, but since the two teams are almost equal in points, it cannot be guaranteed, but Gin Kings is still showing a fairly good performance.

I've read an article today, and according to it, it will still be Nicholson who will be their import in game 4. Maybe that's the reason why the odds favored the Ginebra and they are now favored by -2.5 points. This is the first time where Ginebra was listed as the favorite, and we all know that game 4 is a very important game for the Bay Dragons as they need to win to even the series.

I have also read that Nicholson won't be playing today because of injury and they will not field Powell as their import so i think that is the reason on the shifting of the odds and this may be a bad sign for those who bet for the Bay Area Dragons as not fielding an import is a sign that they are conceding this early in the series.
Consider the series over already. Ginebra will win the title.

Nicholson will remain as their import but will not play in Game 4? I mean they are in a PBA Finals series, and you will not let any of your 2 imports play. If one of them can play, then at least let them play but they aren't doing it. That alone is a sign that the Dragons are raising the white flag. Anyway, Game 3 alone has many discrepancies and for them, it looks like the referees are favoring the Ginebra when it comes to fouls. Well, they've always been. Ooops!!! Tongue

This Finals series might be over in 5 games. I'm pretty sure the morale of the Dragons went down drastically after what happened in Game 3. They are very frustrated that even Powell and Blankley posted their feelings in social media, and they were fined because of it. For the Ginebra, it's a big achievement for them but for the Dragons, it's just a scrimmage series for them so why bother sacrificing their imports. That's what they are thinking right now.

They choose to rest Nicholson because it will only give them more problems if the injury will be aggravated. After this game, they still have a chance to win but it's very slim since the chance for a team winning the championship from a 3-1 deficit is very low, but at least having him in game 5 will probably make the team better, and hopefully he is 100% that time.
