Yeah, that fact will not change until the trade and draft situations will change. SMC and MVP teams are always taking the advantage of it while the other teams that don't have any plans of winning are becoming their farm teams. It's not just the fans are aware of it and even the other teams and coaching staff are aware of it but they can't speak ill against the management because for sure Al and Marcial will give them a notice and will call them to their office. LOL

SMC and MVP only have the power to spend big money on getting good players. We can't blame the independent teams if they are left behind. As for players, why they will stick to these independent teams if there are big offers from big companies? It just makes sense to think that SMC and MVP will always have the advantage.

But there is an independent team that is serious about building a legacy and they are the only ones that I see being active in furnishing their roster.

I'm referring to Converge and hope they will repeat they're good rally next conference and be able to find a good import in the Governors' Cup.

No further comment with that capabilities and with how players will take the approach from both SMC and MVP, the perks of playing with high paying team plus those outside the contract benefits, something that we can't blame those stars who got the opportunities to play with those big franchise that owns by these two giant companies.

With regard to independent teams, I also hope that Converge will continue being competitive and adding to the team is Rain or Shine. I'm hoping that after re-acquiring coach Yeng, he will bring the competitiveness of this team.

The Bay Area Dragons are still at disadvantage next game. Expect the odds for them will be over at @2 again in Game 6.

It's now official that Andrew Nicholson won't play the next game. He is not yet fit to play according to the team's source.

With that, Ginebra can close out the series with a high chance but Dragons won't surely allow that to happen easily.
Nicholson will not play in Game 6 but guess what... the Dragons reactivated Myles Powell and he will play in Game 6. Facebook page "One Sports" posted it 20 mins ago. Sorry I needed to put it into bold because I believe this might be a turnaround of the series.

With the Dragons on a must-win situation, they must use any strategies that they needed to in order to extend the series into 7 games. I also believe that this game will excite me to watch because we didn't see Powell play against the Ginebra in the whole conference. This is his first time so there are many questions to him. Will he score more than 30+ points again like what he used to do in eliminations? Will he play well against the Ginebra? Will his foot injury not hinder him to be the main scorer he used to be back in eliminations?

Those questions will be answered on Wednesday but one thing for sure, I'm excited with this news and for sure many are also excited as well.
If this is just between local teams, especially smc and mvp, it won't be as exciting as this. I'm rooting for Bay Area to push this series to game 7 with Powell being reactivated. They should have done it as early as Game 4 to have a chance in better standing. Always take the advantage if there is one. Now, the pressure is even greater since they are the ones in a do-or-die situation.

This upcoming January 11 Bay area dragon will push to continue their journey here in the series and 1 more win ginebra will be the king and the champion in this season,  what a good play by both teams as we can see that they are doing great. But the most I impresses is that when ginebra how they manage their ball movement. And by the help of their import Justin Brownlee, they win the match and also Japeth   he is doing good also.

I think that because the PBA has been doing such styles for a long time that they will make more money by extending game 7. Now, it will be even harder to get tickets, because they are the scalpers who wholesale the tickets, and then they will sell more dear to those like this finals.

I'm asking a friend of mine to help me watch it too, but he hasn't been able to find me yet because the scalpers are holding him back. So the Bay area dragons will probably win tomorrow, it will be a tough battle again for sure.

We will know if who's much hungrier and who will stand out in game 6
And I think that it will even surpass the audience attendance with the last game which is likely the highest number that's ever recorded.
Its weekday’s game so probably many will hesitant to watch the game live but of course huge crowd will still be there and it can be a big help for Ginebra. This is their biggest chance to take the championship but they should not be complacent because the import of Bay Area will surely be back and help the team to force a do or die game, Bay Area is not giving up yet and probably as many believes this is part of the script.

Still expect a big crowd. Whenever Ginebra is playing in the Finals, expect that their supporters will show up. Especially now that they are against a strong guest team. I am expecting a larger attendance in game 6 and would be a larger crowd if Bay Area Dragon will force a game 7.

It is what it is in PBA. I think it will not change as long as there is no rule prohibiting it and that farm teams allow themselves to be farm teams.

I am just thankful that this guest team is strong, and they were able to give us good competition against the top team of SMC. PBA has not been this exciting for a long time now. Hopefully, we still see strong guest teams next conference or season. I hope they still want to come even after the allegation of bias referees and fixing games.

As always.  Cheesy
But if they're able to manage to make hype games during the earlier stage of every season like too many attendances wanting to watch the live games, for sure that the profit is going to be way higher.

Luckily they manage to orchestrate this invitational events and it looks like we are seeing a good preview of team gilas, hahaha but kidding aside, PBA still unbalance in terms of those other teams outside MVP and SMC, the very reason why fans is no longer interested that much watching the live events, there are lots of lapses which driving the fans not to support the league anymore.

For now, let's enjoy the scenery and hope that we will see more quality games like this in the next coming season.

"Hopefully" we ain't sure but better to hope right?

Yeah, that was the weekend so it makes sense that the crowd is vast. But let's still see since there is just 1 probable game away or 2 if it continues to game 7.

What the hell, the series is intense and thrilling, and yet there are still people out there saying it's a script?

Do these people really watch the series or just waiting for the Final score? And when confronting these users which part of the game is scripted they can't even answer it properly lol. We should stop that conspiracy and just watch the game.

If Bay Area Dragons will win next game and extend the series to Game 7, that's not part of the fucking script but they really fought for it

.......but I'm hoping that Nicholson will play for us to be able to see a fair and entertaining game.

It's not fair if the refs will try to rig the game. I have a feeling that we will see a game 7, so even if the Bay Area does not have an import in game 6, I think they will still be given a chance to win, so game 7 the PBA will make a lot of money. In game 7, it can be expected that there will be a huge number of audience, so most likely the event will be held in the Philippine Arena which has a maximum capacity of  55,000 persons.
source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine_Arena

Forget about that conspiracy theory, let them play the game and they should be ready with the miss calls or whatsoever. Because if they will always think that refs are not in their favor, then certainly they will not be able to win because of distraction. Glenn Yang was injured last time, he could be a great contributor to the team, but let's see if he can suit up in game 6 and Nicholson as well.

They should move on if there's no call then they need to hassle more to stay in the game, I'm not saying that there's nothing like that inside the league but if they will dwell on it, the focus will not be good, both teams are expected to perform to the best that they can, as both are aiming the win, one is to finished the series while the other team will try to push to have a do-or-die final game 7.

That's how the business works on PBA so maybe best to ignore that since we or even the opponent guest team cannot prove that or strongly support that claim. So maybe for now lets just enjoy what performance done by BGSM players especially Thompson where his heart and hustle bring Ginebra to a huge victory last match up.

The audience is the second-highest all-time at that venue. The most audience recorded there is Game 7 of the Philippine Cup between San Miguel Beermen and Alaska with 23,616. That's the game where SMB bounce back from a 0-3 deficit.

And crazy stats this Finals as this series between Ginebra and Bay Area Dragons is averaging 17,000 live audiences per game.
It's Sunday Smiley. Families especially those die hard Ginebra fans spent their family day watching their favorite team that's why they got that huge number of audiences.
Well, you said that "Beer-acle" as they are saying because they are the only team that bounced back from a 0-3 deficit. That's the first time in PBA history and it has never happened to NBA as well. Cheesy

TBH, I didn't have time to watch the Game 5 which is quite unfortunate for me but as I look at the articles online, it looks like Yang and Blankley had an ankle sprain and Nicholson is still not sure if he will play in Game 6. On the other hand, their team captain Tenorio got a groin injury as well.

Ginebra leads series 3-2 but still no room for confidence. The Dragons are still a strong team with or without an import. What the Dragons need is a player/s that will step up offensively like what they did in Game 4 if they really want to extend this series to 7 games.

Tenorio might miss the next game if the injury is serious, but don't worry, we have Pringle who was the best player last game, with him being as part of the starting line up, Ginebra will be able to play a more fast pace game. No confirmation from Bay Area yet, but I'm hoping that Nicholson will play for us to be able to see a fair and entertaining game.

21,823 audience at the Mall of Asia Arena in Game 5.

The audience is the second-highest all-time at that venue. The most audience recorded there is Game 7 of the Philippine Cup between San Miguel Beermen and Alaska with 23,616. That's the game where SMB bounce back from a 0-3 deficit.

I will not be surprised if there will be comments that the league will try to milk this out by extending the series to Game 7. I bet, if this reaches a full series, there will be even more attendance. It may even break the record.

Game 5 doesn't even show any competitiveness. That was a smooth win for the Brgy. Ginebra.

The Dragons however tried to bounce back from that big lead. They get able though to cut the lead but Ginebra does their best to keep them from advancing more. They didn't allow themselves to be overpowered again by the Dragons playing without an import.

The Dragons should now risk playing whoever available imports they have as Game 6 will be their win-or-go-home game.

I did not see the resilience that the Dragons normally show when they are down. This time, they look frustrated and cannot bounce back. Part of it is maybe because they are getting fouls more than the Gin Kings, even though the Gin kings are playing more aggressively. They tried in the fourth quarter, but they only got up to 6 points deficit and never really closed-in to the Gin Kings. They have to do better next game if they want to extend this series.

Ginebra should not feel relaxed next game and do their best to finish the series next game.

They should not. Even though they are ahead right now, the Dragons are still very dangerous. They will snatch Game 6 if Ginebra slacks on them.
